Capella Bangkok is the ultimate riverside sanctuary—a peaceful luxury escape from the city’s frantic pace, yet just across the river from vibrant Charoenkrung. Despite its serene seclusion, the hotel’s complimentary boat shuttles whisk you to the BTS station and nearby mall (ICON SIAM) effortlessly. The standard room is enormous, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing breathtaking river views with a balcony. Afternoon tea and happy hour in the Living Room are pure indulgence. It’s no wonder this gem holds World’s Best Top 3 rankings for 2024 and 2025. What truly set our stay apart was their attentive staff, who offered a late checkout so we could savor every moment before our evening flight. Unforgettable!

I, together with my sister chose Capella Bangkok for a two-night birthday celebration, two dingle room and it was a memorable stay. The room was beautifully designed, spacious, immaculate, and complemented by a stunning view of the Chao Phraya River. Dining at Phra Nakhon was another highlight. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional, with excellent food quality and warm, attentive service from the team. Service throughout the hotel was consistently genuine and professional. The only area with room for improvement is the Front Office. While the team was polite and welcoming, the level of product knowledge and confidence when responding to guests' questions could be stronger as well as how to handle the guest' feedbacks. A more engaging and polished approach would better reflect the exceptional standard Capella Bangkok is known for. Overall, a wonderful birthday celebration and a stay I would happily recommend.

This was my third stay at Capella Bangkok in three consecutive years, and the magic has not faded. The moment we arrived, I felt instantly happy, which is perhaps the clearest sign that a hotel is doing something very right. We also appreciated the fact that they recognised our previous stay. Capella is a beautifully controlled riverside sanctuary: exceptionally peaceful, private and polished. It feels more like an urban resort than a grand, theatrical city hotel. Think of it as the hotel equivalent of an expensive, logo-free handbag: understated, impeccably made and recognised by those who know. The guest-only Living Room adds to that sense of privacy and exclusivity. It has the relax atmosphere as well where you can go to the Living Room in flip flop and shorts (although i have seen people in dressing gown). The daily 'Cin Cin Hour', usually from 5pm to 6pm, is a particularly lovely touch. It creates a relaxed social ritual without turning the hotel into a crowded lobby bar or networking event nobody asked to attend. We stayed in a Verandah room with an outdoor terrace and Jacuzzi plunge pool, an indulgent retreat after a day in Bangkok. Service throughout was seamless. Our luggage reached the room before we did, laundry was delivered promptly although we used an outside service, and housekeeping was exceptional. Amenities and the minibar were replenished frequently, often before we even noticed anything was missing. Breakfast at Phra Nakhon remains one of my favourites anywhere in the world. There is a beautifully presented buffet of pastries, fruit, charcuterie, salads, alongside an extensive made-to-order menu selected by tablet. Options range from Thai, Chinese and Japanese dishes to Western classics: pad kra pao, rice porridge, noodle soup, korean beef short rib soup, yasai nimono, grilled fish, pork skewers, mango sticky rice and more inventive creations such as unagi eggs Benedict. Breakfast here is not merely a meal; it is a scheduling hazard given I only have one stomach. Phra Nakhon is equally enjoyable for dinner. Its riverside terrace, authentic regional Thai cooking, generous menu and relaxed atmosphere make it the restaurant I consistently return to. I particularly love the Pla Anggoey Rad Prik, beef massamam that we ordered every year. The complimentary boat connects the hotel with ICONSIAM and Sathorn Pier, where guests can access the BTS. ICONSIAM is roughly ten minutes away, so the hotel feels pleasantly removed from central Bangkok without being inconveniently isolated. Personally, I love the boat journey: it turns getting from A to B into part of the destination, rather than another episode of the daily grind. However, the frequency is only every hour so bear in mind and do some planning! Capella is not for those seeking chandeliers, crowds and a see-and-be-seen lobby. It is for travellers who value calm, discretion, thoughtful service and quiet luxury. Three stays later, it remains one of the few hotels where simply arriving feels like returning home.

Great atmosphere and fantastic service! The staff (khun Toon, khun Nook and khun Yok) at Stella Bar are extremely friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. Highly recommended
