In the fashion of a traditional Balinese village â€" with the addition of modern luxuries, of course â€" the tranquil Alila Ubud resort helps to center mind, body and spirit. Its stunning architecture captures contemporary design philosophy while incorporating traditional elements of style. Cradled along the banks of the Ayung River within lush Balinese foothills, guests retreat into a collection of the resort's chic rooms and freestanding, stilt-supported villas. The juxtaposition of contrasting elements creates a uniquely timeless feel, with contemporary concrete appointments beneath conventional thatched roofs, or modern terrazzo tiles beside aged and crushed rock. Expect all the lavish comforts of an exclusive resort, like private terraces and clandestine courtyards, open-air bathrooms and airy showers, private plunge pools and secluded sundecks, to name a few.

A wonderful experience in the middle of the jungle with all the flora and fauna. Service outstanding, the food was excellent. Great base to explore Ubud and further. A little piece of paradise I hope I get to return to one day.

Amazing place, great customer service, the food was great and the main infinity pool view was to die for! The only thing I would say if you're not a fan of monkeys .. might not be the place for you, lol.

Serene hotel in heart of jungle. Food amazing and staff so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are fairly basic, very Balinese but well serviced by the staff. We stayed 5 nights as part of a longer holiday in Bali but felt the stay was value for money, especially the quality of the food and drinks. No issue with noise, loved hearing the sounds of the jungle. Found the monkeys to be amusing not inconvenient. The traffic round Ubud is mental so travelling from airport or to the town via the hotel shuttle can take longer than expected but lovely to return to the quiet of the hotel. Lots of steps so better suited to active families or couples.

Superb Stay with Beautiful Greenery, but Not Ideal for Seniors or Wheelchair Users We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The property is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The pool offers a beautiful view, and the café is excellent with a lovely ambience. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-designed. We especially loved the open bathing area and the bathtub, which added a luxurious touch to the stay. The only drawback is that the property is not wheelchair-friendly. There are numerous stairs leading to the rooms, restaurant, and pool area, with no elevators or convenient wheelchair access. I unfortunately twisted my leg while walking back to my room in the evening. Although the staff were extremely supportive and did everything they could to assist, the lack of accessible facilities made it difficult. I would recommend that elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues consider this before booking. One suggestion for improvement would be to include more vegetarian options on the menu. Overall, it's a beautiful property with excellent rooms, ambience, and hospitality, but accessibility and a wider vegetarian selection would make the experience even better.

Our entire experience from arriving very late at night until check out was exceptional. Our villa was so beautiful and peaceful. Waking up to a view of the jungle every morning with monkeys and squirrels around was so amazing. Our 6yo son loved this experience so much. He was able to engage with this space with ease. I absolutely loved how much this place exists effortlessly as part of the jungle. There are no hard walls in either of the restaurants making you feel very much a part of the environment. You may have a monkey do a dash on your afternoon tea but this is managed by the staff in a very calm and gentle way and just reminds you where you are which I found very refreshing. The pool is better than any pictures I have seen. It is so beautiful in that environment. I had 3 spa treatments while I was there which were all amazing. One of the balinese massages I had was hands down the best massage I have ever had. The most amazing part of this trip was the staff and their absolute attention to detail. They were so generous of spirit and their willingness to make your experience perfect did not go unnoticed. I have never left a holiday and immediately started looking to return. I did this literally in the car ride to the airport. We will definitely be back.
