About the Hotel

Set in an old mansion at the foot of the Palais des Papes in the heart of Avignon, La Mirande is steeped in secular history. This timeless refuge offers a dreamy, relaxing and authentic experience in a refines, 18th century-esque décor. With both a gastronomic restaurant and a chef ’s table, the hotel serves honest, living cuisine with respect for ingredients and humankind; a culinary hymn to land and its biodiversity. The hotel is named after the famous room in the Palais des Papes, La Mirande, where the Pope’s representatives held receptions for the city’s notables and visiting high-ranking officials. Behind its stunning facade, La Mirande exudes the sweet way of life of yesteryear. The twenty-six upper-floor rooms boast a unique décor, each with its own 18th century wall hanging plus all modern comforts are seamlessly integrated into the interior design as evinced by the "mirror" televisions.

Reviews for Hotel La Mirande

Nice Hotel, Great Staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This is a very nice hotel. It is as centrally located as can be in the city of Avignon. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had some issues with our room, but the general manager got involved and addressed the problem and took care of us. One suggestion, if you are driving, its best to get specific directions on getting to the hotel. This involves a number of small, very tight roads, as well as needing to get out and call the hotel along the way to have them lower bollards in the road and allow you to actually get through to the hotel. They were also very helpful in getting dining reservations in advance.

This is a lovely little hotel, beautifully decorated, with a little veranda to sit out if you wish. The room is cozy and well appointed. There is a restaurant, very nice for breakfast. Ii is in the heart of Avignon. Reasonable and pleasant.

Fantastic elegance!

Hotel La Mirande is truly one the best Hotel experiences I have ever had. The staff is lovely and very professional but not stuffy. The location is fantastic. You walk out the front door and there is the Papal Palace. The bar is so cool. The history of this Hotel is dramatic and fascinating. The food is incredible. Every morning we were met with our capancino and our eggs any way we wanted them and a table of delicious delights. We did the Chef's Table dinner and I would absolutely recommend this, it is a MUST. Our room was wonderful, spacious, clean and the bathroom was quite large. The gardens are beautiful. I would love to stay here again!
