Reviews for The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort

Amazing hotel, amenities and staff made for a wonderful stay.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Hotel amenities, staff and service exceeded expectations. Spending time on the beach or by the two pools was amazing, with staff frequently checking-in, When the thundershowers hit in the afternoon it was quite pleasant to visit the free gelato bar and we enjoyed listening to the live piano music in the main lobby area. Use of the free bikes was also excellent during the day. Senior staff also were very attentive and asked if there was anything to improve our stay. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was excellent.

Fantastic Experience

Beautiful hotel. Clean and impressive. Staff, from front desk to servers to pool staff are attentive and extremely pleasant and all helped to make our anniversary stay all the more special. Kudos to Dykla at the coffee bar for her warm morning smile and excellent iced lattes. She even remembered our anniversary and gave us a personal card. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing top-notch stay.

Another Great Stay at St. Regis Bal Harbour

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This was our second stay to celebrate our anniversary, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The property is beautiful, service excellent, and the beach, while undergoing some rehabilitation, remains gorgeous. It was busier over Labor Day weekend, but still relaxing. The food is pricey but delicious, and we loved the daily gelato, champagne, and Pellegrino in the lobby. While we didn’t get a suite upgrade this time, our room and view were still amazing. Highly recommend for a luxury Miami getaway.

The reality doesn't match up with the St Regis image I had in my mind...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This review is based upon my one visit to the hotel to enjoy a spa service and use of their pool and beach, as well as a meal inside their Atlantikos restaurant. First off, I found the overall decor/interior of the hotel to be over-the-top gaudy. There was nothing discreet or elegant about the decor. But then, I suppose this IS Miami after all. I was not a fan of the overall interior of this hotel. As for the spa and the massages we received, the service itself was excellent. The spa area...the women's locker room, was spacious and well appointed, though the showers themselves were pretty bad...the water pressure weak, and the water knobs (hot vs cold) were difficult to figure out. The outdoor pool was just 'meh'....nothing special. We then decided to go to the beach, where we had to ask for chairs and an umbrella (and then give the guy a tip). However, what we were never told, and only figured out on our own, shortly after arriving at the beach was that...there was some type of construction being done on the beach (maybe they were replacing all the sand?) and so we had trucks going back and forth, about 20 feet away from us. This probably also explained why everyone's beach chairs were right next to each other...we had no private space...because the hotel had to ensure that all their guests on the beach were well enough a distance away from the construction. As a result, the beach was not enjoyable, and we left within 20 minutes of arriving. Would have been nice, if the hotel reps working the beach had INFORMED us of this, so we didn't have to waste our time/money. We had lunch at Atlantikos restaurant. All the food was excellent, but I was not happy to later realize that... apparently the restaurant automatically adds a gratuity to all checks. Not realizing this, I added an (extra) gratuity to the bill. However, the next day I called the restaurant to try and explain what happened, and that I wanted a refund for the extra tip I paid. They said 'we'll check on it and someone will call you back...' Yet, after my making two calls to them, no one from the restaurant ever did call me. So I simply contacted my credit card company, and contested the extra tip amount, which they then credited back to my account. I never did hear back from the restaurant. Not cool. And I'm sure I'm not the only hotel guest/out of state tourist, who was unaware that a gratuity is automatically added to all the checks for Atlantikos diners. Where I'm from (NYC), a tip is never automatically added to a restaurant bill, except in cases of parties of six or more diners. I therefore find it rather sleazy, that Atlantikos doesn't make this more clear.
