A terrible hotel, and the worst service I have ever experience. The beach never has chairs available and you need to tip your way to get chairs, after spending a crazy amount for a connecting suite for presidents weekend. The breakfast room was disgusting, belongs in a ramada in and def not a ritz carlton property. Is a slander to the brand. Further - maid service sometimes came sometimes didnt only once a day. We would ask for things and it just would never show up. Its the last time I am staying there. Its a horrific place. Worst of all we were accused for minibar charges, which we didnt consume. Our children were playing with it but in spite of us making a fuss about this and our kids being kids, this super high margin items - after paying so much for a suite and room - was a non negotiable item they wouldn't turn a blind eye for. Just bad people ... bad management. It should be renamed and called the hilton its not a ritz cartlon property. Its my last time there (forever) and maybe my last ritz carlton. Shameful

I’ve stayed in Surfside/Bal Harbour, many times, often at the St. Regis but this was our first time at Ritz Carlton and we were absolutely blown away. The size, decor of their views of their suites are really stunning. The pool area is beautiful and their staff and service was top notch. The hotel was totally full because so many had their flights cancelled with the big winter storm yet nothing felt crowded. I really loved how they have separate elevators so that when you exit the elevators there are only two rooms per floor and it feels very private. I think honestly Marriott Elites are often hesitant to stay at Ritz properties when they is a comparable St. Regis, W, etc close by that offers more benefits (free breakfast, able to use your Suite Night awards, guaranteed 4pm checkout) but aside from the free breakfast (which personally isn’t super valuable to me when I want to sleep in) I felt I got comparable Platinum treatment. They actually gave me an upgrade to a stunning, high floor suite and although it wasn’t 4pm, they did give me a 2pm checkout which I was happy with considering they were totally full. We really enjoyed the afternoon complimentary affogatos, daily afternoon cocktails, and the include Pilates class I took in the spa was awesome. Also, although it is a bit farther to walk to all the restaurants and cafes on Harding street it was very doable and pleasant. All in all, I’d be happy to return her and they definitely compete with and in some ways surpass the experience at the nearby St. Regis. Don’t hesitate to book at this beautiful property!
