If ever there was a way to compromise between cultural intrigue of Bangkok’s bustling streets and a relaxing retreat to one of Thailand’s coastal destinations, this is it: Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, a 400-room resort that presides over the city’s main aquatic artery. Chill out in dense tropical gardens at the edge of one of the largest outdoor pools in Bangkok before a day on the town, returning to a room outfitted in Thai silks and warm hardwoods.

We stayed three nights in a riverside room, which was spacious, comfortable, but could do with a bit of a refresh. The facilities of the hotel are excellent, and it has a wonderful choice of restaurants. The Italian restaurant is top and I remarked that the chef must be Italian. Surely enough, he came around to see me and he was a Roman, as I am by birth. The breakfast is fantastic with a huge high quality selection. All of this pales compared to the extraordinary quality and kindness of the staff. Rarely have I been so touched by such genuine solicitousness and thoughtfulness. In particular I remark the great help and efficiency offered by the concierge team. Should I return to Bangkok, I will definitely go back to the Anantara.

I have visited Bangkok 2-3 times a year for the past 6 years. In the meantime, if I had known GHA's service and Anantara Riverside Bangkok's meticulous service, I would always have chosen this place. [Location] If you use the Icon Siam shopping mall, this hotel is very helpful as it is located to avoid traffic jam in addition to shuttle boats. You can also easily get to Asiatique. [Sevices] I asked the hotel for some special things before the trip. They were ready and waiting for me to arrive, Kasara Lounge carefully conducted the check-in process to follow up on my special requests. And most of the employees who talked to us during our stay remembered and served our family carefully. I think it's a service that's hard to find in other hotels. [Check in/out process] The staff was fluent in English and actively assisted the check-in/out process smoothly. [Room condition] The traditional Thai wood interiors and fabrics were impressive. Most of all, it is hard to keep clean in these interiors, but Anantara Riverside Bangkok was very clean. [Breakfast] Many hotels in Bangkok have excellent breakfast compared to other regions. Breakfast at Anantara Riverside Bangkok ranks among the best in variety and quality. Traditional Thai food, as well as Asian, Middle Eastern, and Western cuisine, was also excellent at the level. [Executive Lounge] The Executive Lounge at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort is more relaxed than other hotels' lounges and offers a very high level of food, serving, and more. If you want to fully enjoy the hotel, we recommend booking a room with the Executive Lounge Access option.

Though the grounds are lovely and kept well the resort is quite dated Brio restaurant expensive and you never see anyone in there, Trader Vics has had its day, the Elephant bar now looks like a pub in spain with pool table and dart board. Beni Hannas moved to the small mall. there are now much better options of hotels along the Riverside in Bangkok
