The Petanu River carves out a lush valley that cradles Kamandalu Ubud, a collection of villas that immerses guests in the Balinese way of life. “Kamandulu,” adopted from Sanskrit, means “the vessel that holds the holy water,” a moniker that encourages finding inner peace. Built from native wood and stone with peaked alang-alang grass roofs, the resort is a nurturing home base for authentic encounters with the countryside’s shrines, villages and other cultural attractions.

Anggara was an amazing host. Great recommendations for the photos & poses & great photos as well. If you’re after a photo shoot type thing, this is really what it felt like. If you’re hoping for a meditation type feel or relaxing in the boat with the fish around you, this is not really it. The food was good, little nibbles. We really enjoyed it.!

Having travelled over from Seminyak..into tge lush rain forest we arrived at the beautiful Kamandalu ..greeted by two smiling friendly concierge walking into a spacious airy reception lobby handed a cool refreshing drink and cold towels....once completed check in we were shown to our room for the next four nights Room 101 a Garden villa a lovely lady( Sorry forgotten her name) showed us our room ..stunning outdoor rain shower and bath four post bed just perfect... Once unpacked time to explore the hotel not before closing our own private gate with a padlock provided.... Time for a drink at Aira pool bar and then complimentary afternoon tea served daily...delicious 🫖☕️🍰 Chose to have dinner in the Petula restaurant balcony outside table....fantastic choice of Indonesian cuisine...great service from two well dressed polite servers. After a good sleep we headed for breakfast which was delicious choice of Western or Indonesian with fresh pastries and juices. Time to get out and see Ubud we arranged with the hotel a private tour with Raka who was so helpful explaining about area and what we would be doing. A walk through the rice fields then onto waterfalls finishing off at the rice terraces . Next day visited Ubud by the free hotel shuttle15 mins.. Went to the market and local restaurant and then the Ubud Palace to see the Balinese Legong dancing which was spectacular. The next days we spent at the hotel enjoying great weather only rained one night.... Overall verdict we both agreed fantastic Thank you all the friendly helpful staff...and Balinese hospitality..10/10
