Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

Lovely dinner

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

First of all, I would like to say that I was very impressed with the hotel. The grounds are beautiful, clean, and offer a wonderful atmosphere. We had dinner at the Riva del del fiume restaurant, and our server, Pao, was absolutely delightful. He provided exceptional service, explained each dish very well, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the evening. The food was outstanding from start to finish. Every course was delicious, from the appetizers to the desserts. My personal favorites were the bread served at the beginning of the meal and the sorbet. I have never tasted a sorbet quite as delicious as this before. Pao’s presentation of the sorbet made it look even more appealing and special. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we truly enjoyed every moment. I will definitely return again when I have the opportunity. Highly recommended!

Four Seasons Bangkok is simply amazing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We stayed at the Four Seasons Bangkok in the second part of our family trip and what a way to end our trip. The property itself is one of a kind. I'm not an art/interior design expert or fanatic but the inside has to be one of the most visually stunning hotels in the world. I've read in several articles that it is among the world's best and it certainly lived up to that reputation. Every aspect of the hotel is aesthetically beautiful with certain details that were really thoughtful and creative. For example, on one of the walls is an art piece that was almost floor to ceiling and is in the shape of the Chao Phraya river and it was quite beautiful while paying homage to the locality and culture of the area. Our room had a (very high) ceiling to floor window that was massive that overlooked the river and I literally could stare out the window all day and nothing was better than waking up and opening the shades. Although we didn't swim or workout, the gym was spotless and the pool area was huge and amazing as it sits riverside. The breakfast was delicious with a nice mix of menu items you can select from and a buffet, but what made it special everyday was the smiling and kind staff. Bowie helped our table 2 days and she was so positive, helpful and gave our day a happy start each time. In general, the service was amazing as you would expect from a Four Seasons but somehow this team was able to exceed those expectations. Amazing stay at an amazing property.

Somehow Even Better Than We Remembered

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We came back to Four Seasons Bangkok almost two years after our last stay, and honestly, we left asking ourselves how it managed to get even better. The service here is on another level. Not in a stiff or overly formal way, but in the kind of way where everyone just makes you feel genuinely welcomed and looked after. Every staff member we met was friendly, kind, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The smiles, the greetings, the small moments throughout the day, they all add up and make the whole stay feel special. The rooms are huge. Really huge. What this hotel calls a basic room would probably be sold as a suite in many other hotels. They are spacious, comfortable, beautifully designed, and exactly the kind of room you actually want to spend time in. The amenities are also excellent, and the spa was a real highlight. I can easily say it was one of the best massages I have ever had. And then there is the food. We had plans to try more restaurants around Bangkok, but we kept finding ourselves going back to the hotel to eat. That probably says everything. Breakfast was great, Riva del Fiume was really good, and Brasserie Palmier had some of the best steak I have ever had. But the biggest surprise for us was the Lobby Bar. I know, a lobby bar does not sound like the place you expect to have one of your best meals, but this one was seriously amazing. The food was excellent, the staff were wonderful, and everyone was so accommodating. It quickly became one of those places we kept wanting to go back to, whether it was for a full meal or just a coffee and dessert before calling it a night. The pool is another beautiful part of the hotel. The view over the river is stunning, and the staff there were just as friendly and attentive as everyone else. One thing we really appreciated was how easy it was to communicate with the hotel through WhatsApp. It made everything so convenient. Whatever we needed, they replied quickly and were always helpful and accommodating. Ploy, the manager, checked in on us several times by text and also came by in person at breakfast to make sure my family and I were enjoying our stay. That kind of attention really means a lot. A special thank you to Jo from valet and Som from the reception team. They both helped make the stay even more memorable. I also want to recognize the rest of the staff throughout the hotel. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and eager to help. Overall, this is one of those hotels where the building, rooms, food, and amenities are all amazing, but the people are what make it truly exceptional. Four Seasons Bangkok was already one of our favorite hotels, and somehow it has become even better. We cannot wait to come back.

With stunning design + exceptional service, the Four Seasons at Chao Phraya River is one of the best hotels in the world

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Walking into the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River is like walking into a living work of art. Gorgeous architecture, interior design, landscape design, water features, paintings, sculpture, books, stunning, towering florals, and, lighting that is both functional and dramatic. Yet, somehow, even more impressively, it’s not at all cold, sterile, or unapproachable. Instead, it invites you to get comfortable, lounge, have a conversation, and, maybe, a cocktail or two. That warmth and conviviality is exemplified, too, by the service, which is, in a word, exceptional. Upon arrival, we were greeted by “Ing,” who made us feel instantly at home. We were hoping for an early check-in, but, our room wasn’t quite ready, so Ing led us to the Lobby Lounge, which over the next few days would become our favorite hang-out. And, when it was ready, Ing returned to personally escort us to our room, which proved to be worth the wait. Stunning, head-on views of the Chao Phraya River greeted us from the large picture window. We had a Premier River View Room, which was spacious, comfortable, functional, and, of course, exquisitely designed. Moreover, to commemorate our 40th Anniversary, our room was adorned with special treats, decorations, and a hand-written card by hotel management. Later, Ing also sent over a bottle of wine, and, even more decorations. Over the next three nights, whether we were enjoying our room, or the hotel’s numerous restaurants and public spaces, we felt like we were in a private oasis, a respite from the sometimes stifling heat and chaos of the bustling city. And there was never a moment we didn’t feel welcome here. My husband is disabled and in a motorized wheelchair, and the staff went out of its way, without being obsequious, to help provide accessible routes for him to navigate the hotel’s many areas. In particular, I have to single out “O,” who escorted us from the Reva restaurant, through the lobby, and then the hotel’s art gallery, all because my husband wanted to get to, and then “stroll,” the riverfront promenade. Also, “Am,” who took us through a restaurant’s back kitchen corridor so that we could access even another area. And, no review of this property would be complete without mentioning the spectacular food of its restaurants and lounges. From fine dining, to buffet breakfasts, to casual lunches and snacks, this hotel has it all, including some delicious Thai food. Upon leaving, we also utilized the hotel’s car service (for an additional fee, of course) to drive us to the airport. Not only did our driver provide us a safe, timely, and comfortable ride, we were met at the airport by another hotel employee who escorted us to the airline ticket counter, and then ushered us through airport security and immigration. From start to finish, the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River delivered, and showed just why it is consistently ranked among the best hotels in the world. We can’t wait until we’re fortunate enough to go back!

Four Seasons Bangkok, Almost perfect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The Four Seasons Hotel in Bangkok is a beautifully designed building wherever you go, the attention to detail is awesome. We spent a night here for a short staycation. The room features a beautiful, spacious bathroom and the rest of the space is just as carefully put together. Everything felt considered and refined. The staff were well mannered and genuinely lovely, they kept complimenting my girlfriend, who was getting ready for dinner. She did look stunning, and their words made me feel so proud of having her by my side. We started our stay with lunch in the lobby, though we were quite disappointed by the quality and taste of the food. We ordered a sandwich and a focaccia that honestly could have come from a 7/11 at a fraction of the price. The french fries were good, but that's a hard thing to get wrong. Lunch left us underwhelmed enough that we decided to skip dinner at the hotel as well. In the evening, we returned for drinks at the Social BKK Club. The bar was gorgeous, again with wonderful staff. We ordered two cocktails, one of them having lychee. My girlfriend was particularly into the lychee garnish, and without missing a beat, the staff (Ekar?Igor?) brought her a few extra. A real eye for what guests enjoy, and a lovely gentleman to have a conversation with. The gym has everything you could ask for, and the view of the river is stunning. The garden is equally beautiful, whether you're looking at it from your room or sitting in it yourself. In the morning we ordered pancakes, which unfortunately were also a letdown. Overall, it was a great stay. The Four Seasons lives up to its name in most ways, they just have some room to grow when it comes to the food.
