This was our fourth stay at Soneva Fushi and somehow it continues to improve. We spent 10 nights in February and then returned for another five nights after a stay at Soneva Jani in March. This trip was with my wife, our three-year-old daughter, and my wife's parents. For us, Soneva is at its best for multi-generational travel. Everyone finds their own pace and routine, but there is still a lot of time together. We stayed in Villa 10 and it ended up being a very difficult villa to leave. The view felt like something out of a postcard. We were on the sunrise side and had extremely calm conditions for most of the stay. We jokingly called the water "blue Gatorade water" because of how clear it was. It almost looked edited in photos. The combination of calm water, shallow entry and the overall setting made it easy for our daughter and family to spend long stretches of time outside without needing to plan anything. The relaxed barefoot style continues to be something we enjoy. It will not be for everyone, but for our family it fits us perfectly. There is a balance between feeling casual and still receiving very attentive service. Food was consistently excellent and one of the strongest parts of the experience. What continues to stand out is the diversity. Soneva does not just do one or two restaurants well. The quality carries across the island and there are enough different concepts that a long stay still feels fresh. The half-board structure also deserves mention because it is one of the more generous arrangements we have experienced. At many restaurants there is real freedom to order from the menu without feeling restricted, and that makes a long stay much easier and more enjoyable. Fresh in the Garden continues to stand out and feels like it keeps evolving. We found ourselves returning because both the menu and setting felt unique compared to the rest of the island. Breakfast also remains a major part of the Fushi experience. It has almost become a cultural part of the stay for us. There is a huge amount of variety and quality and it quickly becomes part of your daily routine. Chef Akira also continues to be a highlight of every visit. His omakase experience remains one of our favorite meals across all of our Soneva stays. One thing we always appreciate is that at the end of the meal, guests can continue selecting pieces they would like repeated until they are full. It is such a simple idea but a memorable one. Soneva seems to understand that for many people, experiences and food are tied together. They pay attention to those details. We also had the chance to do a beach dinner and a movie night at Villa 10. One evening we watched the Canada-USA gold medal hockey game and later watched Jaws. Those small moments ended up becoming some of the most memorable parts of the trip. That has always been one of the things Soneva does well. It creates experiences that feel personal and natural rather than overly scripted. Our barefoot guardian Micky was probably the best guardian we have had across our visits. He was fun, intuitive and professional. He understood the pace of our family quickly and seemed to anticipate things before we needed to ask. He fit the style of Soneva very well, relaxed and easygoing while still being very engaged and organized. I also want to recognize Antony and the wider team. Before this trip we were curious, like many repeat guests probably are, about how things might change following the ownership transition. Have some things evolved? Sure. But generally speaking, the feeling of Soneva still felt exactly as we remembered it. I think a large part of that comes from leadership and people who understand what the culture of the brand represents. Antony clearly embodies that. He was very present throughout the stay and visible around the island. It was common to see him at breakfast speaking with guests, asking questions, checking in and following up personally if something needed attention. There is a calmness to the way he manages the experience and you get the impression that he takes ownership personally rather than operationally. We had a few small issues during our stay and they were handled professionally and quickly. Partway through our trip there was uncertainty related to the conflict situation in the region. We had already extended our stay by three nights before that and ultimately needed to remain a little longer. The reservations team acted quickly and made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. Antony remained calm and visible throughout and it felt clear that guest wellbeing and experience remained a priority. For us, that level of engagement is one of the differences between luxury and ultra-luxury hospitality. Our daughter has now reached the stage where she regularly asks us, "When are we going back to Soneva?" We probably created that problem ourselves. We cannot wait to return.

Our stay at Soneva Fushi was truly unforgettable. This is a place where luxury is felt not through extravagance, but through absolute harmony with nature, privacy, and an exceptional level of service. From the very first moments, it feels like entering a different world: white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, breathtaking island nature, and an atmosphere of complete tranquility. The villa was stunning — spacious, cozy, and perfectly integrated into the natural surroundings. We would especially like to highlight the service, where attention to detail is simply outstanding. But the true highlight of our stay was our butler, Miqdad — an incredibly attentive, caring, and genuinely warm person. What touched us most was the way he interacted with our children: with so much kindness, patience, and care, always trying to make them happy and ensure our entire family felt comfortable. Thanks to Miqdad, we felt not just like guests, but truly welcomed and cared for. This is exactly the level of service that makes a vacation It is a place we would love to return to again and again.

I have been to 5 other islands and this is by far the best one of them all. We stayed in villa 11 and there were 15 of us. The island itself is very lush, natural and has a charm about it you cannot describe until you stay here. Its not a modern, fancy tech island but rustic in the most beautiful way. The food was incredible, and each different restaurant we visited every night was out of this world, creating a new, special experience every time. We loved cycling the island on our bikes, it was like riding through Jurassic park with the noise of the birds and the lush trees and tropical plants. The sea was beautiful, crystal clear with great snorkelling from the out of the sea and out of the blue restaurants, plenty of black tip reef sharks late afternoon. Our villa was the best villa we have stayed in, huge outside areas, with a massive pool and our rooms were cleaned beautifully every morning with a nightly turndown service. However, what made this island and holiday the best was by far the incredible service we received throughout the whole time we were there. At breakfast the head chef comes over to you to for a friendly chat, not intrusive, just really nice, polite and warm, and the waiters and various chefs at each food area are so friendly and helpful, nothing you ask for is too much trouble, they will do anything for you that you request. Our barefoot butler, Choco, was incredible, making all the arrangements for our evening meals, organising lunch at our villa and bringing us lovely cocktails throughout the day - thank you Choco! The flying sauces restaurant was an amazing experience, a private table high up in the trees with the most incredible food, we were truly spoilt. We had a private cinema night under the stars with drinks and popcorn bought to us. I thought how can we beat that, until our last night when the staff had set up a private table with lanterns on the shore's edge with our favourite musician on the island, Shaam. The food, service and effort put into this was out of this world, and me and my family will never forget it. It was such a special evening and we cant thank you all enough! Our glasses were never empty and Shaam played some beautiful songs with his guitar. I really hope we come back one day. We 100% recommend this island. We didn't lift a finger all week, completely stress free, and with such a large group of 15 that is not an easy task but you absolutely nailed it Soneva Fushi! This is what dreams are made of. Thank you!

I love Soneva Fushi, the island and its people and have been coming for many years with my family , and stayed for several weeks every time. This time I started to see and feel subtle changes at the beginning, some not very nice information given by our butler, like new restrictive measures that disappointed us, or shocked us. Our past experiences were always welcoming and smooth. Some were resolved , others not, ammenities that were not included in the villa anymore, furniture disappearing (like the outdoor lovely robinson crusoe table and chairs, they were not in the villa in anymore ), less expert visitor therapists at Soneva Soul ( we were lucky to still find Hortensia , the lovely osteopath), an lot of insect spraying everywhere, local shop without any new items , changes in the quality of some food from the menu, i missed the bunnies, (ice cream shop open 24/7 and chocolates did not change and are still there not having this would be devastating, the childhood feeling of playfulness and being pampered with this is unforgettable). Days passed , the staff made us feel all right in spite of the changes, but we started noticing jungle work that was being in process , less and less vegetation every day , what was once a lovely authentic thick jungle is slowly becoming a thin forest full of holes, where you start to see plants artificially placed here and there , now you can see through the vegetations, and it is not as nice and remote and fresh as before. Without its jungle, which has made this island so different from the others, Soneva would be deprived of its magnetic soul. It has never been a plain "resort" to us, it s been a place on earth, it still is, full of character with the most spectacular design, care and service, created from zero by visioners Sonu and Eva with a completely different concept which we shared and valued as guests, which made Soneva Fushi what has been all these years. I understand the new management intention might be to clean, but it s important to keep sustainability in mind, and the whole character and intention of the place, keep up with the non invasive quality and nature of the materials, because this is what make us guests, find it different and want to go back every year. I hope they stop here with the " cleaning" of the jungle, they might still be on time, if they go on destroying the jungle they will destroy Soneva uniqueness and it will become merely one of the many island hotels in Maldives, manicured, fake, not sustainable, one more, without soul or personality. Whoever owns this place should respect its essence, tha nature and of course its people, Soneva staff, one of the most amazing we've ever experienced. Thank you Soneva, Sonu and Eva, for all the magic, of all these years, all the memories, I really hope the new people in charge treat the island and its people and its trees and fauna with the love they deserve. Hope to be able to keep coming back to the Soneva Fushi I know and love.
