I have only stayed at the Driskill two times, yet it only took me one to decide to come back every time I happen to need to stay in downtown Austin. The hotel is stunning, with something to look at at every corner of the hotel. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Rooms are incredibly comfy and cozy and have the expected (and more) amenities. I loved my stay so much, and their 100% cotton room robes, that I bought a robe from the front desk! The location of the hotel is super convenient for downtown atmosphere. It is in the heart of the city and close to shopping, restaurants, night life, and the capitol building - perfect to daily walks. I will be back, highly recommend you give this hotel a try!

For my daughter’s 16th birthday, all she wanted was to go stay at The Driskill because she had seen her favorite YouTubers go here and “hunt ghosts”. I had stayed for a girls trip several years before and knew I would love to go back! My friend and I took my daughter and her two friends from Lubbock to Austin and the staff went above and beyond! They had a birthday card waiting for her in the room that everyone had signed, they took the time to tell her some “spooky stories” and what to look out for, and they even encouraged us to wander the hotel after dark. We had no scary experiences (luckily) All positive! I will definitely be back!

Witnessed a coordinated fraud operation at this venue on June 4, 2026. A woman approached solo diners at the bar. Hotel staff seated her and her target adjacent to associates posing as fellow Australian nationals. The waiter unsolicited confirmed the adjacent party's nationality, providing social proof. One individual introduced himself using the identity of a Melbourne defense lawyer who died in 2005. Conversation included casual references to quantum encryption investments. This is consistent with a pig butchering fraud operation. Formal complaints have been filed with the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), the Texas Attorney General fraud division, Austin Police Department, and federal law enforcement. Travelers and solo diners at this venue should exercise caution.

This hotel is too-notch! My daughter dreamed of staying her for years and decided to forgo a birthday party for 2 nights at the Driskill. She knows all the history. We spent so much time exploring the hotel and its secrets. Luxury with a story! 1886 has a great cinnamon roll and chocolate croissant. Great French 75s at the bar. Sounds crazy but their fries and ranch are great! Make sure to see the entire hotel, including the 4th and 5th floor. Also, find out what’s on the 13th floor.
