In the fashion of a traditional Balinese village â€" with the addition of modern luxuries, of course â€" the tranquil Alila Ubud resort helps to center mind, body and spirit. Its stunning architecture captures contemporary design philosophy while incorporating traditional elements of style. Cradled along the banks of the Ayung River within lush Balinese foothills, guests retreat into a collection of the resort's chic rooms and freestanding, stilt-supported villas. The juxtaposition of contrasting elements creates a uniquely timeless feel, with contemporary concrete appointments beneath conventional thatched roofs, or modern terrazzo tiles beside aged and crushed rock. Expect all the lavish comforts of an exclusive resort, like private terraces and clandestine courtyards, open-air bathrooms and airy showers, private plunge pools and secluded sundecks, to name a few.

We were only there for a couple of days, but it was the most tranquil, relaxing and beautiful place to spend time on our Honeymoon

Beautiful hotel, stunning views and pool. The food was delicious and the staff were exceptional. Wonderful massages too. Monkeys were present in their surroundings.

Beautiful resort on the outskirts of Ubud with free shuttle into the centre. This is exactly how it looks on the photos. It is stunning!! Service is amazing. Gorgeous pool. Highly recommend this for a honeymoon. The staff are incredible and go above and beyond for you. They are attentive but not overbearing which is something we’ve found in other hotels on the island. It was nice to be left in peace to enjoy the place but knowing they are right there whenever you need them. We met the onsite monkeys who are adorable! They will jump onto your balcony so keep the doors shut! We saw one with toothpaste. A monkey came and drank my husbands beer, thankfully the staff replaced it. We found it hilarious. They’re not at all vicious by the way so don’t be scared. It’s 30 mins drive from Ubud but they offer a free shuttle which we utilised and only £3 in a taxi back late at night. On Saturday morning we had a free tour of the rice paddy which was so fascinating. Every day there was something for guests to partake in such as yoga, cooking classes and tours. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. The fruit juices and smoothies were so good. We attended the bbq night which was fantastic and the live band were amazing. And we had a couple’s massage in the rainforest which was fabulous!! There is so much land with walkways around the hotel to enjoy a stroll after dinner and explore. This is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I think if heaven exists it’s here.

We had such a wonderful stay at Alila Ubud, and it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and looked after every detail with genuine warmth and care. The hotel went truly above and beyond to make our anniversary special. We were surprised with beautiful flowers, a delicious anniversary cake and sparkling wine in our room. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the occasion feel even more memorable. ️ One of our highlights was the incredible view from our room. Waking up surrounded by the lush Ubud forest canopy was simply magical. The setting is peaceful, beautiful and feels wonderfully connected to nature. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and had a very comfortable bed — perfect after a day of exploring and relaxing. You can occasionally hear the neighbours, but at Alila Ubud there’s a good chance your “neighbours” might actually be monkeys appearing on your balcony! It’s all part of the unique experience of staying in the middle of the forest. The food is also excellent, with every meal feeling fresh, beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Combined with the stunning surroundings, it made dining at the hotel a real pleasure. Most of all, it was the wonderful staff who made our stay so special. Alila Ubud is a beautiful hotel where you can relax, enjoy incredible food and views, and feel immersed in nature. Our anniversary stay gave us some very special memories, and we would love to return. ️

The location based in the forest overlooking the ravine was magical. The hotel was relatively quiet which suited us perfectly. The room had everything that was required although an additional electrical socket by the table would have been a bonus. Being in room 228 we were slightly away from the restaurant and lobby which meant it was very quiet. The room was spotless and the staff could not have been more efficient and friendly. As a base for exploring the area it was perfect
