Great place with excellent service and food. The whole team is very very kind and attuned to each other. They think of everything even before you think of something yourself, they’re one step forward. Special thanks to Ariani, Sri and Ngurah(chef breakfast) from the Commune restaurant. The chef of the diner at the commune cooks really good as well, I forgot his name. Especially the Balinese diner and the pisang goreng we love! The villa’s are very beautiful and the garden is lovery! Overall a great experience and very nice place to stay.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Umana. The rooms were impeccable and very spacious. The pool inside our villa was huge and we also had our personal jacuzzi which was amazing. The hotel grounds were well kept and clean. The hotel staff were all amazing. They even have a free shuttle that takes you down to their own beach club Uma. Uma was also amazing and has a beautiful view of the beach. Shout out to our curator Karen - she was very responsive even on her days off. She helped arrange reservations, buggys, and answer any of our questions. We really appreciated how hard she worked. The breakfast was so good, and you can tell the head chef put a lot of effort into the food. I think Umana may be on par with Four Seasons in Jimabaron. The rooms were a lot more modern and larger than Four Seasons. The bathroom alone was a dream! We will definitely be back. Thanks to all the friendly staff at Umana!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment I arrived at Umana Bali, I knew I was in for something special. The check-in experience was unlike any other — instead of a counter, I was welcomed in a sofa lounge area, making it feel truly personal. My assigned curator, Biswa, made my entire stay seamless. He not only checked me in with ease but was also my go-to person for everything: buggy rides to different facilities, shuttle arrangements to Uma Beach House, luggage assistance, reservations, and even the thoughtful touch of moving the young coconut from my villa’s welcome amenities to be served at my lunch in Commune. His attentiveness made my stay effortless. I must also highlight the buggy drivers. Unlike other resorts where rides are usually silent, every driver here was engaging, warm, and conversational. Each short 3–5 minute ride came with a fresh conversation on a different topic — never forced, never repetitive. It’s these small touches that make Umana Bali feel so genuine. Uma Beach House is a highlight of the resort — with breathtaking views that set the stage for incredible sunsets. Yaya, who served me there, elevated the experience further. Not only did he recommend their signature cocktails and popular mains, he ensured I always had the best seat for the sunset, constantly checked on my comfort, and timed the service of dishes perfectly to my pace. Her attentiveness never wavered. The spa deserves special mention. Asri, the Spa Director, handled my booking seamlessly, and though I forgot my therapist’s name, I will never forget her hands. At just around 1.6m tall, she surprised me with incredible strength during the “Indigenous” deep tissue massage. I was initially skeptical, but she completely dissolved that doubt — it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Dining at Commune was consistently excellent. Head Chef Nuka, Manager Lorfan, and every member of the service team ensured my breakfasts and lunches were memorable. They looked after me attentively, and I must say — their non-spicy Mie Goreng and Nasi Goreng were the best I’ve tasted in Bali. As for the One-Bedroom Villa, it is everything you’d want in a luxury escape. Spacious, private, beautifully designed with Balinese character blended into modern comfort, and complete with its own plunge pool — an ideal sanctuary to retreat to after a day of exploring or simply relaxing. Every encounter with the team at Umana Bali left me impressed — from service to food to wellness, each moment felt thoughtfully curated. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough and look forward to returning.

We spent 4 nights at Umana LXR Bali with our two teenage children, the second of 2 hotels during our stay on the island. We selected the hotel based on the number of 5* reviews, and it's proximity to the beach. All staff were very pleasant, with any requests handled swiftly and with a smile. Whilst the position and amenities are good, there were a few factors which led to the hotel not quite living up to expectations, and way off the excellent experience we enjoyed at our previous hotel (Tanah Gajah - see separate review). Upon check in, our 'curator' identified that the credit card we used for our pre-paid booking was not present. I explained that it was the same account, but that the previous card had expired and had been replaced by our bank. Under the terms of the pre-paid rate, the hotel credits the original payment and takes a new identical payment on the card you present to them. I am not sure whether this is a Hilton policy, but it did seem a little unnecessary. Unfortunately, a shift in IDR:GBP exchange rate meant that we paid approximately £250 more once all of the payments and credits cleared off the card. Check-in was slick, with a nice welcome drink and gift for us all, and in no time we were whisked off to our villa in one of the resort's golf buggies. We have booked a 2 bedroom garden pool villa, based on multiple reviews recommending this option over the more expensive ocean view pool villas. We were allocated villa 209, which seemed to be a partial-ocean view. As soon as we opened the doors to explore the patio and pool, it was immediately apparent that building works was being carried out on a strip of land along the entire length of the hotel's grounds and right next us. Upon further investigation, this is a significant development which we imagine will be 2-3 years until completed. The noise of pneumatic drills was so loud that we asked to be moved, which the hotel agreed to immediately, this time to villa 206, a 2 bedroom ocean view villa. During our stay we observed that the building works were operational 9am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, so do request a villa well away from this. During our first evening, a large wedding was being held at the hotel, meaning the main Oliverra restaurant was closed, and that our prior reservation at the excellent Uma Beach Club had to be cut short due to the wedding party moving to that location at 8.30pm. It would be nice if hotels made guests aware of such bookings (and of course the building works) in advance of a stay, so that you can make a call whether it would be better to stay elsewhere. The villa was clean, well proportioned and full of excellent technology - especially the toilets! The outside space was as per the website photos, nice pool and hot tub, so all good there. The view from the pool is not quite what we would class as an 'ocean view'. Whilst in the pool, the view is predominantly of the rooftops (and multiple air condoning units) of the villas in the row below. I had seen this feedback, hence why we had originally opted for the cheaper garden view villa, albeit we had not been allocated one of these. We tried the Oliverra Mediterranean restaurant on one evening. Food was nice, we decided to eat on the outside patio as a violinist was playing rather loud via an amplifier in the main restaurant, which was also very brightly lit. Breakfast is a real feast, great service and many Western and Eastern options available both from the buffet and a la carte. The pool bar was always very quiet, we ate there for one lunch and a dinner, the staff were great and seemingly pleased to be serving us. 2-for-1 cocktails between 4pm and 7pm were enjoyed. The Uma Beach Club was our pick. An efficient car shuttle serve from reception, a wide menu and a chilled vibe. Service at the Beach Club was also the best we received, although to be fair it was good throughout the hotel. Whilst the hotel seemed relatively full, by the number of tables taken at breakfast, the grounds were strangely quiet during the day, with the main pool almost always empty. In summary, a nice hotel, which would score a 3.5/ 5.0 if that was a rating option on TripAdvisor. Villa allocation seems to be luck of the draw, but you have a good one they are impressively spacious, with a good outside space. The food options are good, rather than exceptional. You could almost be anywhere in the World staying at Umana, it is certainly not would we considered a 'traditional' Bali experience. The consideration for anyone looking to book this hotel is the significant development being undertaken directly next to it. It is noisy and we can't quite fathom why this has not been mentioned in any other reviews. We can only assume that the multiple 5* reviews have been submitted by those guests staying gratis via their Hilton Honours rewards points (which we were not), or those who may be not be that well travelled.

I don’t usually write reviews, but our stay at Umana Bali was so magical that I felt compelled to share. I’ve stayed at many high-end resorts around the world, but Umana is truly something special. I unfortunately can’t remember every team member’s name (blame it on being too relaxed on vacation!), but every single person we met left an incredible impression on our family. After a long journey of over 22 hours from New York, the moment we arrived we were greeted not only by the team’s warm welcome but also by the breathtaking view of the property — cliffside luxury, the gentle warm breeze, and tasteful, artful décor everywhere. It immediately made us feel at ease and excited for the stay ahead — truly a magical first impression. The service at Umana is simply extraordinary. Every interaction was warm, genuine, and thoughtful without ever feeling overbearing. Every team member took the time to engage with our child, making our whole family feel completely cared for throughout the stay. Umana isn’t just luxurious because of its beautiful villas and world-class facilities — it’s the impeccable service that really makes it stand out. Dining was a highlight, too. The quality of the food is outstanding. My wife even joked that the breakfast here was one of the best meals she’s ever had (and she can be a little high maintenance when it comes to breakfast!). The restaurant teams were always friendly, greeting us like old friends, and sometimes even prepared dishes not on the menu to make us feel at home. One standout moment was when I needed to bring home gifts — a staff member personally went out of their way to procure them for me. It’s these little touches that made our stay so memorable. As a Diamond member, I also appreciated the recognition and benefits — a beautiful room upgrade and discounts across the resort were wonderful — but honestly, it was the people and their care that made the stay unforgettable. The villas themselves are stunning — spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. While mosquitoes are part of Bali life, the resort thoughtfully provides repellents in the villas. Housekeeping and turndown service were flawless every day, with little surprises each evening that always made us smile. I celebrated my birthday here, and it became one of the most magical experiences of my life. Umana isn’t just a luxury resort — it’s a place full of heart, where every detail and every person makes you feel like family. We left with full hearts, already dreaming of our return. If you’re visiting Bali and want the perfect balance of luxury and warmth, Umana is absolutely the place to be. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Umana team for making this trip so special for our family.
