Overall: Mixed experience — great staff and lounge perks, but the property itself feels dated in places and some aspects are surprisingly inconvenient for a luxury hotel. Cons • Balcony doors are permanently locked, which is disappointing considering the views the hotel promotes. • No on-site shop for basics like snacks, sunscreen, or small essentials. • Room keys are very impractical – a thick faux-leather card holder that doesn’t fit easily into a wallet or pocket. Digital room keys via phone would be a huge improvement. • Electrics feel dated. In my room (5414), the Do Not Disturb and housekeeping buttons didn’t work. • Shower drainage issue – the tray fills up and can overflow if you shower for too long. • Elevators can get very busy, especially at peak times. • Staff knowledge about the local dining scene seemed limited. For example, staff were unfamiliar with nearby places like Nobu or Le Du Kaan, which are direct competitors to the hotel’s Sky Bar. • Sky Bar is extremely overpriced. We paid around £60 for a glass of Sangiovese and a rum & cola, which feels like a tourist trap given that the views are similar to other nearby rooftop bars. In my opinion, Le Du Kaan offers better views and far better prices. • 10,000 THB deposit charged immediately on check-in. Not needed given mini-bar is free. Holding charge it is not, it debited my account fully. excessive and without clear explanation. Up to 2 weeks to refund on departure & never explained up front at time of booking • No room service / in-room dining options, which is surprising for a hotel of this category. • Small, dated TV (around 28”) despite the large room size. Pros • Staff are genuinely very friendly and welcoming, even if English could sometimes be stronger. • Club lounge (Breeze, Level 52) is excellent – complimentary drinks and a hot breakfast are included and it’s a great space. • Air conditioning is extremely powerful, which is very welcome in Bangkok’s heat. • Nightly turndown service is a lovely touch – slippers placed out, curtains drawn, bed prepared, and chocolates left on the pillows. Verdict Lebua has fantastic views and warm staff, and the club lounge is a real highlight, but the rooms, facilities, and pricing at the Sky Bar feel dated or out of sync with modern luxury hotel standards.
