The Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru will always be idyllic, however the spa was extra special. While staying on the island, I saw Dr. Vikas Sharma, whom the resort called a visiting Master. I call him a guru, and here's why. After a complimentary 15-minute consultation, Dr Sharma spent 60 minutes realigning my body and head, repairing an upper shoulder pain I've tolerated for many years. I also had two sixty-minute breath-work sessions with him, and WOW! Dr. Sharma guided me through each session, where I was able to fully relax and go deep within, resulting in incredible healing benefits. His calming, compassionate energy helped me to fully embrace the sessions, where I felt completely safe in his care. Since the sessions, I feel more uplifted and have a more positive perspective and better clarity. The breath-work has not only heightened my awareness but also strengthened my spirituality and connection. Dr. Sharma is one of a kind. Professional, friendly and empathic. I feel very fortunate to have experienced these sessions with him, as he truly is very special and has incredible gifts. Background: I'm from New York. Maldives has always been a dream. I visited with wife and 2 young kids. Our entire stay was wonderful from top to bottom, beginning to end. The Four Seasons at Landaa Giraavaru really delivers the "dream" Maldives experience the way I always imagined. The resort, people and activities are world-class. The food is good but falls short of great (but breakfast is amazing!). Below is some details in case it helps you to make a choice. RESORT Set against the gorgeous backdrop of the Maldives, the resort is maintained to the highest standards. Immaculate room set against white sand and crystal clear light blue oceans. The turn-down service ensures that no matter what you do in the day, that the room is beautifully set for a great night's sleep. We had an ocean-villa and the in-room pool is just an amazing benefit. To swim during the sun-rise is something I'll never forget. PEOPLE The level of hospitality is the best I've ever experienced. The people at the resort seem genuinely devoted to making the stay as comfortable and as special as possible. The resort will escort you from the moment you land in Male all the way until you are checked into the airline on the way back. Don't feel like walking back to the room? The buggy service is extremely convenient and though I felt guilty for using it so much (our room WAS a bit far from the main areas), the staff never makes you feel that way. Need assistance with anything? They are always available and responsive either on phone or whatsapp. Have a special request? They are always their to listen and we made use of this through some custom orders during breakfast. Hint: The masala chai is amazing! ACTIVITES Our primary activity was scuba-diving or snorkeling. The dive center is top notch. It may be recency bias but this may have been my best diving experience ever. It's a simple thing but having access to a shower and towels after a dive is really nice! The dive staff are very patient in helping you learn (or re-learn in my case) skills. I'd also recommend dolphin viewing as seeing them jump out of the water to "surf" the waves is something I'll never forget. FOOD Like other reviewers have indicated, the breakfast buffet is just incredible. Asian and Western options abound. I like my scrambled eggs runny and they delivered some of the best scrambled eggs I've ever had! Dinner was a bit more hit-miss. It's a tough one as I understand the resort has to cater to so many different tastes but I wish they would have had some truly signature dishes that the chefs really specialized in rather than such a large variety. This is the main opportunity for improvement as I wish I could have had more dishes that would make me really remember the resort for. Instead, I'll mostly be thinking about that breakfast buffet and the French Toast.

This was our second trip to Landaa Giraavaru and we loved it even more, which ways a lot! Everything was spectacular. Our Over water Villa was brilliant. Well laid out, beautiful decor. Fabulous living spaces and a heavenly bed. The housekeeping team went out of their way to ensure everything was wonderful for us. Virginia and the F&B team were exceptional. Second to none! Made our family feel so special and literally spoiled, in a great way!. Don't think twice. This is the place to go in the Maldives.

Words cannot describe how exceptional this place is. I’ve travelled extensively all over the world to what is considered to be the ‘best of the best hotels’ but nothing comes close to experience I had on this island. I’ve held off writing this review for sometime as I wanted time to really reflect on what made it so special and firstly it’s the staff, they are the finest and their training is second to none. A few call outs, firstly Jah who took me snorking, he was exceptionally kind teaching me how to snorkel out in open water and making sure my experience was first rate. Just to show how first rate these staff are, whenever he saw me around the resort after, he remembered my name and always offered to help with whatever I needed. Others including Sandeep (F&B manager) took time to chat with us and Yogesh makes the best cocktail! These guys work exceptionally hard and are the real reason guest like me will return, they make you feel at home. Secondly, the beauty, when you think of perfect sunny vacations, you think Caribbean, Bali, Thailand, Hawaii. All those places are wonderful but they are nothing compared to the beauty of this island. Needless to say, the food is outstanding. I still don’t know how they deliver such quality on a remote island. I left feeling rejuvenated, If you’re thinking of booking, do it and its people like Jah who will keep you coming back, as we are in August!

This was an unforgettable 6 days and 6 nights! Accommodations, food, and and service were fantastic! However the personal touches and connections were even better. The caring and pampering at the spa and the Ayurvedic consultation from Dr. Nikhil Natayil was informative and empowering for both my wife and I. Water activities were also fantastic and the marine biologist team that cares for the injured sea turtles is also fantastic! We left relaxed and invigorated to hold onto the warmth of the island and the people that make this place special!
