Grand Resort Lagonissi

This was our first visit to the Grand Resort Lagonissi and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room was a little dated but that did not diminish our experience. The area around the resort was not that nice but given the size of the property and the numerous restaurants it was not necessary to leave the premises. The location of the main amenities, spa, gym, restaurant on their main beach was a great convenience.

This is a lovely resort. Really beautiful location and many outstanding attributes. But, a couple of disappointing things made me drop it to four stars. The curtains in our room were electric but not wired in and quite difficult to pull. Paper cups in the room (bit cheap for 5 star hotel). Used plates and glasses were left in the room for days and only taken when room service contacted. Big conference at breakfast one morning without warning. Like a swarm of locusts. Same people using our private beach. Bit limited with water supplies and tea making facilities. Breakfast selection quite limited. Bar service was non existent. Sat for ages after asking for service. Gave up in the end. I don’t mean to just knock it. There were many pluses too. As I say beautiful location and grounds. Lovely food in the restaurants. Amazing suite with brilliant views. Would definitely return.

We really enjoyed the high-quality breakfast and wide range of options, as well as the beautiful views and access to several beach areas, which were lovely for relaxing. However, given the price of the property and the reputation of the hotel chain, we expected a higher standard and a more luxurious overall experience. The hotel feels quite dated. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful view, but the furniture and interior design felt tired and didn’t reflect the level of luxury we had anticipated. The turn-down service was also very basic and, overall, the room lacked some of the finishing touches you would expect at this price point. There were also a number of maintenance issues. The shower door didn’t close properly, causing the bathroom to flood, and several pieces of technology in the room appeared to no longer be working. We also noticed lifted or damaged flooring in areas of both the room and hotel grounds. Some hotel amenities also appeared not to be in use, and there were empty buildings and areas around the property, which contributed to an overall feeling that the hotel was no longer quite the large luxury resort it may once have been. The restaurants were pleasant and the food was good, although prices felt quite inflated, particularly given the limited options to eat and drink nearby. Overall, there are some real positives, particularly the breakfast, views and beach areas, but we felt the property would benefit from investment and updating to bring the experience more in line with its price and the standards we expected from the hotel chain.

What a beautiful resort! I had a lovely experience and was blown away by the gorgeous sunset facing villa over the water that I got to stay in. I am vegan and gluten-free and the Italian restaurant was incredibly accommodating in terms of making me a delicious, top-notch dinner that took into account my allergies. Perhaps the highlight of my stay was the wonderful spa experience I had. I received a deep tissue massage from a very skilled therapist by the name of Sotiris Angelis, and it was honestly one of the best massages I have received in years. This is saying a lot because I have had great massages from different therapists all over the world. I made a point of booking a second appointment with Sotiris before departing Athens. It’s rare when I come upon hotel spa therapist who is very seasoned, intuitive, and adept with working on someone who has scoliosis and chronic neck impingement. All in all, I had a lovely time at The Resort and would highly recommend it.

Great Hotel. Beautiful and peaceful water views. Mediterranean restaurant had lovely vibe and food. Breakfast was sumptuous and hospitable staff. Generally very welcoming staff.
