We had a lovely photo session with Dreams Studio Bali. The lady was very supportive and friendly, which made us feel comfortable right away. Tubagus was a truly professional photographer, and the whole experience was wonderful.

Mixed experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We had been so looking forward to coming to this hotel after disembarking our cruise. We’d been following the reviews and had been anticipating a tired hotel with beautiful grounds, with a great, all inclusive, experience. Whilst the setting is gorgeous and the hotel is tired, as expected, there were no reviews that reflected our experience, so I feel I need to balance that. We found on registration with the hotel that there was a rigid approach to their all inclusive policy. Even though we arrived at 9am, we were clearly told that we would have to pay until our all inclusive started at 12pm and would finish at 12pm on our check out day. Sadly, I did feel that there was a policy of trying to catch you out on your inclusions and this was most evident in the Indonesian restaurant, Raja, where we spent 15minutes explaining that there was no indication on the menu that we would be charged for our choices (a green dot in all the other eating places) . A lovely waitress fought our corner and agreed that it was not clear and was their fault, but had to go back twice to someone to get agreement and it was only when we refused to sign for the items they considered non inclusive that it was agreed to not charge. Another reality for me was that I had not been forewarned by the agent or in reviews that bottled water would be limited to two small bottles per guest and only provided in the rooms. We were told we could buy bottled water in the shop. Given the humidity and the need for hydration, this seemed wrong to me. Soon figured we could fill our own water bottles in the spa by the sauna or get water in a glass at all the restaurants without paying if you ask for a glass of water so it wasn’t a problem. However, be aware that if you ask for sparkling water in the restaurants you will be charged, whereas soda water is included in the all inclusive. Further feedback is that there is no air-conditioning in any public spaces unless you had paid for a Palace Club room, which was a surprise to us. It may be due to our privileged travel experience to many 5 star hotels around the world that we had anticipated air conditioning in some public spaces, Whilst it was lovely to eat and drink out in the bars and restaurants in the humid evening air, it would have been appreciated if there was a space inside that was air conditioned, especially as the room air conditioning was not particularly efficient. I can say that I would not fault the staff, who for the most part, were lovely, gracious and accommodating.
