Great location. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Very good breakfast. Pro-active staff. Special mention of Luca, New and Eve who made our stay even better than expected. New and Luca thank you for proposing and arranging dining venues.

It is a real 5 stars place where you can stay without any doubt. Rooms are big and nice, breakfast buffet is very nice. Swimming pool just amazing. I can recommend.

Foreigners READ full The location is good ..10 mina to sky train. 5 mins to MRT (underground metro) Though its a 5 star.. it lacks that service... Hence 1 star Check-in: They need to have English understanding staff in lobby in night as well Elevator - you need to take 1 elevator from GF to lobby on 9th and then change to different set of elevators to go to the room Passage - little worn out. Needs touchup and repair Themes - the hotel is divided into 4 themes - metal, Earth, water and one more.. Room - --> very dark and dingy. Very few lights and not properly placed. .. --> Electrical sockets only on one side of bed so other person needs to use charge phone on table --> the head board were loose --> tile flooring.. only mopped so still feels sticky Bathroom --> The water comes out of shower --> the hot water keeps turning cold in between --> the amenities kit (separate drawer) is too hard to open.. can easily fall and hurt you --> you have to figure out how to operate the curtains yourself --> on second day, the bathroom was cleaned but all towels removed. So had to call and ask In room service --> very poor for every thing.. easily takes 20-30 mins for small request. Guess they are under staffed Housekeeping --> i had DND on.. still the HK team knocked on the door to clean the room Breakfast buffet --> for vegetarians - very limited options.. salad, breads, fruits --> had to explain 04 times that i wanted flat white cold coffee.. 1st got espresso in 10 15 mins, then amricano i 10 15 mins, then asked again, finally got iced Latte.. Good part - fresh juices Restaurant reviewed separately I'm shocked why is it 4.5 on Tripadvisor

S/O is well located, though not everyone may agree, about a five-minute walk from Lumphini MRT. At the south-east corner of Lumphini Park, it is well away from the noise and churn of Sukhumvit. There isn’t a whole lot by way of things to do in the vicinity, apart from going to malls, and maybe taking a walk in the park, of course. You can cross a few roads and get to the One Bangkok mall, or walk in the direction of Silom MRT, which will take you to the Dusit mall. I had a Wood room (if I remember correctly) facing the park, which is an impressive view. The room was large, and the window was flanked by a couch on one side and a desk on the other. The design of the room was conventional, unlike in some of the other themes you can pick from. Somewhat oddly, there wasn’t any drinking water on offer in the room. In the bathroom, the shower and toilet were separated into their own little cabins. The tub was a standard size. The toiletries were in the usual dispensers and were not from a premium brand. While there is a reception area on the ground floor, I needed to check in and out using the reception area on the same floor as one of the bars - floor nine, if I remember. Having to take two lifts every time you went in and out of the hotel added a little time and effort each time. Not sure who occupies the first few floors of the building. Breakfast, in the Red Oven all-day restaurant, was good but not great – eggs cooked to order were kind of sub-par – and the room was probably a little small for the number of guests the hotel gets. It tended to be fairly crowded at around 8am. The Japanese restaurant, Soshi, which I ate at, was solid. There’s a new (I was told) bar on the top floor. Great views and spectacular design, but the music gets a little loud come sundown, and a lot of people in there seemed very into taking selfies. The pool, on floor 11, is a good size. Unfortunately the water was extremely chilly - not something I ever thought might be said about an open-air pool in Bangkok! – because I don’t think the pool got any direct sunlight at any point during the day. Nearly all the employees I came across were friendly and courteous, but you did occasionally get the feeling that some were going through the motions. Overall, I would probably not stay here again. Bangkok is not short on hotels and there are a fair few in the same price bracket as the SO that are better for my needs.
