Relaxing piece of paradise in Ubud

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

Our family of four had an exceptional four-night stay at the Como Uma Ubud. The food program alone makes a stay worth it. They emphasize healthy, delicious food, and everything was executed. Some of the dishes seared in my brain: spicy, fragrant laksa soup for breakfast one morning, custardy French toast with mango another; this crunchy salad with tuna long beans and explosive red chilis for lunch; my kids' perfectly executed tiny hamburger and a special Balinese street food tasting dinner menu. The place itself is gorgeous, full of lush vegetation, authentic Balinese architecture, and very well maintained. The staff was wonderful across the board -- attentive and paying attention to details in an easy, relaxed way. A highlight was the morning tours of the rice paddies, where the guide showed my curious boys how rice is grown and self-defending plants. The rooms were comfortable, the beds thoughtfully surrounded by nets. The pool was beautiful, shaded and very well-maintained. The balcony was a wonderfully cozy place we actually wanted to hang out on.

A solid four star stay in Ubud

Como Uma Ubud is a lovely, peaceful property, and we had a perfectly nice stay here. To be fair, we arrived after staying at Jumeirah Bali, where we had been thoroughly spoiled by expansive grounds and dedicated butler attention, so our expectations were set quite high. The resort is beautifully laid out and feels distinctly like you are in Ubud when you are outdoors. That said, it is on the smaller side overall and lacks a broader sense of space, leaning toward a more intimate footprint than our personal sweet spot for a resort. Because we were out and about exploring Ubud for much of our stay, it served as a comfortable, peaceful sanctuary to return to each day. We stayed in the pool villa, which was spacious and comfortable. The welcome dessert for our anniversary for very good. The private pool is definitely more of a plunge pool rather than a swimming pool. The interior design is clean, understated, and pleasant, though nothing inside truly stood out or felt particularly intentional or distinctive. Small things like there was no drying rack, there was no iron in the room ( you could ask for it), we had to ask for extra water as we would run out - stopped the stay from being exceptional. We do realize that these are small things- but they make a difference. The service is good and the staff are warm and well meaning. Since the property does not offer dedicated butler service, things like requests or coordination can naturally take a little more time, but the team works hard to take care of you. We also really liked their gym. Though an erg machine would be a great addition. The breakfast setting itself is gorgeous and makes for a pleasant morning ambiance. The food is fresh with a decent variety, but honestly, we weren't crazy about the breakfast overall—it was okay and didn't really stand out for us. Ultimately, there was nothing wrong with our stay at all—everything ran smoothly and comfortably. While it didn't completely bowl us over, Como Uma Ubud is a solid, charming choice if you are looking for a quiet, well-situated base in Ubud.

Beautiful and private resort in Ubud, just a few minutes from the main shopping precinct. Complimentary shuttle mini bus runs 5 times a day so easy to jump on and off instead of a Grabit etc. Very private, feels like you are the only one staying there. We had our own plunge pool and sun lounges, also a daybed under cover. Restaurant had beautiful food, there is a focus on health and wellbeing which we enjoyed. Complimentary yoga and early morning walking tour available. There is a different theme each night for dinner - we had the Balinese dinner with a show and it was delicious and well worth the cost. The couple's massages we had were the best we have ever had in any country we have been too so make sure you book in. 3 days wasn't enough so if we come back we will stay longer. THANK YOU to all the amazing staff who made our stay very special.

An Exceptional

We made a quick stop at COMO Uma Ubud and were very impressed by the property. The staff were warm and welcoming, with a special shout-out to Agga for making our visit even more enjoyable. The rooms are beautifully appointed, while the COMO Shambhala spa and yoga studio have such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The pool is simply stunning, and the newly opened gym is another great addition. Considering the beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities, and genuine hospitality, the experience is definitely worth the money. Thank you to the entire team
