It was an absolute delight to have stayed in Kimpton Maa-lai. The lobby was divine, and the room was fantastic. I would also like to thank Eric, who helped us from the beginning to the very end of our stay. His professionalism really shined when we wanted to address some requests about our room. :)

We returned to Kimpton Maalai this year because of the wonderful experience we had during our previous stay with my mother-in-law. The hospitality back then was warm, thoughtful, and memorable, and it made us excited to come back. Sadly, this visit did not reflect the same 5-star standard. Our stay began with a disappointing check-in. We arrived around 1 PM and were told our room would be ready in two hours. When we returned at the suggested time, the manager on duty responded in a way that felt more dismissive than welcoming. Instead of acknowledging the delay, he explained that the room was not ready because we were given an upgrade, an upgrade we never requested. The tone left us feeling as though the inconvenience was somehow our responsibility. When I calmly asked what he would do if he were in my position, his response, “May I offer you water?”, felt dismissive and did not address the concern. For a hotel positioning itself as a 5-star property, the interaction lacked the warmth and professionalism we expected. We also found cleanliness issues upon entering the room, including hair on the floor, dried contact lenses, and visible marks on the table. These details were surprising for a hotel of this caliber and added to the overall sense that the experience fell short. The property itself remains beautiful, and we truly wanted to enjoy our stay as much as we did last time. However, both the service and room preparation did not match the high standard we had previously experienced. I am not asking for compensation. I simply hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences, so that everyone can receive the respect, attentiveness, and hospitality that Kimpton Maalai is known for.

I don’t usually write reviews but my stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. Palm at the front desk really made it unforgettable, from the minute we stepped into the lobby we felt at home. The greeting we received was so warm and welcoming that it will stay with us for months to come. The rooms are incredibly beautiful and well maintained, we sadly did not visit the bars and restaurants because we wanted to explore the local food scene. However the breakfast did give us quite the enjoyment. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming stay at a superb hotel in an unforgettable location.

The first impression of the Kimpton Maa Lai's outdoor area was lovely and the location is excellent. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very kind concierges, and even before entering the front door, we could smell the wonderful, subtle fragrance that permeates the entire hotel. We were warmly welcomed by our assistant, Tina, who provided us with outstanding support throughout our stay, helped us with any questions, and showed us to our room. Our room was beautiful, spacious with a great view, and always kept spotlessly clean. We had breakfast included, and it was the best buffet I have ever had. Great view, superb service, wonderful food, delicious coffee, and a delicious special breakfast option. The rooftop bar is also impressive and is in no way inferior to other, more famous bars and restaurants. For us, only the Kimpton comes into question for any future stays in Bangkok. It convinced us in every single aspect. We would like to thank all of the very kind staff and especially Tina once again for her thoughtful support, which allowed us to enjoy our stay so much.
