First of all, I would not stay here again. The rooms are quite dated. Falling apart and just feels like they’ve seen better days. Massive hidden fees - expect to pay an additional $100 per day on top of the rate you signed up for. I find this wild and they claim it covers a bunch of ‘amenities’ which are pretty low rent that would be standard at many other hotels - it’s just a way for them to charge an extra $100 per day. Then, the elevators - of the two elevators, one is not in operation for hotel guests (apparently it’s been this way for many weeks). Expect incredibly long wait times and long lines. This elevator has doors that close almost instantly after opening - even a hotel staff member commented that you need to be careful. I watched the doors essentially knock over an elderly woman, they also hit me with my small children. Be careful!! I told the hotel and they stated that the doors were within spec….great! My children cried every time they had to go up the elevator…it is truly a nightmare. Beware! I did speak to the hotel about my concerns and I felt like they were quite unsympathetic. It basically felt like they were arguing back with me, which, again…not a great sign of a place I’d want to stay. My advice - steer clear of this property. There are plenty of other hotels around the area that do a far better job than this one.

This was our fourth year staying at the hotel for Spring Break. Overall it is a very good hotel and the changes made to the ski valet and market were very good. But this was a disappointing stay. One of two elevators serving 11 stops was down. A local who uses the gym told us it had been out of order for two months. Due to how busy the hotel is, it means the pool is almost unusable unless you are willing to wait 5 -15 minutes to take the elevator. There is no option to take stairs because the stairs let you out at an exterior location that is not the pool. And they they charge you a daily $45 resort fee + 15%/$7.06 in tax for an unusable pool and hot tubs. The elevators have had issues for at least the last two years and ownership does not appear to be doing the right thing to repair/modernize the elevators. Dryer in room was also not working properly. Extremely noisy, and it would take 2-3 runs on high heat to get a load of laundry dry.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa in Avon and were extremely disappointed by how the hotel handled a serious issue. After leaving, I realized within 30 minutes that I’d left my jacket hanging in the room closet. I immediately called and returned to the hotel, only to be told that housekeeping had already cleaned the room and “found nothing.” When I checked personally, the jacket was indeed gone. The hotel opened an internal “investigation,” but ultimately took no responsibility and even refused to share the report with me, leaving me no way to verify what steps were taken. They suggested that perhaps another guest entered the room, which is both implausible and unsettling. The lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable, especially from a property under the Westin name. I would strongly caution travelers to be very careful with their belongings — this experience has completely eroded my trust in the brand.

We had a disappointing experience at the Westin Avon Riverfront. After checking out, we went skiing for the day and returned later to collect our belongings from the bell hop. Shortly after, we realized that an expensive personal item had been left in our room. Unfortunately, it was missing when we went back to retrieve it. The only people with access to the room between our checkout and our return were hotel staff. While the hotel initially seemed helpful and opened an investigation, we were ultimately told that "anyone could have taken it." To make matters worse, when we called Marriott Customer Service to follow up the representative simple said "the investigation is closed" and hung up. Overall, the handling of our situation was disappointing and left us feeling frustrated and unsupported.
