Villa Olmi Firenze

Firstly, I would like to say that the property itself is lovely and secluded. However, if your goal is to spend time in Florence's city center, the location is less than optimal. The hotel offers a shuttle service for an additional fee, but it only takes guests to the edge of the city. From there, you still need to walk a considerable distance or take a bus or taxi to reach the city center. Unfortunately, my experience with the hotel's customer service, from both the front desk and management , completely overshadowed the positives. Before booking, I contacted the hotel to ask about breakfast options because of my dietary restrictions. I was told by email that beans and chickpeas were "standard" breakfast items that were always available, whereas lentils would incur an additional €6 charge because the kitchen did not always have them available. Based on that explanation, I reasonably understood that chickpeas were included with breakfast. Instead, I was charged an additional €6 for a cream of chickpeas on top of the €16 breakfast charge. Needless to say, the breakfast itself was also very disappointing. My checkout experience was equally disappointing. The front desk dismissed my concerns rather than trying to resolve what was ultimately a simple misunderstanding. After several follow-up emails, the hotel's position never changed, despite recognizing that their communication had been unclear. I expect a four-star hotel to communicate clearly, especially when accommodating guests with dietary restrictions, and to value customer service over rigid adherence to policy. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, this hotel values its policies more than customer satisfaction. Because of the poor customer service and the way this situation was handled, I will not recommend this hotel to others.

We loved the room. It was quite spacious and nice inside. The shower was a little awkward because the shower head sprayed all over the room. The atmosphere of the villa itself was very nice. We really didn’t enjoy the shuttle experience. It had not very good times. The shuttle brought you quite far from the Florence center of town so you still had to walk quite a bit. We ended up renting bikes for most of the time instead. The villa is very far from the Florence town with not a good shuttle solution.

I really wanted to visit the Tuscan countryside but didn’t want to drive. I thought the Hotel Villa Olmi was a nice compromise. The property is beautiful and clean. Don’t miss walking the grounds. The staff was amazing!!! I especially enjoyed chatting with Simona & another young lady, whose name now escapes me, in the restaurant. The breakfast spread is nice & dinner…well, the staff is pleasant.

One of the most amazing places. I loved it. We stayed for 5 nights after 15 days of traveling all 2 nights each place. It was a great place to unwind. Close enough to go back into Florence center but away from the crowds. The grounds are beautiful. It was like living in a museum with the amazing collections and antiques everywhere. The staff were so lovely. It was so nice to unwind with our bottle of wine in one of the spots on the garden after a day out and about. Easy access to highway to get to Pisa or San Gimignano to drive. I 100% recommend this.

The fabulous land of wines and rolling hills spread under sparkling blue skies and tall, slender cypress trees, peppered with small, ancient and historic villages that still live the old lifestyles. And in this bucolic landscape lies the metropolitan city of Florence – Firenze – which is also the most populated city and capital of the region. Dating back to before the Roman times – 59 BC - the city has been the center of medieval European trade and is considered to have been the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. It is teeming with historical architecture, art and eons of history, now interspersed with modern development that makes this city a cultural and industrial center – and a huge tourism magnet. Of the many hospitality institutions in the city, one of the most elegant is the Villa Olmi. Even online, it stands out from the competition. Located around 10 to 15 minutes from the city center, it is easy to reach by taxi or the hotel shuttle. With its beautifully landscaped and maintained gardens, the property feels like being in the countryside with beautiful surroundings and acres where one can escape the crowds, yet is within this teeming city. Just so convenient and special. We were traveling with friends from Israel and booked two rooms. The hotel is stunning: the decor, the rooms, the common spaces and restaurants - all of it was magazine-cover beautiful and well maintained. The rooms we could afford were fairly spacious and the baths were beautifully finished with marble tops, tiled surfaces and wood accents – spotlessly clean and with all the necessary amenities. The service was amazing, and all the hotel employees are very professional. Great way to run a hospitality establishment - Thank you ! An absolutely incredible, though short stay – wish we had more time on this vacation.
