The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa

I LOVE this hotel. My family and I stayed here during the holidays in 2025. We had a one bedroom suite which included a bedroom, living room, full size and well-equipped kitchen, bathroom and balcony. The service and amenities at this property are world class! And a lot more affordable than the nearby Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch! A few of the things I liked most: 1. Super helpful and professional service from all employees. Staff are empowered to help here and they do. Upon request they brought us a full size coffee maker (brand new!) On another occasion, I called room service because I needed an onion. Within 5 minutes they brought an onion and some shallots to our room--no charge. 2. Convenient and free ski valet service. Great to have an easy place to store boots and skis overnight. 3. Awesome gym and spa. High end gym (e.g. Techno Gym treadmills) and a great spa. One of the best steam rooms I have ever used! 4. Location is perfect. Steps from Gondola to Beaver Creek mountain. And about 5 min walk to all sorts of stores, rental shops and restaurant. Shout out to nearby Venture Sports--better and cheaper than the EPIC affiliated on-site shop. 5. Fun and lively atmosphere with big fireplaces and live music. 6. Free hot chocolate and fresh cookies every afternoon. Yes please! 7. The best hotel kitchen we have ever had. Full size and very well-equipped. Clean and new stuff. Great! Many small thoughtful details--for example, every floor has a filtered water machine and each room has a refillable glass bottle. Overall, we loved it here and we have been lucky enough to stay at some world class resorts. The whole family had a wonderful time.

The rooms at the Westin Riverfront are beautiful and the pool is stunning — but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. This was supposed to be an anniversary trip, and it was completely ruined by the way management and staff handled a very serious situation. Our brand-new vehicle was damaged while in valet care, and from the start we were given misleading and conflicting information. We were told we could review the video footage ourselves, which is the only reason we left without looking at it. Later, we were told that wasn’t possible — a complete contradiction. We also know the “investigation” left out key details, like the fact that our car was parked at a charging station overnight and not charged, and then engineers had to “fix” the charger. The car was also moved around multiple times, including staged in the front valet area, with no accountability or explanation. To make matters worse, once we raised concerns, staff behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful — snickering and whispering in the back while we were trying to discuss a very serious situation. On top of that, the billing was mishandled. The second room we booked was supposed to be charged to a different card, but instead the charges ended up on ours. When we asked for correction, we were told to call or email for another guest’s personal card information to fix their mistake. Absolutely unacceptable. Despite repeated requests, hotel management has yet to reach out directly to resolve these issues. The lack of professionalism, communication, and respect throughout this entire experience has been shocking — especially at a resort of this level. Yes, the property is pretty. But for the money you spend here, you can stay at the Ritz-Carlton and not encounter this level of unprofessionalism, mismanagement, and dishonesty. Our anniversary trip was ruined, and we will never return.

Came to Vail for hip surgery at the world renowned Steadman Clinic and stayed 2 nights nearby at the beautiful Westin in Avon. What a marvelous experience! They had so many thoughtful accommodations for guests recovering from surgery. The “heavenly” bedding and towels felt so luxurious! And the restaurant and bar offered delicious healthy food just an elevator ride away (or delivered to the room.) We would have stayed longer but had friends nearby to visit. Highly recommend this destination for the very finest in personal pampering.

Fantastic stay here over Memorial Day weekend. The lady from Peru at check-in was super friendly and we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite on account of booking with Amex FHR and being a Platinum member. The hotel has been very well renovated and felt very premium. The one bedroom suite was simply pristine and a true highlight of the stay. Breakfast staff everyday were very personable and a joy to interact with, the food itself was also great. Pool was a bit busy but there were times it quieted down so it could be enjoyed more peacefully. The fitness center here is one of the best I've ever seen in a hotel. Also the spa was fantastic and a real oasis to relax in before and after your treatment, treatments themselves were a little pricy but well worth it! Minor negatives are: one of the elevators was down so it led to long waits, F&B was a little pricey even for a resort, I'm not really sure what I received with the daily amenity/destination fee, and there were no EV charging options for those self-parking. Not huge issues per se but still minor ones to make it not quite "perfect".
