As you travel beyond the center of Florence, along the road that leads to Chianti country and southern Tuscany, you will encounter a magnificent sanctuary, surrounded by an extraordinary natural landscape. Just a few miles from the Duomo, Villa Olmi Firenze comprises three stunningly converted and restored historic buildings. Suites in the 18th-century villa boast superb examples of rural Patrician architecture, while bedrooms in the Fattoria are adorned with hand-selected antiques. For unparalleled privacy, the Colonica, a separate building, offers 3 apartments in an intimate oehamlet” setting each with its own kitchen and fireplace.

The hotel itself is a gem. Beautiful lobby, the pool is nice and quiet and the surroundings are astonishing. I stayed in a superior room which was classy decorated. Bathroom looks a bit tired but has its charm with all the marble. Shuttle to Florence works perfectly. Now why the 4 stars, you see, I don't mind tipping but the way they do it, it just doesn't work for me. At check in they told us there was a 10% service charge that they would add to the bill. You could always decline or figure out the tip yourself, however, when checking out they added 30% to the bill. I respectfully declined but I can't help thinking some guests may feel obligated to pay that. That left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and to be honest, I never witnessed that practice before. Especially when you add 20% out of nowhere.

If you are a foodie you will not enjoy this hotel. We stayed at Villa Olmi for 8 nights in July/August 2025. This property is about 10 min by car from the city. First of all I must say that the hotellroom (Junior suite) was just breathtaking - beautifully decorated and huge. It is also very clean and it smells nice even though the furniture seems pretty old. The garden is also stunning and well taken care of. We came to Italy to relax outside the big city, eating beautiful Italian food. If this place only had a decent restaurant… We tried a lot of the dishes in search for somethning we actually could eat and hopefully enjoy just a little bit. The only two things on the meny that was eatable was pommes frites and fried potatos(!) We were thinking we were fooled by «hidden camera» every dish we tried was just a joke and not worthy a four-star hotel. This restsurant feel like a scam to be honest. I am sorry for the waitors who are forced to serve this food. The waitors are super, its not their fault the food is poor. You can tell they are not happy about it, and we are neither. It’s a true mystery why this hotel have such an awful restaurant. I have seldom had such bad food in a restaurant. The grilled duck tasted old, the tomatosous and broccolisaus was watery and tasted nothing. The cream on my dessert was sour. The tuna was so awful we named it «The Dish of Death» It was not a lot of options in walking distanse, but luckily we found a place called Roven not too far away. An excellent restauran. Even though that forced us to walk beside a quite busy road for 10 min with our child four times a day it was worth it! The restaurant was defenetly the main big downside, but there was also minor things I would not expect for a 4-star hotel: -At breakfast you need to pay extra to get other than instant coffee (the coffee is named Americano, but I’m 99% sure that it is instant coffee) -No fresh bread -You also need to pay extra for freshly squeesed orange juice, fried eggs etc. -The matress is old and do not have a top matress -Only water in minibar- no snacks or sodas We actually got married the day before arrival. This was supposed to be our honeymoon- but we decided to just call it a vacation, and book our honeymoon next year to a different hotel.

This hotel is beautiful, but a little out of the way. The bedrooms were lovely and clean, with a jacuzzi bath, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable and we struggled to sleep. Some staff were lovely and some just didn’t acknowledge us, when we clearly needed service .

Visited Villa Olmi in July 2025 for 6 nights. Positives - amazing pool with lounge chairs around the pool, pool never got overly busy and was such a relaxing place to be particularly later in the day after visiting tourist sites. - grounds were the best I have seen, beautifully manicured hedges and tuscany plants and trees scattered around the property. The property itself is enormous and the grounds around rooms are magnificent. - staff were great and really helpful. - food was amazing, particularly the dinner menu. Wines were also amazing and they have a huge range of other alcoholic drinks available. - shuttle bus available is available to transport you to a place closer to the city centre Negatives - the shuttle bus although great was only running until 11am and then starts again at 5pm. Other issue is it drops you at a point which requires another taxi ride to Duomo and other city attractions - it wouldn't be a huge issue in the cooler months but in July a 25-30 minute walk in 34 degrees celcius is a pain. I would hire a car to get around next time, will be cheaper and more convenient. - the EUR200 charge on the final Invoice which is an optional payment (tip really). This would be best left off the invoice as some people would find it awkward saying no to this even though it's an optional bonus payment. I did pay it as I loved the place. - only other thing worth mentioning is that the power went out for a short period at the property and then water was unavailable in the room for a period shortly afterwards. I must say they did a fantastic job to fix the issue in a relatively short period of time. Overall the experience was amazing and we really enjoyed the stay. I would definitely go back.

Villa Olmi is a beautiful hotel arouund 4km from the centre of Florence, easily reached by Taxi around £30 euros or the number 23 bus a short walk away. There is plenty of parking onsite also. The Villa itself is complimented with beautiful gardens. We used the gym and the outdoor pool which in late April was peaceful innits location. We had a standard room which was spacious and beautifully decorated, and has tea and coffee making facilities. The restaurant serves dinner and lunch, we are lunch twice on our stay and was delicious. Breakfast is plentiful and has a selection of hot and cold items including pastruss, fruit, cereals, hams & cheeses. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful which makes the stay just perfect. If you are lookig for a bit of luxury without being in the centre this is your place. We ate 3 nights at a beautiful local restaurant 10 minutes walk away called La Veranda sull'arno. We will definitely stay here again if in Florence.
