My girlfriend and I ended our trip to New Zealand at Trivet and could not have had a more perfect meal. The lamb belly and pasta were to die for and Fernanda’s hospitality and recommendations were on point. We can’t wait to come back.

This is the worst experience I have had in any Marriott property. This is not. At all to a JW standard ...service in a poor and breakfast substandard I'am a Titanium Elite for life and on interaction with the Director at JW in this topic he commended on how fantastic the Hyatt property is and how much he is looking forward to going there ..that shows I do not recommend this hotel ..choose another luxury brand at this location

Took two rooms and stayed three nights here. As an Ambassador Elite member, I do not feel this top tier status of Marriot Bonvoy is very much welcomed here, compared to other Marriot hotels. There was no upgrade to my room, and of course the usual answer is that the suites are limited, and any upgrade is subject to availability. In fact, I have no problem with that. My only bad experience with this hotel is the room heating. In the cold winter night, I was freezing in the room despite turning on the air conditioning to 26C! It made no difference but a kind housekeeping staff who came for the turn down service noticed it and brought me a portable heater. Even that, it didn’t help much. Breakfast wise is fine, but it is rather inconvenient just to order a hot drink or a fried egg! The front desk staff were generally friendly but not the staff serving the lobby happy hours because the lounge is under renovation. The way I was interrogated about my room details in order just to enjoy a drink there put me off. If there is any good thing I can say about this hotel is perhaps its location, especially the Japanese restaurant across the street as till today I still miss their dishes!

The JW Marriott in Auckland is polished, modern and well located in the city. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience, but some things to be aware of. My room was a fairly recently renovated deluxe on an upper floor. The “upper floor” part, however, was less of a brag than the front desk made it out to be. Instead of views of Auckland’s skyline or harbor, the window gazed into the glass elevator shaft of the residence entrance. If you enjoy watching strangers rise and fall at regular intervals, this could be thrilling. The room itself was well decorated with a chaise lounge and a comfortable bed, though the bathroom suggested the renovation budget had been stretched just shy of the finish line. At night, the walls turned out to be thin enough that I learned more about my neighbors’ dinner plans than I ever intended. Breakfast was fine. The service was very scattered. Getting a basic coffee felt like an achievement unlocked; asking for a latte (an upcharge, of course) was near impossible. Meanwhile, the buffet played a daily game of roulette with the eggs. One morning they were dry enough to crumble like old parchment. The next they shimmered on the edge of raw, practically begging to be reclassified as a smoothie. All that being said, I would stay here again given the competitive pricing compared with other JW Marriotts.

The staff are very nice and patient. The room is clean and comfortable. I love the lotion and shampoo they provide, with aroma oil in it, really soothes my mind.
