So the bed and pillows were great. That’s about where my good part of the review ends. First let’s lead with the up charges. Firstly, I bring my own Roku everywhere. The TVs at the hotel have a chromecast connected to it with a sign that says $75 charge for tampering. So I can’t use my Roku. To add onto this, it won’t connect to my own hotspot, so I am forced to pay $25 a day for streamable internet. I bought the internet and it couldn’t even connect the damn chromecast. I will say they refunded my money, but that’s just mediocre. Second case of upcharging… they have a required $35 charge for an amenities package that I don’t use per day, and when I said I didn’t use it I meant it. You get a $15 drink credit… guys the drinks at this hotel start at $25 just saying. A $10 food credit which again… not spending $28 for 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 toast, and a muffin. Third case of upcharging and this is THE MOST horrendous one is that THEY CHARGE $55 A DAY FOR YOU TO PARK AT THE HOTEL! I would entirely understand if you are charging people who aren’t staying at the overpriced rooms… but holy crap IM PAYING FOR A ROOM! Now beyond that. Water pressure in the shower was non existent. And I cranked the AC to 65, I don’t think it dropped below 70in my room. All in all not worth it.

We’ve been staying at the Fairmont Austin since 2019 and absolutely love it every time. Each visit feels special, and over the years, we've gotten to know some of the wonderful team members who make this hotel stand out. One of our first memorable encounters was with Nature at the front desk. She was so attentive and made us feel incredibly welcomed during check-in—her warmth truly left a lasting impression. Now, we’re thrilled to see her working in the lounge on the concierge floor, where she continues to go above and beyond. It’s always a treat to catch up with her. We also had the pleasure of meeting Rushdy Boutly, the Director of Front Office, while visiting the concierge lounge. He was gracious, engaging, and clearly passionate about guest experience—another example of the incredible leadership and hospitality that sets the Fairmont apart. We met Kevin several years ago while he was bartending at the lively lobby bar, which is one of our favorite spots thanks to the nightly live music and energetic atmosphere. Kevin mentioned he also works a few nights a week at the hotel’s Champagne and Caviar bar—a hidden gem we hadn’t discovered before. We decided to check it out and were blown away. It’s a luxurious, high-end experience complete with a pianist, guitarist, and of course, Kevin’s fun and creative cocktails. While we were there, Ran at the Champagne and Caviar bar went above and beyond when we mentioned how much we loved Jellyfish beer. He personally went out of his way to get it from another restaurant within the Fairmont and brought it back to us. Now that is exceptional customer service—creating an experience we will never forget, and we were so appreciative of him going the extra mile. The Fairmont team knows how to turn a stay into a truly unforgettable experience. Their attention to detail and personal touches are why we keep coming back again and again. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

The hotel is very nice and busy. We love all the food options they provide. The room had a smell to it, but didn’t know if it was due to AC being turned off. We left a phone charger behind and I figured it would have been returned by staff so I could send a family member to grab it. I know it’s not worth a lot, but if staff can’t turn it small items, it makes me wonder if they will turn in higher priced items left behind.

Everything about Fairmount was amazing. The customer service was awesome. The spa and pool is top notch. We also enjoyed the restaurant choices in and outside of the hotel.
