About the Hotel
Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

Weekend break
Stayed here for a quick overnight visit. Great location just off of South Congress but suprisingly quiet. All the staff was wonderful, they gave us some awesome recommendations and provided us with a fan for some white noise. The room immaculate with a separate living area and screened in porch.

Amazing management!
We definitely plan to come back! The manager, Justina, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful holiday experience! She was super attentive to our family’s unique needs as we were traveling with a baby. The room was very clean and everyone was so kind! Major improvements from the last time we were here!

Romance and Relaxation
Romantic getaway. Basically perfect for what we were looking for. Private and comfortable, clean, cool. We had great service across the board, and were able to spend a couple nights in love over Christmas in a beautiful suite. Couldn't be happier with the experience.

Great night in SoCo
Great hotel off of South Congress. Walkable to everything in the area. Quick ride share to 6th street or everything downtown. Room was clean and very nice. Staff was extremely responsive and very helpful. The location being walkable was great, didn’t need the car for the stay so that was awesome. We didn’t bring swimming gear but the pool looks great, if we come with the kiddo I’m sure he would love it. Would stay again. Highly suggest booking a reservation at the speakeasy, great fun and atmosphere.

Exceptional Service from Colton and Ivy. Seamless Early Check-In and Perfect Sunlit Room!
Colton and Ivy made my early check-in experience seamless! I called the night before arrival, and Colton kindly accommodated my request for an early check-in (I was landing at 9 AM and needed to jump straight into scheduled business calls). When I arrived, Ivy efficiently checked me in and even assigned a bright, sunlit room—just what I had hoped for. I highly recommend this hotel!
