About the Hotel

Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

We stumbled upon this hotel because we wanted to stay on South Congress, and it was the highlight of our trip. It is so centrally located, so cool, the pool is amazing, the food is awesome, the service is incredible, and the rooms are awesome. It just made our Austin trip absolutely incredible.

This hotel is so adorable and it's located in a great area! The area is safe and surrounded by so many things to do. There's plenty of shopping and great restaurants to walk to. Rainy street and 6th street is only 2 miles away if you want to bar hop, but if you don't want all the craziness, this place is perfect. The lake is only 1 mile away. The staff was great too. Everyone was attentive, sweet, and professional. I can't wait to return to this cute hotel.

I stayed here for me very first solo trip and I loved it! The staff were exceptional and my room was perfect! You can't beat this location. I was able to walk around and shop, get a facial, eat great food and go see live music all on SoCo. I will stay here again!
