Lovely stay
Lovely Central hotel. View from the hotel outstanding at night from the room and for breakfast on the top floor. Rooms are a little dated but matches in with there theme and hotel. Pleasant staff... you can walk straight to the shopping area and lots of sights around

Luxe Stay
We booked a suite for our last night in Greece as a treat. This hotel was so luxurious and had excellent service. We had left behind a pair of sunglasses on a tour and asked the driver to leave them at the hotel; I was a little worried that the hotel wouldn’t be able to keep track of this item that came before we had checked in, but they handed them to us and had it noted without our even asking. Loved the bedding and robes and other amenities in the room. The one disappointment was that they were renovating the pool so we could not enjoy that; I don’t think we were warned about that at the time of booking. Hotel is in an excellent location.

Hotel in great location
Really enjoyed our 4 night stay here. I had requested a quiet room & we were allocated a room on the 6th floor overlooking the courtyard which worked perfectly. Some reviewers have mentioned rooms were small but we found ours to be of a decent size. Ditto the bathroom. Housekeeping was faultless. Breakfast was delicious. Lovely service. What a view! Location is excellent. On the Sunday morning we decided to watch the changing of the guard. Concierge suggested a good place for us to watch the guards marching down the road, then afterwards we headed up to 8th floor of hotel to watch the actual ceremony. We saw way more than if we'd queued up in front on the road along with hundreds of others. We had dinner one night which was very good. We had cocktails beforehand on the terrace & had a super indoor window table for dinner. We felt very well looked after. Only disappointment is that several months after booking & shortly before arrival we were told that the indoor pool would be closed. I had really wanted to book a hotel with a pool so that after all the sightseeing we could enjoy a relaxing swim at the end of the day. Frustrating that they timed closure of indoor pool when the outdoor pool was also closed for the season!

I traveled to Greece in June of 2004 and had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Grande Bretagne after its multimillion-dollar renovation. The hotel was absolutely impeccable in every way. Our room was palatial, the service was fantastic and the dinner we enjoyed at the rooftop restaurant was truly an evening to remember with the fantastic view of the Acropolis.
