Stayed for a few nights to see the city. Welcomed by great night shift staff on reception and were pleased with the spacious room with great views. Don’t worry about the construction outside it’s not that noisy. Tasty breakfast with more great service. We used the gym and pool each day. My only suggestion is they clean the pool and pool furniture which were both a bit grubby. Good position for exploring Austin.

I've stayed at most of the downtown Austin hotels over the years, and the Fairmont is my go-to every single time. The staff are fantastic and the property is everything you could ask for. One thing worth mentioning: there's a massive construction site across the street. It sounds worse than it is. The hotel is so well insulated for sound that it never really became an issue during my stay. My only real gripe is breakfast. If you book a rate that includes it, don't plan on eating in your room. In-room dining wasn't accepting any orders for the entirety of the Sunday I was set to check out. Plan to eat downstairs instead. That one hiccup aside, the Fairmont stays my first choice anytime I'm in Austin for business.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at the Fairmont. The spa experience was the highlight with the use of the dry sauna, steam room, ice bath after the message. The entire experience was excellent and we will be back. The outdoor pool and adjoining bar with happy hour was very active. The location is excellent given proximity to river and Rainey street. The only slight negative is the rooms are somewhat dated but large and comfortable. I would definitely recommend The Fairmont for a weekend getaway.

Overall very nice hotel. We upgraded for the lounge access which was nice. Hotel was clean and conveniently located. Only gave 3 stars because we chose based in part on the resort pool. We looked forward to having some drinks at the pool but the pool bar is only open till 5 Sun-Tues. Wednesday was our last day, and their adjacent bar opened at 5, and they advertised happy hour from 5-6. So we waited till the evening when it was cool to go grab a drink and swim only to learn their bar was closed for a private event. There is no shade over the pool unless you book a private cabana. So we were a bit disappointed in the ability to get a drink at the pool in the evening hours. Of course it saved us a lot of money because the one day we did get a drink just before closing it was 54$ for a margarita and one beer.
