A Luxurious Escape

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Our 4-day stay at Life Gallery Athens truly felt like living in luxury. The food was fantastic—special mention to the African chef who prepared the most amazing dish of black “forbidden” rice with salmon. The atmosphere was elevated even further by Mallios at the bar, whose friendliness and passion for his work really stood out. A wonderful experience that we would happily recommend.

True 5 stars! Highly recommended!

This exceptional property is situated in one the most expensive and calm surroundings of Athens. So if you can afford to miss a walking visit to Acropolis (and a mess and dirt of a city center) - I highly recommend you to stay in Life Gallery Athens. Featuring very interesting design, a charming garden, and a very “instagramable” outdoor pool, this hotel makes you feel so comfortable. The restaurant is working until 22-45, so you can have an opportunity to have a late dinner, the quality of food is Michelin-style. The cocktails at the bar were “state-of-art”. The rooms are equipped with hydro-massage showers, the quality of beds and bed-linen is exceptional. Plus - the hotel provides the transfer from and to the airport, for a fair price you get much better service and much better car comparing to a normal taxi.

A nice hotel but the staff didn't met the expectations

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We stayed for a week at the Life Gallery Hotel for some remote work and a wedding over the weekend. Since the arrival, we were shown the hotel and how it is a 5-star hotel, we were. Sadly since the first day, the service did not meet the expectations promised by the staff. Maybe it was due to the low season, but then again, the hotel did not go from 5 to 4 stars either. The service was very slow and not that attentive. Ordering a menu from the pool never to be brought, and after going to pick it up ourselves, and telling the bartender that we asked for it, no one showed up to take our order, so we were left thirsty. At breakfast, they are going for quality over quantity; there is a small buffet, and every day the same. At no point did the staff come to offer coffees or eggs that were available but not offered in the buffet. We had to ask for a simple cappuccino every single day but one, on the last morning. The service did not meet a 5* but rather a 3*, since we had to chase them at all times. When it comes to the room. The rooms were nice and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. Everything is remotely controlled to make your life easier. The toilet and shower share the same sliding door, so if you are a couple and are using both amenities, you need to choose who gets the door. The shower is really nice with some jets on both sides. The balcony is big and protected, giving a nice touch to be outside. Overall, the hotel is a mid-4*, with poor service, but the hotel itself compensates a little. I would, however, recommend it for a weekend.

Enjoyable stay

This hotel is a little off the beaten path but in one of the more upscale neighborhoods of Athens so, very green and beautiful. All the staff were fantastic (I wish I could remember each of their names). The gentleman that helps you with your bags and parking (I think his name was Pericles) was the fantastic. Housekeeping was wonderful and helpful. I wish I could remember his name also. The front desk staff was very thoughtful. I had to get up @ 4 a.m. to catch my flight and would have missed breakfast they made a wonderful care package for me to take @ checkout. It included a piece of fruit, a sandwich and 2 yummy cookies. Loved the different juices they had at reception each day. The pools were beautiful and modern but very cold so I didn't get to dip in them. I'm all about being eco-friendly and not using single use plastics and look for hotels that are conscious of that. They have an electric car charger which I thought was fantastic! If I'd known I would have rented an electric car. I loved how the bottle of water they have waiting in the room for you was a glass one and you can reuse it. They don't have recycling bins around the hotel, unfortunately, but you can give your bottles or cans to reception and they recycle it for you. I liked how you can hang up your towels/robes if you don't want them to change them out and this helps conserve water. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't offer towels for the guests to take to the beach. This was the first hotel I've ever stayed at in Greece that didn't offer this. Everything in the room (shades, lights, exterior glass covering the balcony) was operable by remotes located next to the bed, on the wall by the balcony or on the wall as you entered the room. Some of them weren't working but the parts that I personally needed worked just fine.

Quiet, Friendly & Modern

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed June 3, 2024

Maybe too modern if you are very traditional. Toilets open to the room, beds a bit low and pillows with room for improvement (too hard). Pool should open earlier than 11. Now, the good parts: Fancy and functional room with automatic curtains which enables you to lazily laydown and let the sun in, weaking up slowly. A room facing the back with only trees in front of you. Total privacy 😁. Very Friendly staff. Good food at lunch and average breakfast but they do whatever you ask to bring the experience up. Great pool area without shade umbrellas because the trees do the job in a much loveliest way. Very peaceful even with the children. Attentive to guest needs. All demands from the room were promptly attended. A place I would go back without hesitation… and pleasure
