The hotel is located in Jimbaran Bay, directly facing the sunset, amidst lush tropical gardens, next to a first-class white-sand beach. The entry into the ocean is gently sloping, and the beach is wide and very clean. At the InterContinental Bali, you'll immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a serene Balinese paradise. This five-star luxury resort in Bali is one of the oldest and most famous beach resorts. The harmonious blend of Balinese Ramayana motifs and the hotel's modern vision of luxury design is striking. There's no reason to be dissatisfied with anything here. A 15-minute taxi ride from Denpasar's Ngurah Rai Airport is all it takes. Looking out over the ocean, you'll see numerous seafood restaurants on the left, their tables practically lapped by the waves. They fill up before, during, and after sunset. It's an incomparable experience. And for those who appreciate it, there's the hotel's Sunset Bar.

It is unfortunate that even as members and being told on many occasions… thank you for your loyalty etc etc… during the course of arrival at property and checking in etc etc that when we requested to shorten our visit (due to personal reasons) that policy is policy and no can do anything regarding a refund for unused nights…. Big companies really don’t do themselves any favours by putting all guests in the same basket and not treating them as individuals. We certainly shall be reconsidering and exploring other options during our next years of travel.

Dinner at the Sunset bar was delicious. We were looked after by Sinta who made our evening exceptional with her kindness, beautiful personality and wonderful service.

This property sits on over 16 hectares of land facing the Jimbaran stretch of beach. The room assigned to me was a junior suite on the 4th floor. It had all the amenities to make you feel at home. Any guests visiting me could wait in the ensuite while I get ready in the privacy of my bedroom which has a walk in wardrobe. I had daily access to the Singaraja Lounge where drinks and canapés are served. The manager Nico and check in staff Ricky were extremely helpful in making sure that I feel totally welcome and that my room is in order. In fact, each and staff of the hotel are gracious and greets every guests with a smile throughout our stay. One evening I spotted a dead puffer fish during a walk along the beach. I proceeded to The Sunset Beach Bar & Grill and asked the waiter for a shovel so that I can remove the fish as it can still cause harm with its lethal toxin if someone accidentally steps on it. The waiter there by the name of Sukra happily went with me to remove bury the dead fugu. He even offered me a drink after that! His eagerness to help and positive attitude is most impressive and this reflects the general attribute of the staff working at this wonderful hotel. Totally impressed.
