The staff was very hospitable and the Hotel had a very classy look. I happened to peak into the Spa and it looks inviting. The parking wasnt an issue and the French Restuarant had some amazing menu along with the freshly baked bread served in a unquie manner. A must try incase you are out on Viaduct the Hotel had an exclusive walkway wheer we could click memories. I heard some guest talk about the rooms and standrad which surely will be a treat for travellers.

Stayed there for one night and used their valet parking service, After we got vehicle and left the fist stop we made I found that the right front guard had a big scrape mark I contacted them the next day after a bout five phone calls i finally talked to the duty manager he said he will investigate there cctv footage. After approximately 3 weeks of me phoning every couple of days and not getting anywhere I got an email saying that the damage did not happen whilst in there valet system, When I took our veichle to our local panel he showed me another car he had there he was working on and guess what , it was damaged at the Sofitel whilst being valeted, as you could imagine this made me really happy, all it would have taken was a free nights accommodation to go towards the insurance excess but no they were not interested, so I won’t be staying there again.

Well furnished, good location, good amenities, and very friendly staff. Was very happy with the stay here and would certainly consider coming again.

Modeled on the European hotel room style (small space), it has the basics. La Maree restaurant serves a good breakfast and dinner – but nothing outstanding. The location is a short walk to the ferry terminal. It’s a place to sleep and go somewhere else.

We were here with a Tauck tour group, but why they chose this hotel baffles me. This is a very odd hotel, no where close to the the standards of other Sofitels we've stayed at. The room is attractive, and those public spaces that were open are as well. But there is something seriously off with the management here. For instance, there is no thermostadt to control air conditioning, just an unlabeled knob that turns without resistance in either direction for as many turns as you have endurance, and seems to be permanently stuck in iceberg mode. Heat is a standalone "autoeco" device that does allow you to set a digital thermometer, but seems to run too long, putting the room in sauna mode. Other people on our tour said that they experienced the same problems. In our room, the coffee maker didn't function, but the next day they did replace it with one that works. The hotel restaurant should, being a Sofitel, be good, but is middling at best. Maybe I was just unlucky -- my appetizer with literally inedible (really unchewable; it was octopus not cooked long enough), and my main course, well they waited until the other peoples food was delivered to inform me that they had run out of it. It doesn't help my feelings about the place that the next day I came down with all the symptons of food poisining, but I don't have any reason to think that the hotel was a fault.
