The Café at The Loren is my go-to spot after a walk around Town Lake. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming—perfect for sitting with a coffee and unwinding, especially with my dog by my side. What really makes this place special, though, is the staff. Brian is always a friendly face—so kind, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of every time you walk in. It’s those personal touches that keep me coming back again and again. It’s my favorite place to get an almond milk latte

The Loren has a fantastic location for visiting Austin. The Coffee shop on ground level and Nido Restaurant on rooftop both good quality and good view of the city . If you have children or grand's its' a short walk to a fantastic playground and water feature for them to play for hours, you can even walk to whole foods and get picnic items to bring.

I noted in the booking comments that we were celebrating a birthday, and they kindly upgraded us to a Family Suite on the 4th floor. That was a thoughtful gesture and definitely appreciated. (Although I am always given a free room upgrade when I book through AMEX 😉) That said, I don’t think we would stay here again due to the noise. They do leave earplugs on the nightstands—which help—but they’re not a complete solution. To be fair, the view from our room was almost a worthwhile tradeoff and one of the highlights of the stay. There are likely other rooms with less noise if you ask when booking, but you may have to give up that view.

We booked and pre-paid for a two bedroom suite with my 91 year old father who has dementia as we need to keep a close watch on him. The afternoon of our arrival we received a call saying the room was not available for our stay and they were working on other options. Upon arrival we were given two separate rooms on the same floor but not adjoining or adjacent and that they would comp one room for the trouble which I thought was a nice gestire. However we only received a 15% discount on one room. The manager was not in at the time and the front desk acknowledged the error and said a manager would call me which never happened. I have reached out to the hotel repeatedly with no response back. Whether the front desk mis-spoke about the comp or not, the decency of a reply would have been appreciated rather than just ignoring the entire issue. The room was booked over a month in advance and it has been almost a week with no response.

My spouse and I recently booked a staycation at The Loren for our anniversary, and we had an absolutely incredible time! The downtown location is simply perfect—close to everything but still feeling like a true luxury getaway. The staff went above and beyond to make our celebration special, surprising us with a beautiful welcome package in our room that included a bottle of prosecco and macarons. It was such a thoughtful touch that really set the tone for the trip. We also spent some time at their restaurant, Nido. The drinks were fantastic, and the views of the city are unmatched. If you are a local looking for a top-tier staycation spot, we cannot recommend The Loren enough. We will definitely be back!
