Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel

I would like to recognize the outstanding service provided by Carlos (Zaldivar ) an employee at the snack bar. I have been to the hotel many times and from the very first day that i met him, his energy and enthusiasm stood out. He has an incredibly infectious personality that genuinely enhances the guest experience. His positive attitude is constant, and he creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel comfortable and valued. What impressed me most is how well he knows the clients. He remembers returning guests, greets people by name, and seems to anticipate what they like. That personal touch makes a big difference in an all-inclusive setting where service can sometimes feel routine. With him, it never does. He also speaks more than one language, which is a tremendous asset in an international resort. He easily switches between languages to make sure everyone feels included and understood. It’s clear that communication and hospitality come naturally to him. Overall, he is a true asset to the hotel. His professionalism, warmth, and ability to connect with guests elevate the entire snack bar experience. Employees like him are a big part of why guests choose to return.

I had heard that this hotel was the best in Cuba and I quickly learnt that I had too high of expectations. The beach was FULL of seaweed every single day. Was a huge turnoff. The food is edible but there are very limited options and none of the food looks exciting or appealing whatsoever. None of us looked forward to the meals. Half the food has no taste whatsoever. Fruits and vegetables are all flavorless. The country is very poor. There are many basic things missing in the buffet. The pancakes are rubbery. There are egg and beef shortages. There are small bones in the food at the buffet, need to be very careful not to break any of your teeth. We were always on high alert and it was not a pleasant experience. The service was great and they did try their best, no doubt. Even something as simple as coffee, was completely watered down; it was water with a hint of coffee. The soup was water with a hint of a vegetable. They poured me guava juice out of a dirty plastic bucket, instead of a vase or pitcher, was instantly turned off. There is no peanut butter, Nutella, cream cheese, maple syrup. Only Swiss cheese available every day, no other variety of cheeses. Everything is very very basic. I’ve been to one other resort in cayo Santa Maria, and I must say that I’m happy that at least the food was edible!! But still extremely disappointing. The last time I will be in Cuba that’s for sure. The shortages are really visible in terms of Cuba’s economical stance and U.S. sanctions. The most disappointing issue that needs to be addressed ASAP, is cleaning the beach!!

Very nice hotel. Coming here the second time. Built in 2020. Amazing entertainment team. Richard is the best animator ever. Played volleyball and danced on the beach. Food is great. Rooms are nice and clean. Thank you Gran Muthu. We will come here again.

Nice place but you must upgrade for better food, room and service. The buffet food is not that good. The beach also has a section for the upgrade. I was very happy that we upgraded. Otherwise it would not have been that good. Entertainment was also very good.
