I’ve been staying at the Sofitel So (now just “SO”) for almost ten years. I keep coming back because I really like the location — the hotel is modern, stylish, and has a youthful vibe. The staff is friendly, spa is great. However, I’ve started to notice that, over the years, the hotel is beginning to feel a bit outdated. Sooner or later, they’ll need to renovate the rooms, especially the ones with the wood-themed design and the all-white décor. What I find most disappointing is that the pool water is always so cold. I’ve stayed at many hotels in Bangkok — from 3 to 5 stars — and I’ve never seen one with a pool this beautiful yet with freezing water. I just don’t understand it. They should really consider investing in keeping the pool temperature more comfortable. That’s my only suggestion for the hotel to be truly perfect.

Good value for accor members. Spacious room. We got upgraded to suite. The hotel is special with many room types. Highlights are very well maintained gym & pool & sauna. The welcome amenities should be better for Diamond.

So Bangkok is a place to relax and unwind after the bustle of Bangkok. The staff are second to none and looked after us so well. They are gracious, friendly and unobtrusive. The teams in Club Signature lounge and Red Oven were exceptional in there service. Our room was brilliant and so comfortable. We look forward to staying at this wonderful hotel next year.

Interesting hotel - but really poorly managed and a lot of inconvenience. Firstly, the hotel has a unique design to it with the elemental room themes. However, that's where the good ends. The elevators are an absolute disaster. They take forever and you have to catch 2 different elevators just to get your room. Really strange how they designed this -- you'll have to plan for an extra 15 minutes just to get in and out of your room. Also, the property had issues. The Sauna was broken (despite asking if it was working and being told it was - as this is a reason I book hotels to use the sauna for health). The rooftop under construction, and very unresponsive hotel customer service both through the app and through the phone (long waits just to ask a simple question). Also, I booked through Amex Hotel Collection and was supposed to receive a hotel credit, but upon checkout I was told that my charges wouldn't be credited and had to talk to a manager who actually said that yes - the charges should be credited. Massive confusion amongst the staff for something that should be very straightforward. Finally, one of the worst 5 star hotel breakfasts you'll come across, *especially* in Bangkok where hotels take pride in their breakfast offerings. The pastries/bread was stale every day - the juice was not fresh, and the egg offerings were minimal. Just a huge disappointment. Overall, not a great stay and so many better options in Bangkok.

We had a very pleasant stay, we would like to especially mention Mint from the reception, she went out of her way to help us and did everything she could to make us feel like VIP guests,🥇
