Reviews for The Loren Austin

Terrible

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Checked in and shower grate was fully detached and just propped up in the shower with inside drainage exposed. Tried to tell the receptionist many times politely and was just offered to PAY extra money to upgrade. She seemed to not want to make it right and brushed it off. Completely unacceptable to check into a room that way at a five star luxury hotel. Checked out and was charged an extra $25 on breakfast with just “other” on a receipt that didn’t match the receipt I had. Again, receptionist just said “sorry I don’t really know how they bill things up there”. It felt like a waste of time to try to resolve with the staff because no one seemed to care. At Valet, our car was brought out and parked and we stood there asking for help/the keys while valet staff ignored us. We had to stand there staring at our car. We were disappointed and honestly surprised by the poor experience we had. We were very much looking forward to our stay.

This beautiful property was a vacation in itself! So many thoughtful touches made our stay comfortable and relaxing. And, it is across the street from easy access to lovely walking paths along the lake and many other things to see and do. We enjoyed exploring the city, but always looked forward to returning to our comfy room at The Loren.

Love to come for a coffee here. First of all coffee is good, but then also love the staff. Julijana and Enrik are incredible. Love seeing their faces ones a week.

Not a peaceful, quiet stay, but conveniently located.

Be aware this hotel is located at the corner of two of Austin's busiest streets. It is loud. You will here noise from the road all night. From emergency vehicles to sports cars racing, to bicycle carts with music blaring. The showers are worn down and leave a lot to be desired. The rooftop pool is a joke. It is no more than 5 ft wide and maybe 12 ft long, and really beat up. There are maybe 12 chairs out there, no view, and it just feels gross. There are no access to boats through the hotel like advertised on their social media pages. The staff is very kind, pool side food and drink service is really good and quick fries and lychee martinis were yummy. The cafe's drinks were great and their staff was super friendly. Valet was great (make sure to get Texas residents discount so valet is free).
