For when you need to lay back, lean in, or get immersed in the flavors and culture of the live music capital of the world, you know something memorable is about to happen at Thompson Austin. A place for locals and visitors to let loose poolside or at the restaurants and bars, where the luxe, contemporary vibe is signature Thompson — bold but not showy, complex yet confidently relaxed. With dramatic Austin cityscape views on display, the residential feel of the accommodations creates a setting to refresh and get ready for anything. Check into rooms, suites or residences offering moody hues, gorgeous custom furnishings, floor-to-ceiling windows with roller shade window coverings, and elegant plank floors in a warm gray wood grain. The custom décor mixes midcentury modern with late-century luxury, resulting in elegant spaces that will make you take pause before heading back out into the city. This untamed urban playground celebrates serious revelry from the moment you encounter the lobby’s airy atmosphere of light and shadow, offset by the bold geode-inspired architecture.

Unique hotel and no doubt a fun experience for some, but for me, it is a little too modern. The lighting is poor in the bathrooms and room. Restaurant and bar could use some customer service training. Overall, the room was comfortable. Resolving a billing charge was easy and corrected immediately. On this level, I think the Thompson does a good job. Thank you.

Great 4-star hotel with very friendly staff. Loved the pool, restaurant and bar, but the room itself was a bit outdated. The carpet under the bed was really dirty and the ceiling could use some paint. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Recently had a great day at the Thompson Austin hotel. Used my Hyatt points and guest of honor and got a one bedroom apartment/suite. It was very spacious and very nice! Had a dining room and living room, which was great for gathering with friends that we were traveling with. Room service breakfast was great! Fun place close to 6th street and great staff! Would stay again!!
