Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa

We stayed for 3 days , loved the property, nature, location , shuttle and river cruise. Vegetarian options were better at Mocha and Muffins. Breakfast at Sala Lakorn could use maybe 1-2 more options for Indian vegetarians. The staff is excellent, helped out in every way possible.

Hotel booked for us by Trailfinders. We had lovely 3 day stay here. Either ate in or across the road in the tower. Rooms really good - pool good size. Service levels excellent and as you expect in Thailand the staff were all charming and friendly. Great value too.

I booked the basic (cheapest) Deluxe room with the rate that gives an upgrade, if available. I am also a member of the chain with two room types upgrade benefit, if available. Upon check-in the staff informed that due to what I mentioned, they upgraded me to a Junior Suite room. However, the room we are in (686) has nothing like what a Junior Suite should be according to their website. It looks like the basic Deluxe room we booked and paid for. The room itself is not a problem since it’s what we signed up for but the communication here bit questionable. Communication on the GHA main website and the hotel’s is also unclear leading to staff being unclear on what is included on my booking (about meal package in this case). That being said all the staffs are polite and efficient (except the part mentioned) and know how to handle the situation. Dinner and breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The room we stayed has shower temperature problem as it’s practically impossible to adjust water temperature. We can do only hot or cold. The sink is a bit to low and can be hard to used for hand washing, brushing your teeth or simply wash your face. The welcome drinks provided can be used at two outlets (both are bars) which both of them open at 2pm and 4pm which means we didn’t use it. This and the bathroom should be improved. Housekeeping is superb.

This hotel is beautiful and clean. The pool is very nice, as well as the fitness center. While staff are friendly, there were a few things that made our stay just okay. We splurged to stay here and have a relaxing few days in Bangkok. When we checked in, we confirmed that we wanted a king sized bed, and they also told us where and the timings for breakfast. However, we found that we had twin beds instead. After many phone calls, they wouldn’t move our room and insisted on placing a mattress cover over the 2 beds to make it one. We stated that we didn’t want this and to leave it as is, but they did it anyway when we were out of the room. We weren’t offered anything for this inconvenience. When we showed up to breakfast, we were told that it wasn’t included. Usually, when breakfast isn’t included, they tell you this at check-in and also state how much it would be to add it. Finally, there are people who work at the hotel and constantly try to get you to join a talk from 10:00-11:30 about the hotel. After which, you can get some credit and a limo ride to the airport. Even after stating we didn’t want to give up time to attend, people would literally chase after us trying to talk us into it. I’ve stayed in Bangkok numerous times. There are nicer (and cheaper!) places to stay that don’t have this many inconveniences.

Great facility, nice vies and super friendly and helpful staff. Considering the price I paid, this is way more valuable hotel you must visit in Bangkok
