This is now the 2nd year in a row we have stayed at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa and again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is slightly tired in parts but for us that adds to the character of the hotel as it has a proper Balinese style decor which is what we like rather than staying in one of the ultra modern hotel chains. The location of the hotel is perfect and leads out onto a stunning stretch of beach at the back of the hotel. The staff at the hotel cannot do enough for you and the Balinese people themselves are some of the most humble and respectful people you are likely to meet anywhere in the world. The hotel has a few different restaurants all of which are lovely, especially the Tamarind restaurant with its lovely beach setting. The restaurants in the hotel can be a bit pricey given the cost when you leave the hotel but you are in a 5 star resort and its still cheaper than back home for sure. Breakfast each morning is lovely and has plenty of options to suit everyone. The hotel rooms do need a bit of refurbishment as they are a little tired but I believe this is something the hotel has scheduled to be ready for next year. They run a 1st and 2nd service so you never run out of water, towels, toilet paper etc The pools could do with a few more sunbeds which like most hotels you need to be up early to get but to be fair there are plenty more on the beach so its not a major issue. We love this hotel and we will be back in a couple of years and look forward to seeing what changes and improvements they have made, in the meantime sending our love and a massive thankyou to everyone at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa especially Angara at the pool bar, we never got a chance to say goodbye so we wish you well and hope to see you again in the not too distant future.

We first came here for lunch and were warmly welcomed by Puri, the Duty Manager, who kindly showed us the room. We immediately fell in love with the hotel and decided to stay here before leaving Bali. It turned out to be the best decision—Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa did not disappoint. In fact, we were even more impressed by the excellent service and the beautiful facilities. Puri welcomed us warmly during check-in, and we were so glad to meet her again—it made us feel instantly at home. As Accor Plus members, we were delighted to receive an upgrade to a Palace Room, which was truly the highlight of our holiday. The beachfront area and restaurants were absolutely lovely, and we especially enjoyed the spa area, which was so relaxing. All of the staff were genuinely friendly and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Special thanks to the team at the Kintamani Lounge for their warm hospitality. We had a wonderful dinner at the hotel and loved the food so much at Tamarind that we returned several times. Chef Wiranata prepared such outstanding dishes—I'm still craving the pizza, pasta aglio olio, and tiramisu! Also, special thanks to Noke and Ayu Sudiari for looked after us at the restaurant. A heartfelt thank you also goes to Arini, the Front Office Manager, who came to say goodbye at check-out and kindly offered further assistance. Her thoughtfulness made our departure even more memorable, though we were sad to leave. Overall, our stay was truly special. We are already planning to return to Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa and will definitely stay longer next time. Highly recommended!

We stayed for four nights in a superior room. You cannot fault the overall charm of the hotel with its delightful pool, grounds and interesting gardens which are impeccably maintained, and of course it's wonderful beach front setting with the boardwalk and shaded sunbeds. The real pity here is that the hotel rooms are so dated and in desperate need of modernisation and a thorough clean at least. There is also a vast room for improvement in terms of the dining options but thankfully there are other establishments close at hand that offer far supreme dinner fayre than any of what is offered at the hotel's Tamarind, Cabana and beach pool dining choices that we tried. In terms of breakfasts, the range and high-quality offering is superb and thoroughly enjoyable. The lunches and evening dining affairs at the aforementioned choices are of average quality in terms of choice/taste/freshness and is not good value for money. Additionally, hospitality staff seem disinterested in the customer with poor and slow service, although in fairness the hotel was busy during our visit, and the initial interaction is always friendly. An added disappointment is that there is little ambiance to the evening dining affair with no background music playing around the dining/drinking areas and thus a general discouragement for patrons to socialise or enjoy the occasion of sitting in the grounds under a large bright moon on a balmy evening. It was particularly evident that the staff at the Cabana restaurant were more interested in wrapping things up as quickly as they could. If only they could wait until customers had left before starting the smoky/smelly clean down process of the barbeque grill and avoid the stench and smoke blowing across patrons sitting outside. In fact, their cleaning efforts would be better served by cleaning down the greasy/grimy/dirty armrests of the chairs located in the Cabana and other seating areas which are long overdue a clean down. In terms of the bedroom itself, ours was small, dirty and dated with old wooden cabinetry that is chipped, ill-fitting and damaged with our balcony doors, wardrobe doors and fridge door all dysfunctional one way or another. The lighting levels are totally inadequate by modern day standards. The bar fridge is extremely small. The bed mattress is firm and uncomfortable. The bathroom is dated with numerous shoddy and unsightly repairs on view, the cleanliness is poor, and the sewer stench and fustiness smells are a constant. The hotel discretely tries to hide an electric air freshener under the cupboards but that does not particularly help. There are no bathrobes provided. The balcony contained rickety old furniture with stained cushions. We got the distinct impression that cost cutting measures are actively in place here with inadequate housekeeping standards evidenced by poor cleaning, the constant 'rationing' of bottled water, tissues, toilet tissue, clean drinking glasses and even towels; all of which resulted in the daily chore of having to telephone housekeeping to replenish supplies.... which they did. On the positive, the hotels key reception and housekeeping staff are friendly but that alone does not make for a 5-star hotel, and this it most certainly is not. Oh, and a final point of note to those requiring an airport transfer: do negotiate the price as for some bizarre reason the front lobby transportation desk provides for a cash rate that is considerably cheaper than that offered through the concierge, located a mere ten strides away across the lobby!

This review provides an insight on the hospitality and leadership and love shown to us during our holiday to Bali. The following people need to be recognised: Concierge service: Surya Wedana who provide a smooth transition from checking and handling of our luggage to our rooms. Providing excellent customer service, friendliness and speed of service and ensuring all bags handled and delivered to our rooms without compromising the handling of our luggage. He also was efficient in ensuring our laundry was handed over to the external Bali laundry service. Pooja for handling all my customer enquiries prior to coming to Bali and handling all my enquiries. Always responsive and provided excellent customer service on WhatsApp. Mr Donna - food and beverage manager Donna looked after me and my family as though we were his family. He reserved the best seating for us for the fire show theme and made sure we were looked after by chef Riko. When Donna learned that I was sick he went above and beyond his call Of duty to ensure I was made to feel comfortable. Healthy drinks made available, to me. I was sent get well soon flowers , a jar of freshly baked Cookies, plate of bananas and so much more. Donna ensured that I was comfortable and looked after me as someone would for their family. He was always respectful, hospitable and ensured his team looked after me and my family. His team included , chef Riko who looked after our wellbeing and made sure at every evening meal we ere taken care of going through foods which would help me. Also encouraged me to eat foods that would settle my stomach. Ranthi was the best restaurant worker - a young and coming entrant to the hotel who has excellent customer service skills and knows how to look after her hotel guests. Aryathi, juni, dwi and many other staff have really looked after us and should be recognised for their customer service and hospitality skills. Meta from the sales team was responsible for arranging our renewal of vows ceremony and all the arrangements leading to our special day along with her intern Angek. Everything she did for us was at the highest standard of care as we will always remember this. Thank you. Recognition to Wedana, supadmi,(from club palace) yani at the front office who looked after our checking and resolved any queries we had and always remained exceptionally kind and respectful and remained calm. I wanted to recognise the exceptional service we received from Nona Novita, manager at the Palace club at Nusa Dua Spa Hotel. From the get go she looked after us with all the information available reminding us of the cocktail and meal times and the various food choices . We were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary and she made sure we were made to feel welcome. She never made us feel like hotel guest but a family member. The difference in the care she took was amazing . Flowers were showered, chocolates, welcome card, fruits arrived in our room, swan towels, happy anniversary decorated on our bed with flower petals. We were treated with the utmost care and love. Nona was absolutely lovely and maintained her professionalism at the same time. Even when we were no longer club members (different type of rooms) we were invited to an evening of cocktails hosted by the management and also their executive breakfast. I can thank her enough but Nona should be recognised for her care and attention and hospitality and management skills. She should be considered in a senior executive role as she embodies Bali values. She understands the country because she’s from Indonesia and the culture is to look after their guests as though they’re her family. Having Nona at a senior leadership role will place the hotel in a far more favourable light. As good as this hotel is, with Nona in a position of leadership I can see that she will steer this hotel to great heights of success. Thank you Nona for being an excellent leader and a fantastic host. I hope you succeed in what you do and do even better. Lots of best wishes from Karim, Zahra and family xxx
