Amazing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This was a fantastic hotel. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite with amazing views over the river. It is close to the pier, and we took the fast boat to all the sights. Would highly recommend Wang Lang market. It is also conveniently located near the Skytrain, offering quick and comfortable transportation. We had access to the Horizon Club, which had lovely light breakfasts - thanks to Ammy and Walita. We also went there for fantastic afternoon teas, thanks to Oui, Kook, Sasa, Jean, and Wannisa. The service was just excellent. Would highly recommend.

Timeless elegance with true Thai hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We spent 3 nights in the Krungthep Wing Shangri-La Residences. It was our second time staying at a Shangri-la, and we were met with the ever so memorable Shangri-la welcoming fragrance, and smiles, Everything from the airport meet and greet, to the friendly welcome by the front of house team and door men, was seamless and easy. The room was stunning timeless elegance, it was well appointed with a beautiful bathroom, awesome amount of closet space, (I got lost in the closet) and a stunning view of the Chao Phraya river. I was pleased we booked the Krungthep Wing as there was a large conference in the main hotel which made the beautiful lobby very noisy at times and breakfast time very busy, but over in the Krungthep Wing it was calm, tranquil and peaceful. Whilst there was a bit of a walk to get to breakfast over in the main hotel, breakfast was plentiful with many choices, the Croffles are not to be missed! And the staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed every minute at the Shangri-la Bangkok and look forward to our return, it was a little bit of Thai luxury in a wonderfully chaotic city!

Health club and tennis court

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

As a UOB Zenith cardholder, I regularly visit the Health Club at Shangri-La and have been deeply impressed by the level of service provided by the staff. Everyone is friendly, empathy, and attentive. For instance, Khun So is very helpful when i use the locker facilities, and she keeps everything clean and hygiene all the time. I also use the tennis court and have been taking tennis lessons with Khun Champ. I truly enjoy these classes — they have given me the opportunity to try something new and fun. Khun Champ is very professional and makes every class both enjoyable and engaging. His approach to teach keeps me motivated and excited to exercise. However, I noticed that the tennis court surface is quite old and not in very good condition. It would be safer to both staff and guests with some renovation. With the growing interest in tennis among many people these days, the renovated court would help attract even more players to the facility. Overall, I’m very impressed with the quality of service at the Health Club. The staff create such a positive and welcoming experience that I always look forward to returning for both fitness and relaxation.

I noticed that I had lost all the documentation pertaining to my booking as I was checking in at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok. It did not seem to matter, since they had all the details of my booking, and to my great surprise I was given an upgrade in the King Kungthrup Wing. An unforgettable experience.
