Tower Club at lebua rises high above the colorful chaos and sensory overload of downtown Bangkok – it’s the city’s second-tallest building – and offers world-class accommodations in an unbeatable location. Sample delectable street-cart fare and immerse in local markets, then retreat to your sleek, minimalist suite 50 stories into the sky. The Tower Club’s centralized address right on the SkyTrain means Bangkok’s cultural attractions are all close by, but stay close come nightfall: There’s nowhere more glamorous to sip a martini than the SkyBar, called the “most stunning rooftop bar you’ll ever see” by The New York Times.

I recently stayed at tower club at Lebua and was delighted to have my hopes lived up to. The room on the 58th floor was clean and spacious, although the AC is clearly an older model, you could keep the room at a very comfortable temperature and being able to close the sliding door also helped with this. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable, you had plenty of towels and amenities were refilled daily. With the mini bar, I really appreciated being able to change the contents to beverages that I would consume; instead of regular soft drinks I had coke zero and extra bottles of water which was very much needed in the Bangkok heat. The view from my balcony was as expected: excellent. It is true that you can hear some of the traffic at times, mainly emergency vehicles, but I did not find this a bother. The bed was comfortable, and the selection of pillows was a nice touch, too often you don’t have enough pillows, or they are too high/flat. The room was cleaned promptly every day and the housekeeping staff were brilliant. I do echo the previous comments about waiting times for the elevators, it is at times very frustrating to have to wait for such a long time and in the evenings having to queue due to visitors going to the Dome and you just wanting to get back to your room. Having access to the Club Lounge on the 52nd floor ensured that I did not feel the need to leave the hotel a lot. The people working there were very kind and started to remember what you like, which made it a very homely environment. The food was mostly good, on some evenings the sandwiches were not as good as others, but in principle I appreciated the daily changes and the variety of food on offer. It was nice to have fresh vegetables and being able to sit for a few hours with a good drink and try the foods was very pleasant. A definite highlight was the yuzu madeleines and the mango cake. Unfortunately the puff pastries were often quite dry. Nonetheless, it was really nice that not everything was meat but that there were many vegetarian options. It would have been nice to have cut fruit for the afternoon tea as well and not only for lunch but again, overall, the food was a very pleasant surprise. The dress code and general environment were not as strongly adhered to as before. People were allowed to enter in plastic flip flops which was very surprising. Further to this, people were having FaceTime calls without headphones on several occasions which was quite frustrating.it would be thoroughly appreciated that the dress codes and etiquette in general would be adhered to. Breakfast at Café Mozu was very good but the variety of cut fruit could be better. The sushi selection was mostly good and the various stations for eggs etc. were good. The tangerine juice was amazing. Unfortunately, the poolside service for cleaning tables was not very efficient. While the pool does not necessarily have the best views of Bangkok, it is a very relaxing oasis in the middle of a bustling city. It was never busy, and I was able to refresh with a book whenever I wanted to, thanks to the very generous opening hours. It does not feel to be heated but even if the initial feeling is surprisingly cold, given the Bangkok heat, it is very pleasant and refreshing. I visited the Dome once during this stay. It can be quite overwhelming at first when you exit the elevator, and you are greeted by many people and immediately escorted to one of the bars. It felt necessary to know from the get go where you want to go and this time around the staff were very attentive. I was sad to learn that that the Sky bar manager had moved on but still had a lovely evening due to the bartenders being very attentive and on top of their jobs. My good experience at lebua ended with a smooth journey to the airport. Unfortunately the booking no longer includes assistance at the airport, but the car was very clean and the journey overall pleasant. Overall, my stay was pleasant and while there may be more modern hotels, I am likely to pick lebua again and again for my oasis in Bangkok. The staff is pleasant and the rooms are spacious and clean, which is exactly what you want from a city trip.
