The location, hotel rooms and facilities themselves in this hotel are great. The bed is comfortable, room is dark, and amenities are everything you would expect. The restaurants serve great food with lovely and helpful staff. The door people are super friendly and great at remembering you and making your experience better. Accor itself and the hotel does still have work to do to stay at this five star level. Our gold status meant we would get a room upgrade but they upgraded us to a room that is non existent on the website when we thought we would get something very different. The way this was handled wasn’t good especially in the late hours of the night with a tired baby. The manager the next day ended up working things out and room was beautiful but it was a lot of effort. They gave us club room access as a result which was a nice setting to have breakfast in the morning. However the club room service needs to improve especially seeing this is what you would expect to be the higher end service of the hotel. Service was very slow with food taking longer than it should and errors were made with the meals. For example my husband ordered steak and eggs medium rare and only steak (no eggs) came out and the steak was cooked well and very tough. With service improvements this hotel can be great but it’s not meeting its 5 star expectations so far. This is a joint effort required though Accor as a chain as well as the hotel itself.

Lovely place with top restaurants, roof top bar overlooking Bangkok. Super professional staff, in particular the lady working at the door, she's an ambassadorfor the hotel, really helpful..

An incredible hotel with unbelievable staff who want to make your stay as easy and as comfortable as possible. “No” doesn’t have a place in the Sofitel Bangkok vocabulary. To recognise some exceptional staff: NOK, MILD, GIFT & MARIELA. Just amazing. Thank you so much for getting everyday off to a great start at breakfast or chilling out in the evening.
