About the Hotel

If ever there was a way to compromise between cultural intrigue of Bangkok’s bustling streets and a relaxing retreat to one of Thailand’s coastal destinations, this is it: Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, a 400-room resort that presides over the city’s main aquatic artery. Chill out in dense tropical gardens at the edge of one of the largest outdoor pools in Bangkok before a day on the town, returning to a room outfitted in Thai silks and warm hardwoods.

Reviews for Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa

Brilliant Thai hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

From the moment the taxi door opened, we were greeted with exceptional customer service — and this continued consistently throughout our stay from every single staff member. This is truly a leadership and HR triumph, reflecting the very best of Thai culture, values, and hospitality. A wonderful hotel with an outstanding team who made our experience unforgettable.

Kid-friendly Resort with amazing staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Albeit the small space, my 4yo son had a blast at the Kids' Club (Chang Noi) under the care of friendly Khun Jasmine, Wawa & Sophia. They are excellent with kids and kept the children entertained while parents get to have a breather. The warm hospitality and attentive staff during our 3night stay made up for the small pool and mediocre breakfast. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable getaway in Bangkok.

Absolutely Fabulous!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Stayed here twice in August 2025 for a family vacation while in Bangkok. Everything is just superb, from the location, to the staff, to the food, to the facilities and overall Anantara Experience. The hotel arrange tours are also fabulous, the ones provided by and run by the hotel. This is a must experience hotel for anyone visiting Bangkok.

Significantly worse than Peninsula Bangkok

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I stayed at Anantara Riverside Bangkok for 5 nights in August 2025 and overall it did not compare to Peninsula Bangkok where I stayed earlier in the year for the following reasons: - Service: Peninsula has a 24/7 WhatsApp concierge which is fantastic, Anantara has a 24/7 in-person concierge however I found they were pushing their own alliance providers e.g. private cars rather than what is best possible value for us - Rooms: Peninsula rooms are majestic, they are more than 4x the size and very well maintained whilst still maintaining the traditional Thai wooden decor, while Anantara rooms need renovation. The Peninsula bathrooms have two sinks and a rain shower with strong water pressure and significantly better bathroom amenities, while the Anantara bathrooms are small, dated and have white LED lighting - Wellness: Peninsula provides free-of-charge wellness activities everyday with each stay e.g. yoga, basket weaving, cooking classes, Muay Thai. Anantara has a few of these but at a high cost. Spas are also overpriced at Anantara - Gym: Peninsula gym is fantastic but the best part was that the gym trainer also gives a complimentary Thai stretch down after a gym session. Anantara gym is very average - Restaurants: Anantara has a bunch of international cuisine restaurants e.g. American, Italian, etc (all overpriced) but no good Thai restaurant. The Peninsula Thai restaurant was fantastic and well priced - Breakfast: Anantara has a wide selection but the quality could be better, there were no higher cost foods (mangoes for example). At Peninsula there wasn’t just mangoes there was a mango menu (different varieties), a supplements bar, better quality croissants, and overall quality of food was much better - Swimming pool: Anantara pool was ok but crowded. The Peninsula pool has a wonderful outlook of the river and wooden Thai style cabanas which was absolutely beautiful, and not overcrowded - Location: Anantara Riverside was far away from all the other 5 star hotels Overall the price was not significantly different and I will definitely be staying at the Peninsula Bangkok next time. Anantara Riverside did not meet expectations and in fact was closer to a 4 star hotel. I would put Capella / Mandarin Oriental / Peninsula / Four Seasons in the 5 star category and Anantara Riverside Bangkok does not even nearly meet this mark.
