Our stay at the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour was memorable and luxurious, highlighted by its stunning harbor views and exceptional service. Pros: • The staff were outstanding — attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. • The food was excellent, from breakfast to dinner, with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. 🥐 • The location couldn’t be better, right on the harbor with easy access to restaurants and city attractions. • The pool and wellness area offered a lovely spot to relax, stylishly designed and well maintained.🏊🏼 • We stayed in the Presidential Suite, and the views were absolutely breathtaking — a true standout feature of the hotel. Cons: • We noticed a small issue with ants in the bathroom, which felt out of place in a suite of this level.🐜 • While the Club Lounge was elegant and the staff wonderful, the canapés didn’t quite measure up to what you’d expect from other five-star properties in the same tier.🥟 Overall: The Sofitel Auckland delivers a refined experience with world-class service, incredible views, and prime harbor access. Despite a few small lapses, the overall stay was delightful. A special thank you to Careem and Shane for their exceptional service — they made our visit feel truly personalized and memorable. We’d happily return for the views, the hospitality, and the unmistakable Sofitel charm.

The Sofitel as a whole was a great venue for our honeymoon, but the club added an extra layer of luxury to our trip. We met Alfredo on one of our first visits, and he was such a treat to speak with. Always brought a laugh or a great story of his travels, and made us feel like we were at home with family. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed his company and wish we were staying longer to have another glass of wine along with some banter. Would highly recommend adding club access to your stay, and make sure you chat with the team to add a level of welcomeness that you may not have thought possible!

We have enjoyed a 2 night getaway at Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour and enjoyed all that Sofitel had to offer. The Club Lounge has been much improved since a previous stay, so a big shout out to Sofitel for upgrading this experience.

The Sofitel has always been our go to when we visit the city. There have been a lot of changes and although still comfortable it no longer has the same "spoilt" atmosphere. The room was well appointed, clean and the outlook nice. Air con appears to still not be fixed despite many months since our last visit. We will continue to use this hotel as it is convenient and overall good service and clean comfortable rooms. But since the excellent rooms we used to book have been taken over by another entity the hotel is adequate - no longer the treat it used to be.

What should’ve been a great to my wonderful New Zealand trip was lackluster. Hotel had no air-conditioning. After sleeping in a hot room all night with a tiny little fan I asked the next day what was up with that and they said there was no air-conditioning. I was never notified and they said yes when you booked it, you should have been. I’m also a travel agent, and there was nothing in our booking system and any other resources that said it was out. They tried to blame it on me not reading information. However, it doesn’t excuse the fact that they also didn’t advise me when I checked in. When I got home, I double checked resources and there was nothing about having no air-conditioning. Wrote an email when I got back advising, I was disappointed in having a hot room. I have never had a reply. The restaurant staff were amazing. The concierge was very good as well. It has a great location, but it’s the demeanor of the front desk that I was less than impressed with. The wait staff is the only reason I am not giving this a one star. Not that it’s not a beautiful hotel but it’s because you don’t have a hotel of this caliber not have air-conditioning for several months.
