Gym

Went to train at the gym with K’Jawying. Had a really good experience. K’Jawying was very attentive, she focused on form and technique. She kept us very engaged and we had a really good time. The facilities were clean and the ambience was great!

Tasty afternoon tea, great services by N'Nong, Sri and Mark. Will come back again for Chocolate buffet as recommended. Was surprised by the welcoming drinks and snacks. A first here and will not be the last. For sure. Suitable for both Thai and Foreigners.

World-class hotel

I stopped writing Tripadvisor reviews for quite some time because of the proliferation low-quality reviews, and the site itself instituted some annoying things like promoting OTAs that didn't have the best price. None of that has really changed, but there also aren't many credible competitors, most of which have similar issues, including Google. So, maybe this just means that it's more important than ever to have real people posting here? The reason I decided to start with the Sukhothai is because it is a truly outstanding hotel, especially at its price point. We are GHA Discovery Titanium (an excellent loyalty program, everyone should join), so that may have influenced our experience. We paid for the base-level room with Club privileges, but were given a large suite, absolutely beautiful. (The only slightly amusing aspect was the placement of certain mirrors in the bathroom, which was ... interesting.) The Club Wing at Sukhothai is a separate building, with the Club itself on the top floor, as per usual. Excellent view and service, but what's notable is the quality of the food. The formal for hotel club lounges is food that looks fancy, and abundant, but quality is often mediocre. At Sukhtothai, it was truly a delight to hang out there at night and in the morning, with foody surprises like real jamon from Spain, surprisingly interesting cheeses, house-cured duck and pastrami, and loads of delicious little local bites. My wife said it reminded her of the afternoon tea at the Oriental, with the difference being that we had to pay for that one (fairly steep price too, iirc). Speaking of the Oriental, that classic hotel is perhaps still my favorite in Bangkok, but Sukhothai is close, and for our particular stay, the price differential was a factor of 2. I mean, I love the Oriental, but I don't love it twice as much. For a first-time visitor to Bangkok, staying along the river is ideal, but let's be honest, it's mostly enjoyable in the mornings, less so at night when the party boats sail back and forth. While Sukhothai lacks a riverfront location, it makes up for it by being a serene and lovely little world within Bangkok. The grounds are surprisingly extensive, and quite beautiful. The art collection is also excellent, much more interesting and eclectic than it needs to be; we really enjoyed just looking around the hotel. It's things like this that make a world-class property. Along with excellent service of course, and I would rate the service at Sukhothai as similar to that of other great chains like Oberoi, Capella, or one of the better Four Seasons properties. Bangkok is blessed with an unusually large number of excellent hotels at relatively affordable prices, and within this stellar group, Sukhothai more than holds its own. I would probably rank it among my favorite dozen or so hotels in the world.

Truly luxurious experience!

Definitely the best hotel we’ve ever been to! The level of services is super high and the hotel with its surroundings is just exquisite. It’s a true oasis in the middle of a bustling city. We had a suite for three nights and it was by far the best hotel room I’ve ever slept in. The bed was super comfy and the dressing room with plenty of closet space made it feel truly luxurious. I wish this was a paid ad but we paid the stay from our own pockets - and happily so.
