In the fashion of a traditional Balinese village â€" with the addition of modern luxuries, of course â€" the tranquil Alila Ubud resort helps to center mind, body and spirit. Its stunning architecture captures contemporary design philosophy while incorporating traditional elements of style. Cradled along the banks of the Ayung River within lush Balinese foothills, guests retreat into a collection of the resort's chic rooms and freestanding, stilt-supported villas. The juxtaposition of contrasting elements creates a uniquely timeless feel, with contemporary concrete appointments beneath conventional thatched roofs, or modern terrazzo tiles beside aged and crushed rock. Expect all the lavish comforts of an exclusive resort, like private terraces and clandestine courtyards, open-air bathrooms and airy showers, private plunge pools and secluded sundecks, to name a few.

Having stayed at Alila Ubud many times, I can confidently say it never disappoints. The location, staff and facilities are exceptional. The food is outstanding, with attention to detail that’s second to none, and being surrounded by the lush beauty of the jungle feels deeply nourishing. The thoughtful touches to celebrate our anniversary were especially lovely. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the jungle, Alila is a a calm serene retreat away from the busy streets and markets of Ubud. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely view over the trees. The outside shower and bathtub also a real novelty. The only tiny criticism was that the lighting was poor, especially in the bathroom. The staff were wonderful. They were open, kind and friendly and did everything they could to ensure our stay was perfect. The food was great. Breakfast was delicious with an array of choice. Entertainment was provided by the monkeys trying to to help themselves from the buffet. Just wonderful.

We stayed at the Hyatt Alila in Ubud and were genuinely impressed by the serene, nature-immersed setting. The location is incredibly peaceful—perhaps a bit too relaxing for my personal taste, but my wife absolutely loved it. The infinity pool is a significant highlight with breathtaking views of the lush jungle—easily one of the best spots to unwind. Breakfast was generally good, though service was inconsistent depending on the staff, especially at the egg station. We stayed in a Pool Villa, and the room was fantastic. The private pool was a great size, and the outdoor bathtub surrounded by a fish pond was simply magical—such a unique and calming experience. One downside was the monkeys—they were quite aggressive and made us a bit uneasy at times. Also, during heavy rain, the roof of our villa started leaking, and we had to mop the floors ourselves to avoid slipping. The hotel offered to move us to a different villa (not a pool villa), but repacking would’ve been a hassle, so we declined. Unfortunately, there was no other compensation or follow-up, which was a bit disappointing for a property of this caliber. Overall, it’s a beautiful property perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility, with a few service inconsistencies and room issues that hopefully are one-offs.

Ideal place to relax and enjoy your time deep in nature. Excellent service, super clean and super food. It rains a lot but we still loved it! The best part? The showers!!!

Amazing staff & the architecture of the hotel. It’s worth going for the amazing pool. It’s as good as the pictures. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Ubud.
