Most poorly managed fancy hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I don’t often review hotels. Having worked in the industry previously I feel it is unfair for an insider to pass judgment given the endless constraints that I am well aware of. However, I make an exception to this for my most recent stay here. Upon arrival at the hotel by car, we clearly stated to the driveway attendant that we wanted to check in and were directed into the carpark where we drove around for 10min until we were redirected by the carpark attendant back downstairs to the entry area so that we could unload our vehicle and check in. Then we are taken up to the lobby level to check in and wait over 15 minutes to be told that we are in a queue to check in. It would have been easy for them to tell us this upon arrival and we would have just left our bags and then come back later. When we do finally come back later to check in, we are again informed that there is a queue to check in and end up waiting another 15 minutes to get our room key. Check in should be a 5-minute process that ended up being almost 45-minutes for us. Exhausted we get to our room and are immediately disappointed. The door is black and is covered with grimly white marks which remained there for our entire stay. Housekeeping staff at this hotel clearly has little interest in actually looking at or cleaning any surface. Surely it couldn’t get much worse could it? We go into the room and there is an entire wall covered in large square black tiles - clearly inspired by a tomb. There is even minimal lighting in the room so that you can be reminded what is it like to sleep in a crypt. I shalln’t be back again.

My 4th visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

My 4th visit to this hotel and i had a good stay again. As a all accor member. I always book the "club signature" rooms so you can get lounge access that i visit everyday because its a calm and nice area to eat and enjoy a drink in. The hotel is very clean and the lobby is so nice and smell good. You always get a warm welcome from the boys in the lobby when you arrive in your car. You can see that the hotel is getting old but its clean and nice anyway. What suprised me was that i asked for a upgrade and would pay for it ofcourse but even if the hotel was half full i could only get a new upgrade room available the next day. So i said no to that. I never been on a hotel that couldnt say "yes we upgrade you directly" and i might have to wait 1-2hours. There was some new staff and you can notice that, it was some down part at the service. But overal i was happy with my stay!
