Beautiful esperience and place, very polite and helpful staff in particular Dewa. Highly recommended for family and solo.

Amazing resort, the weather is very cooling and we had the Riverfront villa which had an amazing view of the river. We can hear the river sounds which were very soothing. The staff here are all very amazing, friendly and very attentive to our needs. As I celebrated my birthday here, Karsana and his crew made it so fun by dancing when they brought the birthday cake and desserts. Great service at breakfast too! Compliments to Tambun, Wismawan and the others whom we forgot to ask their names. Lovely place because of the staff warmth and care.

Kupu Kupu’s hospitality is truly outstanding — every single staff member was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. We stayed in a beautiful River View Villa with a private pool, and the views over the valley were simply breathtaking. Our butler, Amy, went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. We’ll definitely be coming back… and staying for longer next time!

If you’re looking to ruin your time in Ubud, Kupu Kupu Barong is the perfect disaster. This so-called “5-star” hotel is nothing more than a decaying, unsafe relic. The “suites” are infested with ants, the showers barely trickle, and the roof leaks like a broken gutter. Getting to downtown takes forever. The food? Fat with fat on top of fat. Nothing even close what Bali is famouse for. The staff keep smiling while spying on you, which is as creepy as it sounds. But the worst part: I was seriously injured here after the rotten stairs collapsed under my foot. The following days were a living hell — hotel staff spied on me, tried to secretly photograph my injuries, eavesdropped on my private conversation with the doctor, and shamelessly refused compensation (because, despite the enormous pain, I didn’t want to abandon my plans and let other people down). This place is a complete disgrace to hospitality. The French owner or the hotel manager didn’t even bother to personally respond to my complaint. I wish the same to happen to them and their children one day, only then they will understand!
