For when you need to lay back, lean in, or get immersed in the flavors and culture of the live music capital of the world, you know something memorable is about to happen at Thompson Austin. A place for locals and visitors to let loose poolside or at the restaurants and bars, where the luxe, contemporary vibe is signature Thompson — bold but not showy, complex yet confidently relaxed. With dramatic Austin cityscape views on display, the residential feel of the accommodations creates a setting to refresh and get ready for anything. Check into rooms, suites or residences offering moody hues, gorgeous custom furnishings, floor-to-ceiling windows with roller shade window coverings, and elegant plank floors in a warm gray wood grain. The custom décor mixes midcentury modern with late-century luxury, resulting in elegant spaces that will make you take pause before heading back out into the city. This untamed urban playground celebrates serious revelry from the moment you encounter the lobby’s airy atmosphere of light and shadow, offset by the bold geode-inspired architecture.

one of the smoothest and best hotel experiences I’ve had. really great property. the corner room had a beautiful view. valet was a bit expensive at $65 per night but everything else about the stay and the restaurants in the hotel turned out perfect.

We stayed at the tommie and the room was ok. The modern bathroom was not our favorite but the 4th floor restaurant and pool were awesome. The fitness area was also very nice. What set our visit apart was one of the gentlemen outside named Marquis. My husband and I needed directions and advice multiple times on where to go, what to do, how to get there. HE WAS DELIGHTFUL and MOST HELPFUL. I give Marquis 10/10 stars and for no other reason than his help, I would stay here again.

Stayed at a few hotels while in Austin for an extended weekend. Did one night at the Thompson to use some points and lived it. Room was really nice, pool area was cool, service was great. A bit of a lesser known gem in town to get a cool boutique experience for great value.

I really like this hotel. I was here two years ago and happily came back to Austin this summer. I wrote a good review then, and I'm happy to say the hotel remains excellent. For a luxury stay in Austin, this is the hotel to stay at. 1) I got a Brazos Suite. This is one of the nicer suites I've been in in the US - decoration is modern yet comfortable and seemed to fit into Texas style. Size is huge and the shower is enormous with two shower heads on either side of the stall. This suite is worth booking over San Jacinto . SJ is ok but Brazos really is excellent if you can afford it. 2) gym is enormous. A whole floor I think with good free weights and machinese. I had a good workout this morning. 3) breakfast is excellent for globalists. One of the better US breakfasts for globalists. There is a dollar amount but they said I could go over it a bit if I was reasonable. I had an egg white omelette and a side of berries. They offer juice but I didn't take. 4) The assistant operations manager remembered me from two years ago and knew my name and all my stay preferences. It's rare in the US I find for staff to remember me or acknowledge me so that was great. I didn't get the chance to go to the pool this time but last visit I enjoyed it. Overall, very happy globalist with this stay. Two thumbs up and can highly recommend
