A modern marvel located inside an ancient city, NJV Athens Plaza - a Preferred Hotels & Resorts property, part of Preferred Hotel Group - swells with sophistication in this bustling Greece metropolis. Ideally located in Constitution Square, next to the Greek Parliament, this urban oasis offers spectacular views of the Acropolis. A lasting first impression begins inside the jeweled lobby, with its swirl of lounge chairs and stone embellishments. Members of the Parliament often descend upon the hotel for leisurely lunches and socializing. The compilation of rooms and suites evokes a chic and contemporary feel, with relaxing neutral tones and deep crimson accents. Suites have a designer presence, with influences from Ralph Lauren and Versace, plus jutting balconies and soundproof walls that provide a cocoon of comfort.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at NJV Athens Plaza Hotel. My family and I booked two rooms: a large suite and another room with two separate twin beds. Upon arrival, the hotel attempted to charge extra for my young son staying in the suite, and then tried to charge extra for an additional guest in the twin room, despite there being only two guests staying in a room that already had two beds. It simply made no sense and felt like an attempt to extract additional charges wherever possible. What made the situation worse was the attitude of the reception staff. The receptionist we dealt with was rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to find a solution. Rather than offering to speak with management or assist in resolving the issue, she repeatedly insisted on the charge and refused to escalate the matter. We asked for management involvement, but our concerns were ignored. The following day, we received another call to the room regarding the same issue and were once again pressured about payment. To our surprise, the hotel then proceeded to charge my card €120 for an alleged extra guest. This was extremely frustrating and left us feeling completely undervalued as customers. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that I have been a loyal guest of this hotel for many years. My family and I stay here regularly, usually twice a year, and have always chosen the property because of its excellent location. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly. The rooms are also showing their age and urgently need renovation. The room we were assigned was old, tired, and well below the standard expected of a hotel in this category. There are clearly upgraded rooms available, and it felt as though we were placed in an inferior room despite our long history with the hotel. The only reason we continue to consider this hotel is its location. Sadly, poor customer service, unnecessary charges, and outdated rooms have completely overshadowed that advantage. After this experience, I will seriously reconsider staying here again and cannot recommend the hotel to others.

My stay at NJV Athens Plaza was excellent from start to finish. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and very well maintained throughout my stay. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, ensuring the room was spotless and welcoming. What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. The reception team and all hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, professional, responsive, and genuinely service-oriented. Every request was handled promptly and with a smile, making us feel valued and well taken care of throughout our stay. The location is simply unbeatable. Situated directly at Syntagma Square, it is within walking distance of Athens’ major attractions, shopping streets, restaurants, and transportation links. For first-time visitors to Athens, I cannot imagine a more convenient location. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the in-room dining. The food was consistently good, and the service was efficient and reliable. NJV Athens Plaza combines outstanding service, comfort, and an unbeatable location. It made our visit to Athens seamless and enjoyable. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. For me, this is truly one of the best hotels in Athens. They are 100/10!!!

We had a suite and it was very big and luxurious. The bathroom was larger than most bathrooms in Europe. The room had all the amenities you would need. The only caution I would give would be that the traffic noise can be heard throughout the night. The breakfast were excellent and had lots of choices I would highly recommend this hotel for location to all the sites in Athens.

Just back from a week in Athens, staying at the NJV Athens Plaza. This was our 5th visit to Athens & we stayed at the NJV the last 3 times. It's a lovely, modern hotel in an ideal location, central to all the sights. Staff are very friendly and helpful and a special thanks to Anna Barda who helped us with our booking, she was such a lovely person when we met her during our stay. Breakfast was good and varied and staff very attentive. Our room was was kept exceptionally clean and bar staff friendly and efficient. We would love to return to Athens one day and would definitely stay at the NJV.

I stayed at NJV Athens Plaza from 16–20 April 2026, and again from 23–25 April 2026 after returning from an excursion to Meteora. I could not have been more pleased with my choice for my first visit to Athens. The location is exceptional—elegant, safe, and highly convenient. The hotel sits right by Syntagma Square, on the same block as the King George and the Hotel Grande Bretagne. The National Parliament is just steps away, and the hotel provides easy access to all the major attractions, including the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, National Gardens, Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Benaki Museum, Ermou Street, Monastiraki, the Ancient and Roman Agoras, as well as Plaka and Anafiotika, and many others. Service was impeccable throughout. Shortly after confirming my booking, the Front Office Team reached out to me to assist with pre-arrival arrangements, including airport transfers. (The hotel also offers convenient online pre-arrival check-in and pre-departure check-out.) The Team were consistently warm, professional, and attentive—whether assisting with directions, facilities, or restaurant reservations. Special thanks to Maria, Nikos, and Naxos for their outstanding service. For my first stay, I had booked a room with an Acropolis view and was pleasantly surprised by a thoughtful upgrade on arrival, which I greatly appreciated. For my second stay, I had booked a suite. Both were spacious, clean, very comfortable, and offered excellent views. The breakfast spread was equally impressive, with a wide and generous selection. This will certainly be my hotel of choice whenever I return to Athens.
