Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok

Has a nice view of the river. You have to ride a ferry to go to the mall across the river with affordable fee. Theres a near 7/11 and a streets full of cheap thai foods and taste really good. Its a good location you never have to worry. Theres even a store of canabis line in the streets too.

Stayed as part of a conference. Rooms are a good size and there is a shower and bath. The shower wasn’t very powerful but OK. Room was efficiently made up each day and a turn down service in the afternoon. The bed was medium to firm. A bit too firm for me and I didn’t sleep very well as a result. Air con quiet and good. Wardrobe space and general storage OK. We had lounge access which was a very nice space of different areas. You could order eggs for breakfast and there was a good selection of other food. We didn’t have the afternoon tea but did experience the “happy hour”. A good selection of drinks and staff were very good at topping your glass up. A small buffet was also supplied. The hotel has views over the river and boat shuttle services to the shopping mall. You can also get a boat to other hotels like The Peninsula and Mandarin Oriental. There is a good sized gym with selection of equipment. The bar/ restaurant on the lower ground floor has outdoor seating.

Staying at Shangri-la is always an awesome experience. It is the same as Shangri-la Bangkok. Check in is smooth and easy. Breakfast is great at Next2 Cafe and the horizon lounge. The staff at Horizon lounge, Sasa and Ploy were nice and attentive. Chinese food is excellent at Shang Palace and Italian food is also good at Volti. The female manager at Shang Palace is also very attentive. Though room is a bit old but it is comfortable and spot less. Took the hotel limousine to aiport and it was great to have a Shangri-la hotel staff, Nicky to assist with check in and luggage. Overall, excellent stay and food.

This is my third stay at the Shangri-La in the last 2 years. Stayed 5 nights in a Club Suite this time with my family. We received a surprise welcome upon arrival at the airport with "Niki" & her team greeting us and ensuring we got into our pre-booked transport. Check-in was incredibly smooth with Alisa (Horizon Club Manager) handling every detail with impeccable standards & her trademark charming professionalism. We received a very warm welcome back and enjoyed the Club Lounge's legendary pre-dinner cocktails and canapes immediately upon check-in. It was great to see familiar faces who remembered us and went out the way to ensure all our needs were attended to throughout our stay. The stay was overall again exceptional except for minor issues like faulty electrical sockets and temperature regulation in the shower, which were speedily rectified when brought to the attention of the service staff. After rectification, we received letters of apology from management which we appreciated. These perhaps are inevitable tell-tale signs of the increasing age of this grand old "dame" of riverside hotels in BKK. Will we stay a fourth time? Most certainly. And we would highly recommend anyone who hasn't stayed at this hotel to consider staying here...and book a Club floor room...in order to enjoy the exquisite and bespoke experience of the Shangri-La BKK's Horizon Club Lounge. Wonderful hotel, all the staff are amazing and so helpful, rooms spotless,bringing fresh fruit for you while round the pool was nice, breakfast was a great choice, plenty of places to eat, easy access to Sathon pier to get river ferries, nice free ferry to ICONSIAM
