For $500 a night, I expected much better service and a much nicer room. Unfortunately, the room looked more like a Holiday Inn express —possibly even older and more worn out and damaged. I was honestly shocked when we checked in. We specifically booked a 5-star hotel with good reviews, and after a 15-hour flight, I was really looking forward to taking a relaxing bath and having a nice shower. Instead, the bathroom felt old, dusty, and extremely unwelcoming. The hairdryer attached to the wall wasn’t working and had a lot of dust on it. I called the front desk to ask for another one, but the person who answered was dismissive and seemed to have an attitude. He told me that I needed to plug it in outside the bathroom. I explained that the hairdryer was attached to the wall and couldn’t be unplugged. Instead of trying to help, he raised his voice and insisted that it wasn’t possible. I then asked for housekeeping to come and check it. A woman came up, checked the hairdryer, and said she didn’t know why it wasn’t working. She asked me to wait while she looked for another solution. She eventually came back and told me there was another hairdryer in the room. I had already looked everywhere because I thought there might be a second one, but it was tucked away and hidden on the bottom shelf in the back of the closet. Unfortunately, when I tried to use it, I found burned hair still stuck to the dryer. For a hotel charging $500 a night and presenting itself as a 5-star property, this level of room condition, cleanliness, and service was extremely disappointing. After a long international flight, this was certainly not the experience I expected.

I have been staying here every summer for many years. The staff is exceptional. The location is extremely convenient, close to great shopping, restaurants metro and tram stations. However you can easily walk to most top destinations. The rooms are great, especially if you get a view of the Acropolis. Highly recommend.

Stayed here as part of a Viking cruise extension. Viking needs to replace this from their rotation. Room decor was from the 1970’s. No seating for the balcony. No pool. Restaurant and bar were closed,staff saying they were being renovated (they weren’t) No seating area n the lobby to just hang out. The one cafe they had open, served me my lunch entree,but my wife had to wait 45 minutes for hers. Poorly managed. There are much better places in Athens to stay. This isn’t one of them.

I’d give this hotel an 4.2. It’s conveniently located on syntagma square. It’s right next door to 2 hotels that will charge $800 +. We paid around $400+. You can get on any of the hop-on hop-off buses 1/2 block from hotel. There are many restaurants within 1 block. Taxis are always available. Our very spacious room was on the top floor (accessible by separate small and hot elevator). It faced the side street and was quiet. It had a big bathroom, but the lighting was awful. No light above or near the shower. And poor vanity lighting. It could’ve been vacuumed better. The bed was comfortable tho. And it had an in room safe! The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast. We opted to include it. Worth EVERY PENNY! The buffet had fruit (delicious honeydew melon, sliced oranges, grapes etc), fresh squeezed orange juice, wonderful strong coffee, eggs, French toast, oatmeal and all the toppings, meats and cheeses, croissants, and assorted delicious pastries, and a wooden honeycomb tray straight from the bee hive! Check in staff was friendly and welcoming. Dining staff weren’t as hospitable, but the breakfast selection made up for that!

Best location .breakfast was great, staff were lovely. Well priced hotel for its location. Rooms were lovely and updated. Have stayed here 5 years in a row so far, and looking forward to next year too..
