In the fashion of a traditional Balinese village â€" with the addition of modern luxuries, of course â€" the tranquil Alila Ubud resort helps to center mind, body and spirit. Its stunning architecture captures contemporary design philosophy while incorporating traditional elements of style. Cradled along the banks of the Ayung River within lush Balinese foothills, guests retreat into a collection of the resort's chic rooms and freestanding, stilt-supported villas. The juxtaposition of contrasting elements creates a uniquely timeless feel, with contemporary concrete appointments beneath conventional thatched roofs, or modern terrazzo tiles beside aged and crushed rock. Expect all the lavish comforts of an exclusive resort, like private terraces and clandestine courtyards, open-air bathrooms and airy showers, private plunge pools and secluded sundecks, to name a few.

A beautiful property nestled in the heart of the jungle. The service is incredibly kind, helpful, and top-notch. Everyone goes out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable and beautiful. The peace and quiet there truly allows you to relax. And the monkeys are an added attraction. Thank you, and we will definitely recommend it.

We stayed at Alila Ubud for three nights as a family of three while celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. The hotel and its location were recommended as part of our Bali holiday, which we booked through Destinology, and it's safe to say that both exceeded our expectations. Being surrounded by rainforest, we expected to encounter plenty of wildlife and insects. Apart from the monkeys around the area & the squirrels—which is only natural, as you're in their habitat—we hardly saw any wildlife at all. In fact, we didn't notice a single insect, either in our villa or around the resort. The entire property is exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained. We stayed in the Terrace Tree Villa (Room 502), and it was absolutely stunning. The villa was spacious, spotless, bright, and beautifully designed. If your budget allows, I would highly recommend booking one of the villas—you won't regret it. Our villa also felt more secluded and enclosed, which helped keep any unwanted insects outside. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, always going out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. One of the highlights of our trip was the cycling tour with Patrik. We visited a local market, explored the beautiful rice terraces, and finished the tour with authentic Balinese coffee at Patrik's home. It was such a wonderful experience to meet local people and gain a glimpse into everyday life in the area. We dined at both of the resort's restaurants, and every meal was delicious. The quality of the food consistently impressed us throughout our stay. For most of our visit, we chose to relax at the resort, which was exactly what we were looking for. The peaceful surroundings, exceptional service, and stunning setting made it the perfect place to unwind. Alila Ubud is truly a special place, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Bali. It was a memorable stay that exceeded all of our expectations.

Our stay at Alila Ubud was unique. We have never stayed in a hotel with such friendly and dedicated staff. We truly felt at home. The facilities are of high quality, and the food is worthy of a top restaurant. The location of the resort was not a surprise, because we knew we would be surrounded by jungle, but the interaction with some wild animals, particularly the monkeys, exceeded expectations. We thank all the staff (because they treated us in an exemplary manner, without exception), especially those with whom we had the most contact (if we can pronounce their names): Sukman, Haidy, Di, Madê.

A wonderful experience in the middle of the jungle with all the flora and fauna. Service outstanding, the food was excellent. Great base to explore Ubud and further. A little piece of paradise I hope I get to return to one day.
