This is definitely not a five star resort. I would rate it a maximum of 3.5 star and as such it is totally overpriced. I requested a room with few stairs. I was shown to a room that certainly did not meet this request. Even after a room change there were stairs and I would strongly advise anyone with accessibility issues not to stay here. The accommodation facilities were tired and run down and while the restaurant has a beautiful view it is difficult to get to without calling for a buggy and the food was certainly not of 5 star quality. On the positive the staff were lovely and always tried to please but this is an overpriced resort and should not be considered 5 star.

I had a wonderful time at a villa at Karma Kandara in Bali. The villas are spacious and beautiful and give (almost) total privacy. The restaurant has a lovely view of the ocean and serves delicious food and beverages for very reasonable prices. The restaurant at the beach served me a delicious cold coffee preparation with an orangy twist. I also enjoyed a relaxing massage right next to the sea with the roar of the ocean in my ears and the sea breeze fanning me. I also took a boxing class to stay in shape. The staff are very polite and helpful. I had nothing whatsoever to complain about.

The resort is amazing and its position on the cliff has breath taking views across a great beach. The staff are fantastic and could not help more, the only thing they need to fix is the sun bed situation! Many hotel guests can not get a sun bed on the beach as they are being re sold to day visitors, this is unacceptable when the resort is 5 star and charges 5 star prices! There are beach clubs next door that guests should not have to pay extra to get a bed at!

Got upgraded to 3-bedroom (booked for 2-bedroom) and it’s super spacious. Has a huge living room with open kitchen and full appliances. The beach is very clean and playful for snorkeling , found many interesting tropical fishes and sea animals. The hotel is mainly run for the members of Karma, so be prepared to be hunted if you are new.

Just back from a week at Karma Kandara. As with our past visits to the resort the highlight was definately the staff, in particular the restaurant, room service and buggy staff who were all a pleasure to interact with! We stayed in a two bedroom garden villa which was well appointed and within easy walking or buggy distance of everything. A word of caution though if you want to enjoy the beach facilities as we do you want to make sure that the hill tram is operating. It was closed for maintenance for the first half of our week, and unless you are very fit or a mountain goat (as we know from past experience) that it is not a lot of fun to access the beach without the hill tram. We were advised the week before that it would not be operating and it was only after several testy emails that the resort reached an agreement with the adjacent resort for Karma guests to utilise their hill tram. In fairness this arrangement worked really well, and hopefully this arrangement can apply in the future if and when the hill tram is not operating.
