The best hotel in Bangkok. It was our second time in Thailand and our first time at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything was easy: quick check-in, the room was always clean, quiet hallways, the food was extremely good, and the staff was very helpful... everything was great. Highly recommended.

I really love staying at this hotel. The service is consistent, the rooms are large, and clean. This trip we stayed at the older tower so it’s a little bit of a walk to the main area and breakfast but I actually prefer it. The balcony view of the river is amazing, both morning and night. Compared to pre-Covid, the dinner buffet isn’t quite as good but overall, it’s a great place to stay. Also easy to get to Icon Siam which is a bonus.

We have stayed at many hotels in Bangkok before, but not the Shangri La. It is a beautiful hotel, with nothing to fault - gorgeous ornate Thai luxury style. We upgraded to the club room and had drinks and nibbles in the club each night, which was lovely. The breakfast was huge, so many options. The gym was also fantastic. The lobby bar was also excellent. The complimentary boat to iconic Siam and back each day was excellent. The boat down the road is what you use at night, it’s only 8 baht - if it’s too late for the complimentary boat. Having the shopping centre so close was fantastic. The BTS train is also only footsteps away if you want to shop at other centres like Siam Paragon etc. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with excellent staff - put this one on your list. It’s so close to so much and it’s so lovely being on the river

We chose Shangri-La Bangkok to begin our honeymoon expecting excellence, care, and at the very least, basic professionalism. What we received was, frankly, a disgrace. The first morning went well—we had breakfast at the hotel without issue. However, things quickly went downhill. On the second day, due to an early excursion, the hotel provided us with a “picnic breakfast” that was embarrassingly poor. We had clearly informed the staff in advance that my wife is celiac and requires gluten-free food. Not only was this completely ignored, but she was left with absolutely nothing she could safely eat. This is not just disappointing—it’s dangerous and unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be of international standard. On the third day, we personally went to reception to raise our concern and to make sure the same mistake wouldn’t be repeated on our final morning, as we were checking out early. The receptionist assured us that the hotel would take responsibility and provide a proper breakfast to our room, free of charge, as an apology for the previous mishap. To our shock, when it was time to check out, the deposit refund was not returned in full. They had charged us for the very same breakfast they had promised would be complimentary. Despite numerous emails and calls since then, the hotel has yet to return the money or even issue a proper apology. The silence speaks volumes. It’s baffling and disgraceful that a hotel under the Shangri-La brand would behave with such negligence, lack of empathy, and ultimately dishonesty. This was our honeymoon—an occasion we’ll never get back. Instead of being cared for, we were lied to, ignored, and charged for something we were told was complimentary, after a serious dietary issue that could have affected my wife’s health. A hotel of this supposed category should know that guest trust is everything. In our case, they failed spectacularly. I hope this serves as a warning to others, especially anyone with dietary requirements or expecting a stress-free experience. We’ll never stay at a Shangri-La hotel again—and will strongly advise others to do the same.

Has a nice view of the river. You have to ride a ferry to go to the mall across the river with affordable fee. Theres a near 7/11 and a streets full of cheap thai foods and taste really good. Its a good location you never have to worry. Theres even a store of canabis line in the streets too.

I noticed that I had lost all the documentation pertaining to my booking as I was checking in at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok. It did not seem to matter, since they had all the details of my booking, and to my great surprise I was given an upgrade in the King Kungthrup Wing. An unforgettable experience.
