Fairmont Austin

Overall very nice hotel. We upgraded for the lounge access which was nice. Hotel was clean and conveniently located. Only gave 3 stars because we chose based in part on the resort pool. We looked forward to having some drinks at the pool but the pool bar is only open till 5 Sun-Tues. Wednesday was our last day, and their adjacent bar opened at 5, and they advertised happy hour from 5-6. So we waited till the evening when it was cool to go grab a drink and swim only to learn their bar was closed for a private event. There is no shade over the pool unless you book a private cabana. So we were a bit disappointed in the ability to get a drink at the pool in the evening hours. Of course it saved us a lot of money because the one day we did get a drink just before closing it was 54$ for a margarita and one beer.

Loved everything about Fairmont - its location, rooms, ambience, dining options - all of them. The location suited us perfectly, Rooms are quite large with a great view

Josh at Fulton (lobby bar) was spectacular! My husband and I felt welcome and well taken care of. The drinks were great! Highly recommend!

Josh absolutely made our visit to the Fairmont. From the moment we sat down, he was warm, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what he does. His cocktail recommendations were spot-on, and every drink was crafted with incredible attention to detail. What really stood out was how effortlessly he balanced professionalism with personality. He made us feel like regulars, kept the conversation flowing when appropriate, and anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. That level of hospitality is rare. If you’re lucky enough to grab a seat at Josh’s bar, you’re in for a fantastic experience. Great drinks are easy to find, but bartenders who elevate your entire evening are much harder to come by. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for Josh.

From the valet to the guest services to the resort style pool. It was just a perfect stay for a local Austin couple to escape and feel like you went to Vegas or Miami.
