As you travel beyond the center of Florence, along the road that leads to Chianti country and southern Tuscany, you will encounter a magnificent sanctuary, surrounded by an extraordinary natural landscape. Just a few miles from the Duomo, Villa Olmi Firenze comprises three stunningly converted and restored historic buildings. Suites in the 18th-century villa boast superb examples of rural Patrician architecture, while bedrooms in the Fattoria are adorned with hand-selected antiques. For unparalleled privacy, the Colonica, a separate building, offers 3 apartments in an intimate oehamlet” setting each with its own kitchen and fireplace.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had at Villa Olmi, specifically because of the amazing staff. To say Alessandro Natali went above and beyond would be an understatement. His professionalism, kindness and help with our stay and daily trip plans made all the difference, and made it become the experience it was. While the hotel building itself is nice, staff members like Alessandro Natali make it special and a place to want to return to.

As a travel agent, I am always asked for recommendations for my clients trips. Villa Olmi is the place in Florence I always insist upon. It’s not only that the hotel is beautiful, it’s because of the people who work there. They turn a normal hotel experience into a stay at a home away from home. Alessandro Natali, who is the head concierge, goes out of his way to be kind and helpful… he is a consummate professional who deeply cares about his guest’s happiness and well being. He is always with a smile, a kind reassurance, and abundant knowledge. He represents Villa Olmi with pride and love, and makes Villa Olmi a place to want to return to often. Laura, at the front desk, is also such delightful person to deal with. Her warm smile and kind way welcome guests with a genuine sincerity. She, too, has a wealth of knowledge and true desire to help. The restaurant also has warm and wonderful staff, especially Alessandro and Simona. We do very much miss the amazing food of Chef Francesco Lorenzini, who unfortunately is no longer there. So yes, Villa Olmi has a beautiful traditional hotel and grounds, but it is the people that work there who make it extra special. If you want to experience true Italian hospitality, do not hesitate to choose Villa Olmi!!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Villa Olmi Firenze for our honeymoon. Our experience was wonderful from before we even arrived having had the chance to plan our stay with the concierge. When we arrived, they provided us a free upgrade to one of their suites as a complimentary gift for our honeymoon. They even had a card and provided so much love. The hotel is in a remarkable and beautiful location about 20 minutes outside of the center of Florence, with a shuttle service available multiple times a day. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and so unique as well. We felt as though we were staying in such a historic place with so much beauty all around. We loved the hospitality, our suite, and the service we were provided. We also loved the breakfast buffet and all the amenities for food and drinks (plus a lovely sweets station with the most delicious little candies). We loved having the chance to walk around the gardens, have dinners at the resort, and enjoy the beautiful and serene property. We would absolutely love to come back one day!

The hotel itself is a gem. Beautiful lobby, the pool is nice and quiet and the surroundings are astonishing. I stayed in a superior room which was classy decorated. Bathroom looks a bit tired but has its charm with all the marble. Shuttle to Florence works perfectly. Now why the 4 stars, you see, I don't mind tipping but the way they do it, it just doesn't work for me. At check in they told us there was a 10% service charge that they would add to the bill. You could always decline or figure out the tip yourself, however, when checking out they added 30% to the bill. I respectfully declined but I can't help thinking some guests may feel obligated to pay that. That left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and to be honest, I never witnessed that practice before. Especially when you add 20% out of nowhere.

If you are a foodie you will not enjoy this hotel. We stayed at Villa Olmi for 8 nights in July/August 2025. This property is about 10 min by car from the city. First of all I must say that the hotellroom (Junior suite) was just breathtaking - beautifully decorated and huge. It is also very clean and it smells nice even though the furniture seems pretty old. The garden is also stunning and well taken care of. We came to Italy to relax outside the big city, eating beautiful Italian food. If this place only had a decent restaurant… We tried a lot of the dishes in search for somethning we actually could eat and hopefully enjoy just a little bit. The only two things on the meny that was eatable was pommes frites and fried potatos(!) We were thinking we were fooled by «hidden camera» every dish we tried was just a joke and not worthy a four-star hotel. This restsurant feel like a scam to be honest. I am sorry for the waitors who are forced to serve this food. The waitors are super, its not their fault the food is poor. You can tell they are not happy about it, and we are neither. It’s a true mystery why this hotel have such an awful restaurant. I have seldom had such bad food in a restaurant. The grilled duck tasted old, the tomatosous and broccolisaus was watery and tasted nothing. The cream on my dessert was sour. The tuna was so awful we named it «The Dish of Death» It was not a lot of options in walking distanse, but luckily we found a place called Roven not too far away. An excellent restauran. Even though that forced us to walk beside a quite busy road for 10 min with our child four times a day it was worth it! The restaurant was defenetly the main big downside, but there was also minor things I would not expect for a 4-star hotel: -At breakfast you need to pay extra to get other than instant coffee (the coffee is named Americano, but I’m 99% sure that it is instant coffee) -No fresh bread -You also need to pay extra for freshly squeesed orange juice, fried eggs etc. -The matress is old and do not have a top matress -Only water in minibar- no snacks or sodas We actually got married the day before arrival. This was supposed to be our honeymoon- but we decided to just call it a vacation, and book our honeymoon next year to a different hotel.
