This was our second stay at InterContinental Bali Resort. The hotel and grounds are still as stunning and immaculately maintained as they were 10 years ago. However, this visit didn’t quite meet our expectations. Pros: • Beautiful, elegant resort with perfectly manicured gardens, pools, and ponds. • Spacious, stylish rooms (especially the brighter, renovated ones). • Friendly, welcoming staff across the board. • Multiple pools, with the main pool lovely and warm. • Excellent poolside service and comfortable loungers. • Bella Cucina was the standout restaurant — exceptional food and 5-star service. • Singaraja Lounge offered a relaxing, more casual alternative to the Club, with complimentary drinks hour and all-day drinks and snacks. • The Singaraja Wing location was ideal. Cons: • Check-in was slow, connecting rooms weren’t available in the Singaraja Wing (unless we moved to the Classic Wing), and only one of our rooms was ready by the 3pm check-in time. • Inconsistent service at Sunset Bar and Jimbaran Gardens — long wait times, entrees arriving after mains, and food not consistent (e.g. two eggs cooked totally differently). Sunset Bar service was particularly slow and unreliable. • A little more attention to detail on the rooms is needed. One of our rooms lacked an outdoor drying rack and clock. A coffee machine would have been appreciated as would a compendium. (We didn’t know you could get fish food at reception to feed the fish in the pond). • Beach outside the hotel frontage had been cleaned up by the hotel but there were still bits of rubbish in the water and in front of the resort, which a quick rack up would have removed. Walking further up the beach there was a lot of litter that no one had cleaned up. • Not all hotel guests are there for vacation. The hotel has a huge conference centre and so there are many conference groups sharing the resort. The Sunset Bar was closed for conference functions 4 nights of our 7-night stay. • The hotels offer a free-flow drinks package each Sunday which attracted a loud group who were disruptive at the pool. It would have been good if the staff had intervened. • If you're visiting during school holidays be prepared to share the pool with lots of kids. It's a shame there isn't a family pool by the kid's playground as there is plenty of room for another pool. The only quiet pool is for Club guests. This is a large resort in a prime location on Jimbaran Beach. While the service fell short on this visit, the bigger concern is Bali's rubbish problem. Trash washes in from the ocean, and it's especially noticeable at certain times of the year. Unlike Nusa Dua — where hotels coordinate beach cleaning — other beaches like Jimbaran are public, so the hotels handle cleanup individually, with mixed results. Outside hotels, the beach was left littered (we experienced the same in Sanur). If you're expecting postcard-perfect beaches like those on the hotel's website, it's worth doing some research first, especially if you're travelling around the rainy season.

First off let me say I don't love enormous hotels and this one is huge. The lobby and grounds are nothing short of stunning as is the artwork scattered around. Warm staff welcome. Upgraded to a club room which was welcome but the room was shabby. Fixtures broken. Floorboards buckled. The beds looked wrinkled and...well....shabby. The beach bar is really lovely as are the staff. I had a terrible crispy chicken sandwich and could only eat the fries as the chicken and the bread were a soppy mess. The staff handled it beautifully and opologized but I was still charged even though had one bite of the burger. The pools are amazing and restaurant options look fantastic. The breakfast buffet was superb. I will say again that I hate huge hotels and the place was crowded (lots of kids) but the grounds are truly gorgeous as are the pools. Shoutout to the warm staff.

An absolutely amazing place that far exceeded our expectations! The resort itself is stunning — so beautiful and majestic, with such a special, welcoming atmosphere. The service throughout was outstanding, and the Club Level service was truly exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to Dewi and her wonderful team for making this the best experience we've had to date. The Club and the incredible Club pool became our little slices of paradise. A special thanks as well to Suyra at the Jimbaran Garden restaurant, who went above and beyond to make our dining experiences unforgettable. This was a 7-night escape from our busy lives to simply relax with friends — and we certainly achieved that, surrounded by beautiful surroundings and incredible people who made our stay so memorable. Thank you — we will definitely be back!

Beautiful facial with Dewa Aya. Very relaxing and soothing for my dry and red skin. Thank you Restaurants are wonderful. Service top notch as you’d expect at the intercontinental. Some great shops near by where my partner and I were able to get new glasses. Would be great to have water available at the hotel without having to pay big $$.
