About the Hotel

Located in the small northern village of Kedewatan, Komaneka at Tanggayuda is a sanctuary of just four suites and 16 villas nestled into the countryside. Rice terraces tumble into the Oon River, and above it all, Balinese pavilions with high-pitched roofs offer a mix of traditional and ultra-modern comforts. Soak in a bathtub carved from volcanic stone surrounded by moss-covered walls and carved Hindu deities, then retire to a new-release movie on your villa’s Apple TV. There’s also a small art gallery onsite, an incarnation to Komaneka’s dedication to preserving local culture.

Outstanding Stay!!

I’m very picky when it comes to hotels and resorts, but Komaneka at Tanggayuda truly exceeded my expectations. I’ve just stayed here for 5 nights and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The hotel offers exceptional value for money, especially considering the level of service and attention to detail provided. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay - every single person was so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. What really stood out was how well the teams communicated with each other to make the guest experience seamless. For example, restaurant and reception staff coordinated with housekeeping so our room could be turned down while we were out, allowing us to fully enjoy our private pool villa without interruptions. That level of service is exceptional, especially for a smaller hotel. I also really appreciated the thoughtful amenities and little touches throughout the stay. The in-room snacks and cookies were a lovely surprise, and the smart TV and in-room speakers were far more advanced than I expected for a jungle resort setting. The location is another huge advantage. The hotel offers a free shuttle to Ubud every hour from 8am–8pm, which made getting into town incredibly convenient. At the same time, the resort is far enough away from the busy centre that it feels peaceful and secluded - all you hear is nature. The main pools were also never overcrowded, with plenty of sunbeds available and sunshine throughout the day. If I were being extremely picky, there are only two small things I’d mention: 1. The in room safe wasn’t large enough to fit bigger personal devices like laptops. I’m sure devices can be stored in a bigger safe at reception if requested. 2. The gym was quite limited. However, considering the resort’s jungle setting and focus on relaxation and wellness activities like yoga, this was expected. Overall, this was an outstanding stay. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful luxury stay near Ubud. Thank you Komaneka Team 🙏🏼

One of the best places I've ever stayed, so peaceful, amazing staff and stunning views. Unexpectedly needed to book somewhere for 1 night, booked via Agoda at 9am, arrived at 11am. Greeted by the most delightful lady who upgraded us to a private villa with pool. Food and drinks great. If we did not have somewhere else booked to go to we would have happily stayed. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend. Amazing Stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. Traveling as a family with a one-year-old can sometimes be challenging, but the staff made our experience incredibly smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. The service was outstanding – every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent, with great variety and quality. And the rooms - the rooms were AMAZING! What truly made the stay special was the attention to detail and the little extras that made us feel so well taken care of. Our daughter Tuva received exceptional help and kindness from the staff, which meant a lot to us as parents. The entire experience was so amazing that we even decided to extend our stay. It was truly an unforgettable visit, and we would happily return again. Highly recommended!

Beautiful oasis outside of Ubud

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 months ago

Wow, this is a very special place to stay outside of the hubbub of Ubud. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by jungle and the sounds of frogs, birds and geckos. We stayed in one of the Premier Valley Pool Villas that had a very spacious bedroom with a king bed, a desk and chair, a couch and coffee table, a cabinet with a mini fridge and fresh fruit, air conditioning control and sliding glass doors that opened out onto a deck. The deck had a table and two chairs, two lounge chairs and a lovely private pool overlooking the jungle. The bathroom was huge, with two sinks, lots of counter space and two different places for hanging clothing. There was a big indoor, as well as an outdoor, shower. Breakfast, which was included, offered both a big buffet as well as both Balinese and Western menu items. Also included was daily afternoon “tea” by the beautiful main pool which offered all kinds of sweet and savory snacks as well as coffee, tea and very good local rose wine. The food was delicious. The staff — at the front desk, in the restaurant, and around the grounds — was very warm, welcoming and responsive. When we mentioned to one of the staff that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, our room was decorated for the occasion! There was often live gamelan music being played in the dining room and plenty of invitations for us to join in various cultural activities. We watched the staff prepare the offerings for the annual festival of one of the Hindu goddesses and attended the ceremony at the hotel temple the following morning with the staff and the owners of the hotel. Overall, it was a very memorable four days.
