Luxuriate in the harmony of eco-friendly Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte, a Brazilian member of prestigious Preferred Hotels & Resorts. This stunning resort is located north of Salvador in the Bahia region of Brazil, is known for its exotic touches, breathtaking scenery and endless tranquility. Chic guestrooms, housed in low-slung buildings and crowned with thatched roofs, have minimalist and uncluttered design. Warm-wood finishes, cool tile floors, and freestanding tubs add more than a hint of style. Views of swaying palm trees, lush green landscapes, and brilliant Brazilian sunshine spill in through wide windows. Spend a lazy afternoon napping atop a hammock on your private balcony.

Very disappointing and unprofessional experience. We were vacationing in Rio from California and because it was raining so much we decided to come early to Salvador for Carnival and thought we would stay a few days at Tivoli to get some sun first. On the first call to the hotel where we were inquiring about booking a room beginning that night, when my wife who is Brazilian politely asked if there could be any flexibility on the first night rate due to a late arrival (around 8:00 pm), the call was abruptly disconnected. She was speaking because we figured she could communicate better in Portuguese. We live in Southern California and are just vacationing here now and I don’t speak Portuguese. After the first disconnection we wondered if the disconnection was intentional or not and called back to understand. I made the follow up call and spoke with someone we believe was named Tiago. He was respectful and responsive to me in the beginning of the call. I shared what happened on the last call and he asked if I knew the persons name and said maybe it was just a disconnection. I passed him to my wife hoping he would make up for her previous experience and answer some follow up questions. I also thought communication would likely be better in Portuguese. When she again raised her question if the hotel has any flexibility for the first night rate given what would be a very late arrival, the call was again abruptly disconnected at that exact question again. He was very impatient and not helpful when speaking to my wife unlike to me. And since the disconnect happened twice on the same exact question it looks to be intentional. Different treatment of my wife alone is not professional but I was shocked that someone in a service industry, especially at a hotel like Tivoli, would just hang up on my wife. We travel a lot and have stayed at some of the top rated hotels all around the world and have found that the service in many of the top hotels in Brazil is usually world class. This was the opposite and why so shocking. I am not one to write hotel reviews but this really was a crazy experience for us. Due to this interaction , we chose not to proceed with the reservation. Luxury hospitality starts with respect, professionalism, and a willingness to assist, none of which were present here.

I contacted the hotel earlier today to inquire about a potential reservation. As we would arrive around 8:00 pm and wouldn’t be able to fully enjoy the hotel facilities, I politely asked whether there could be any flexibility on the nightly rate. Unfortunately, the experience was unacceptable. I called twice, spoke to two different staff members, and on both occasions the call was disconnected the moment I asked about flexibility — without explanation, without alternatives, and without even a proper closing. For a hotel that positions itself as a luxury property, this type of behavior is completely unprofessional and below any expected standard of hospitality. I did not proceed with the reservation due to this experience. I hope management, especially Mr. Tiago, takes this feedback seriously and reviews the training and conduct of the reservations team, as this does not reflect the level of service one expects from a hotel of this category.

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Tivoli; atmosphere, food and staff were excellant. Very nice, clean beach and the nearby 'fishermans village' (actually a small town full of shops & restaurants) was 20 minutes away; accessible by beach or road. This town also contains the renowned Tamar Turtle Sanctuary which is worth a visit. Resort dining was buffet style and could be noisy depending on the number of kids at the resort, bear in mind when booking. Rooms were clean and spacious with all the usual amenities.

I have answered all questions from the Tivoli hotel. All questions were answered making the necessaries considerations to the managers.

We had a great experience at Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte. The resort is beautiful, well maintained, and very relaxing. The staff are friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. Special thanks to Paulo Papada and Carlos (Pé), the sports entertainers, who brought great energy and made the activities fun and engaging. They really made a difference during our stay. Highly recommended!
