Don't bother staying here - run down and overpriced
Unfortunately, this hotel has gone WAY done hill! I stayed here three years ago and it was literally perfect. Now, it is incredibly run down and tacky with very poor service. Upon arrival, the car and concierge were perfect. Check-in was a disaster - they told me they upgraded me but put me in the same room I booked (which is fine, but don't say otherwise) and the room was disgusting. Covered in mould and dust + had broken floor boards and NAILS sticking out - I tripped and hurt my foot. Glass was broken, mould in the bathroom and everything chipped - it was very, very poor and with the nails, shouldn't even be a room they put people in. I, after a lot of hassle and made to feel like it was my problem, was moved to a SMALLER room. It was ridiculous. I was compensated for this inconvenience, rightfully so, but was a terrible experience. The receptionists are rude, defensive and aggressive, never had one kind interaction. The view though is incredible, but with so many other incredible hotels now offering it around the park, I would never stay here again. The bar upstairs is tacky now. This makes me sad as my first stay was perfect - they need to invest serious money into renovations + training their staff or reduce to a 3 - 4 star. The Red Oven has some of the best food in thailand though so that experience was always perfect!

My home away from home
I am an absolute fan of SO/ Bangkok! The staff are amazing! Even though the hotel is a little old, it works for me. I have been staying there since 2024 for all my bangkok trips and last year, I was at SO only 7 times, once for more than 4 weeks! Special shout out to the staff at the Executive Lounge who always take care of me, and also a special shout out to Tar, my personal trainer at the gym - focused on my personal wellness always! Even the staff at the dining hall at level 7 - they always whisper "welcome home Mr Lee" when they see me!

Perfect Facilities, good location with perfect staff
It was nice experience with captain pop. Great hospitality from the check - in, he made our day. I will definitely stay here again someday.
