Poor Service - Avoid
This hotel is not up to 5 star standard. Housekeeping don’t replenish used cups and glasses, every day I had to ring to get new ones and this was met with sarcastic attitude by the reception staff. Robe missing from the room mid trip, bathroom scales don’t work. Only told a week before that the spa and indoor pool were closed with no refund option either. Not that this concerned me too much as the weather was lovely. Chairs on the balcony are uncomfortable and you cannot sit on these for more than 5 minutes. The pictures of the Acropolis city view room are not accurate. It’s only one sink and a shower above the bath and not a standalone shower like the pictures. The into saving grace for this place is the friendly wait staff at breakfast who were a delight. Needs to up its game. We will be staying at the King George next time and I recommend if you are reading this review you do the same.

Anniversary trip
Just incredible. Service was top notch. Food was excellent. Location was second to none. If you are allowed a chance, must visit. Room was beautiful and view was Wow!

Views, service, and a property that earns it's 5 stars
Cost is up there, but the rooms are really great. Quiet night's sleep as well. The service was top notch. Have been to a lot of 5 star properties and this one was tops for the service at the bar and breakfast buffet. Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed more of what the property offered. The location is great--walkable to the desirable areas to visit in Athens. Easy location to get cabs also. Rooftop view from the bar is epic.

Stunning Rooftop Views of the Acropolis
I visited the rooftop bar as a non-hotel guest and really enjoyed the experience. The view of the Acropolis was absolutely beautiful, the cocktails were delicious and the staff were very friendly. Definitely worth a visit for the view alone.

I traveled to Greece in June of 2004 and had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Grande Bretagne after its multimillion-dollar renovation. The hotel was absolutely impeccable in every way. Our room was palatial, the service was fantastic and the dinner we enjoyed at the rooftop restaurant was truly an evening to remember with the fantastic view of the Acropolis.
