We arrived at the JW Marriott Auckland in the evening and the check in process was smooth as it wasn't busy. The newly renovated room we had was quite spacious and tastefully decorated. All of the staff members interacted with at the hotel were friendly. The location of this hotel is phenomenal. It is close to many attractions that Auckland has to offer. We walked to many sights and sounds and never felt too winded. This was our second time to the Auckland we much preferred this hotel to a previous one. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the JW Marriott Auckland and we would choose to stay here again on future stays!

The hotel is clean and quiet. The gym at 10th has great view. The double bed room is large enough for a family with two teenagers. There is no lounge, but we get the free breakfast at the restaurant as Titanium member. They also prepared breakfast boxes for us since we had to leave earlier for flight. The hotel staff are very friendly. We want to thank Ling at the bar. She was very helpful and provided us a lot of tips about local restaurants and attractions, which we did not find on Internet. I would stay at JW again for the next visit.

Great location. Newly refurbished rooms, which are tastefully done. Service was a bit patchy but a standout was Deepika who was at the hotel reception. Great attention to detail and follow-through. However, the room heating was broken in winter (despite a recent refurbishment!). Hotel did not respond to messages sent via the app and the manager on duty did not follow-up when I highlighted the issue with heating and the lack of a dressing gown. Requested foam pillow never arrived until I went to reception the next day. Tried calling reception but no one answered (though it was late in the evening). Hopefully service standards will improve with time.

This is the second year in a row that we visited Auckland in their winter and stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel. We chose it in part because it’s down in the center city close to the waterfront and Viaduct Harbor. Albert Street runs parallel to and a short block over from Queen Street, one of the city’s main shopping areas. Comnmercial Bay, and large indoor mall with many stores, restaurants, and a diverse food court, is a short block away. In 2024, the upper floors of the hotel were undoing an extensive renovation, and this year we enjoyed an upgrade to a newly renovated 10th floor room, the top floor of the hotel (which shares the building with condominium apartments). The room was roomy, with a view out over the city and a glimpse of the harbor in the distance, where freighters were being loaded and unloaded. It had everything we needed, including lots of plugs for our various devices (iPads, iPhones, Apple Watches, etc.). There is an in-room safe, everything you need to brew up a cup of tea or coffee, a mini refrigerator, and a large screen tv. The bathroom includes a large tub as well as a separate shower. The Trivet Restaurant, just off the main lobby on the ground floor, served an amazing breakfast buffet, and a New Zealand-focused menu through the day. We found the room service to be excellent! The Forum bar in the lobby offers an afternoon Happy House, which is free for Marriott elite members. We enjoyed that perk every day during our stay. We found all the staff very attentive, and quick to affer assistance. There are taxis available outside, and Uber rides available within minutes, as well as Auckland Transit buses. It isn’t the least expensive place to stay in Austin, but with the U.S.-NZ exchange rate, it is very reasonable for what it offers. We found it worth every penny
