Great location! Walking distance to everything, Plaka, Acropolis, restaurants and the best part you can watch the change of guard from your hotel. You can watch it from the rooftop bar or if you have a balcony like we did facing the square. We were here on a Sunday so was able to watch the parade as well. Hotel is gorgeous and luxurious. Staff are amazing especially everyone at the Rooftop bar and cigar lounge. Breakfast was the best Katrina the lead manager and her crew were extremely attentive as we had nut allergies. They were accommodating and everyday they saw us walking in and our coffee was ready. Acropolis view from the rooftop is the best. Catch the best sunset or sunrise. Only downfall was the room service. After a hot day coming to your room at 3pm and still not made was a bummer but we get it, hotel was busy. But days like this you just want to come and shower ! We did get upgraded to the suite which was awesome and spacious. We were supposed to get a butler but didn’t hear from them till the day we left. Overall great location!

Sumptuous experience. Superior location, staff, and setting. Well worth the price for such luxury and once-in-a lifetime trip. If you can, get room 602 as it has a very large veranda with a spectacular view. Bed super comfortable with firm but not hard mattress, soft sheets, and pillows that mold to your head, great water pressure and good hot water. Extra large soaking tub to soak your tired muscles at the end of the day. Huge amount of closet space and the air conditioning kept us comfy and cool during July heat. The tomato tasting menu in The Atrium of Alexanders Lounge was a stunner. Birds-eye view for Changing of the Guard ceremony on Sunday morning, incomparable view of Acropolis for taking photos during sunrise, sunset, and evening. Rooftop restaurant has a very nice breakfast buffet and the staff is so responsive to your every ask and very pleasant and professional. You can pretty much walk anywhere within 20 minutes and for further locations, several hop/on-hop/off bus stops are right across the street.

We had one very quick day and night trip to Athens and my husband splurged on the hotel and picked this one! What a hotel and service. Everything was impeccable. The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed overlooking the main square from our balcony and catching the parliamentary guards changing over. The drinks on the rooftop bar for sunset drinks were perfect...drink and view! The piano bar looked stunning but sadly we didn't have enough time to have a sit down. The spa facilities were amazing as was the massage that I had on the first day. Service and food at the breakfast was fantastic. I would love to go back to this hotel, it was perfect.

A wonderful grand dame of a hotel centrally located in Athens. We were looked after very well in a suite, the room was well appointed and in great condition. A really fantastic 2 day stay smack in the middle of Athens. Faultless.

I traveled to Greece in June of 2004 and had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Grande Bretagne after its multimillion-dollar renovation. The hotel was absolutely impeccable in every way. Our room was palatial, the service was fantastic and the dinner we enjoyed at the rooftop restaurant was truly an evening to remember with the fantastic view of the Acropolis.
