Park Hyatt Auckland

The restaurant here was fantastic, and we had a wonderful time celebrating a friend's birthday. Sadly, our experience with one of the doormen (an Asian gentleman, approximately in his 40s) was extremely disappointing. His attitude was unnecessarily rude, unwelcoming, and far below the level of hospitality expected at Park Hyatt.

Among Hyatt's brands, Andaz and Park Hyatt have always been the ones I trusted and admired the most. Sadly, this stay became the worst hotel experience of my life. I live overseas while my daughter lives in New Zealand, so I traveled there during her winter school holiday and booked this hotel. After spending so much time apart, I wanted to create precious memories with her, and the heated swimming pool was the primary reason I chose this property during the winter season. However, just one hour after checking in, we discovered that the pool heating system was not working. What was even more disappointing was that the hotel appeared to have been unaware of the problem. The pool was left operating without heating, and the staff could not even tell us when the system had failed or when it would be repaired. Since I had to return to my home country only a few days later, I asked whether I could either reschedule or cancel my reservation. I was told this was impossible because I had booked through an online travel agency. Instead, the only solution offered was that I could return on another day after the repair was completed and use the pool then. Considering that I might no longer be in New Zealand by that time, this was neither a practical nor a fair solution. As a result, the special day I had planned with my daughter was completely ruined. What should have become a precious family memory ended up being nothing more than an expensive place to sleep for one night. To make matters worse, I had never requested a room upgrade at check-in, yet the hotel presented a so-called "upgrade" as though it were doing me a great favor. In reality, the room had no balcony, and it faced a large building directly in front of it, leaving virtually no meaningful view. It was not only disappointing but also frustrating and misleading. I paid a premium price for a specific experience, but the hotel failed to deliver what was promised. Instead of offering a fair resolution, it provided only unrealistic alternatives while taking away valuable time that I could never get back with my family. It felt as though avoiding the loss of a room night's revenue was more important to the hotel than respecting a guest's once-in-a-lifetime family vacation. If you book this hotel through an online travel agency and are treated unfairly, you may find yourself with no meaningful options and simply forced to accept the situation. That feeling of helplessness is something no guest should ever experience. If you expect the respect, care, and genuine hospitality that Park Hyatt is known for, do not expect to find it at Park Hyatt Auckland. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone expecting the exceptional service and attention to detail that the Park Hyatt brand represents. It falls far below the standards that should be expected from Hyatt's flagship luxury brand. Furthermore, I strongly urge Hyatt Hotels Corporation to seriously reconsider whether this property deserves to continue operating under the Park Hyatt name. In my opinion, it does not reflect the reputation, values, or standards associated with the Park Hyatt brand. I sincerely hope I never have to experience another hotel stay as disappointing as this one. 하얏트 브랜드 중 안다즈와 파크 하얏트는 제가 항상 가장 신뢰하고 존경해 온 브랜드였습니다. 하지만 안타깝게도 이번 숙박은 제 인생 최악의 호텔 경험이 되었습니다. 저는 해외에 살고 있고 딸은 뉴질랜드에 살고 있어서 딸의 겨울 방학 때 뉴질랜드로 여행을 갔고 이 호텔을 예약했습니다. 오랫동안 떨어져 지냈던 딸과 소중한 추억을 만들고 싶었고, 특히 겨울철에 이 호텔을 선택한 가장 큰 이유는 온수 수영장 때문이었습니다. 하지만 체크인한 지 불과 한 시간 만에 수영장 난방 시스템이 작동하지 않는다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 더 실망스러운 것은 호텔 측에서 이 문제를 전혀 모르고 있었다는 점입니다. 수영장은 난방 없이 운영되었고, 직원들은 언제 고장이 났는지, 언제 수리될 예정인지조차 알려주지 못했습니다. 며칠 후 고국으로 돌아가야 했기에 예약을 변경하거나 취소할 수 있는지 문의했습니다. 하지만 온라인 여행사를 통해 예약했기 때문에 불가능하다는 답변을 들었습니다. 대신 수리가 완료된 후 다른 날에 다시 방문하여 수영장을 이용하라는 안내만 받았습니다. 제가 그때쯤이면 뉴질랜드에 없을 수도 있다는 점을 고려했을 때, 이는 현실적이지도 않고 공정한 해결책도 아니었습니다. 결과적으로 딸과 함께 계획했던 특별한 날은 완전히 망쳐졌습니다. 소중한 가족 추억이 되어야 할 시간이 하룻밤 비싼 숙박비로 끝나버렸습니다. 설상가상으로, 저는 체크인 시 객실 업그레이드를 요청한 적이 없었는데, 호텔 측에서는 마치 큰 호의를 베푸는 것처럼 소위 "업그레이드"를 제공했습니다. 실제로 그 방에는 발코니도 없었고, 바로 앞에 큰 건물이 있어서 제대로 된 전망을 볼 수조차 없었습니다. 실망스러웠을 뿐만 아니라, 화가 나고 기만적인 처사였습니다. 저는 특정한 경험을 위해 프리미엄 가격을 지불했지만, 호텔은 약속한 것을 제공하지 못했습니다. 공정한 해결책을 제시하는 대신, 호텔은 비현실적인 대안만 제시하며 가족과 함께 다시는 되찾을 수 없는 소중한 시간을 빼앗았습니다. 호텔 측은 투숙객의 일생에 단 한 번뿐인 가족 휴가를 존중하는 것보다 하룻밤 숙박비 손실을 막는 데 더 신경을 쓰는 것처럼 느껴졌습니다. 온라인 여행사를 통해 이 호텔을 예약했는데 부당한 대우를 받았다면, 마땅한 선택권이 없어 상황을 받아들일 수밖에 없을지도 모릅니다. 그런 무력감은 어떤 투숙객도 경험해서는 안 될 것입니다. 파크 하얏트가 자랑하는 존중, 배려, 그리고 진정한 환대를 기대하신다면, 파크 하얏트 오클랜드에서는 그런 서비스를 기대하지 마십시오. 파크 하얏트 브랜드가 상징하는 탁월한 서비스와 세심한 배려를 기대하는 분들께는 이 호텔을 절대 추천하지 않습니다. 하얏트의 플래그십 럭셔리 브랜드에 걸맞은 기준에 한참 못 미칩니다. 더 나아가, 하얏트 호텔 코퍼레이션이 이 호텔을 파크 하얏트라는 이름으로 계속 운영할 가치가 있는지 진지하게 재고해 주시기를 강력히 촉구합니다. 제 생각에 이 호텔은 파크 하얏트 브랜드의 명성, 가치, 그리고 기준에 부합하지 않습니다. 다시는 이처럼 실망스러운 호텔 투숙 경험을 하고 싶지 않습니다.

Top-end spa and workout facilities. Beautiful dining venues. The room and modern technology appurtenant to that experience were five-star. Linens and housekeeping over the top. Probably the best hotel in Auckland.

I had a staycation recently at the Park Hyatt. It’s my second time, the first being in between Covid lockdowns when the hotel was very new. The pros - the location and 5 star hotel facilities, fantastic spa and the staff. The cons - it’s starting to show wear and tear in the rooms and indoor pool area and thengym was very basic. I personally don’t like the void design but some people do. There is not a huge choice in Auckland so this is a good pick. I want to say a special thank you to Nuri who went above and beyond to ensure I had restful stay - amazing hospitality.

Great location, value for money, awesome dining experience and superb customer service team, even the local service dog, Beau. 100% must try Onemata, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner.
