Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Austin

Underwhelming

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Unfortunately, our experience at Four Seasons Austin was underwhelming from start to finish. The valet interaction set the tone, as the service was not particularly friendly or welcoming. We came for afternoon tea, and while the tea itself was fine, the service did not feel polished or professional at the level I would expect from a Four Seasons. Our waitress in particular seemed inexperienced and somewhat disengaged, almost as though she were a temporary summer employee rather than part of a luxury hospitality team. She did not check in with us during the experience and never offered to refill our tea. Nothing was disastrously wrong, but the overall experience lacked the warmth, attentiveness, and refined service that I associate with the Four Seasons brand. Given the reputation and price point, I expected considerably more. The difference was especially noticeable compared with the Fairmont, where we stayed, and Miraval, which we visited for the day. Both delivered a much warmer and more polished hospitality experience. Four Seasons was easily the least impressive of the three.

Wonderful View

A rare update due to a starkly better experience. The commercial sales director was wonderful and was able to resolve a booking issue. So after previously having nothing but bad times here (loud construction noise, water going out in my room), I gave Four Seasons another shot. I’m leased to report that I can see what (some) of the fuss is actually about with these good reviews. From the bellman to the housekeeping to concierge, the hotel staff was wonderful. The room was clean, especially the shower which was spotless. The view was amazing from the 9th floor overlooking ladybird lake. The TV…. Did not work. Chalk it up to a mundane could happen anywhere issue I guess. There was also a minor communication gap about it, again, whatever. As a guy that likes bottled water in my hotel, I’m happy to report there was water everywhere. In fancy glass bottles, I think they gave me like 8 of them. Overall this is a really nice hotel, in an excellent location.

Wonderful spot in Austin; resort style vibe in the middle of downtown.

This was a pleasent surprise. Off the bat, this has the vibe & quality of a resort style Four Seasons property - but located at the heart of Austin Downtown. It was peak time during our visit, as its the World Cup, and one of the teams were camping there. Despite of the occupancy rate pressure; service was impeccible. This is a good Four Seasons property, and for sure the best 5 star experience in town by far.

Centrally Located 5-Star Four Seasons in Austin

Exactly what you would expect from a Four Seasons. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the rooms and amenities were of incredibly high quality, and you can't beat the location. The hotel is in the heart of everything, and so many great shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. My room also overlooked Lady Bird Lake, and the views were incredible. Since I was here on business I didn't spend a ton of time at the hotel however, I did have a drink at the bar in the lobby, which was erred in a glass cowboy boot which was fun. The hotel also had a partnership going with Vivrelle which I thought was cool. Would highly recommend choosing this hotel whether you are in town for business or leisure, it's hard to beat.
