Exceptional Boutique Hotel: Perfect Location, Incredible staff. Highly Recommended

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This is a great hotel. The location can't be beat. One block from the "Fifth Ave of Barcelona" for shopping but also primarily residential neighborhood with lots of local coffee shops and cafes. Also close to La Pedrera and Sagrada Familia. The hotel itself has been modernized but maintained many of its historic building features which made it feel special. But the incredible staff is what make it a SUPER 10!! Staff is professional and friendly. All requests were taken care of promptly and our room was ready when we arrived at 8 am.....that really made our first day!! Must give special praise and thanks to Max at the front desk who was so helpful and accommodating. He made our hotel experience perfection! And also, Jacomo at the pool lounge who was so friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this hotel. Several years ago, we stayed on The Ramblas which really marred that trip.....overcrowded with tourists and people hassling you to buy stuff or sit at the cafes. This location will give you a more authentic...and a lot calmer... Barcelona experience. Would definitely return.

A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT AS A DISABLED GUY

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

As a GOLD member of HILTON I would say hotel has low standards & offers bad experience to physically handicapped peeople. I booked 2 rooms in total for me & my dad & my mom & my aunt. Before I arrived (in the booking phase of HILTON CALL CENTER and 1 week previous my stay) I was told that the room has adjusted bathroom for physically handicapped. But when we arrived I was shocked because the bathroom was not physically handicapped adjusted bathroom. Not even close. As you can see from the pictures 1- Shower had no bath seat suitable for physically handicapped people or even for normal people because it was designed to have shower on foot. There was only bar going up and down which does not have function for accessible world. I warned reception and they sent me maintenance guy where he was also shocked as well because he thought there was a chair to have shower. Than they sent me stool which impossible to sit on it therefore it was useless. 2- Shower head was to high that only walking people could reach as seen in the picture as well. 3- Shower had foldable glass visor to prevent water get outside but even when it was in its minimal size I was unable to come closer to have shower on my wheelchair. 4- The sink was too low that I was unable to get under it with my wheel chair to wash my face etc… 5- The toilet was at the bottom of the wall as seen in the picture which was preventing to use that side face & arm when I sit on it where it should be in the middle so that both sides should be empty to make life easier for people with disabilities 6- The air-condition was not working 7- The windows were not fully opening. 8- The room had not enough lightning. There were 2 simple lamps like taken from IKEA or etc... which was not even giving enough light at nights. Other thing is about breakfast. There was nothing to eat but cake and croissant. No cheese kinds no boiled tea no baked omlette. Everything was very little in quantity and potatoes or scrambled eggs were cold. The breakfast area was so narrow that I was unable to move with my wheelchair. Also nobody offered me to help me to get something to eat. Also there were too many front desk agents but almost nobody in other segments. Housekeeping 1 or 2 person. Breakfast 1 or 2 person. Bellboy 1 person. Almost all the time we had open the front door of the hotel ourselves because nobody attempted to help to a wheelchair guy. At the check in nobody sad welcome to our hotel. Thank you for being a GOLD Member etc… We were not valued as a Hilton GOLD MEMBER. Also nobody helped with our luggage’s to carry to our rooms. Nobody spoke ENGLISH accept reception guys. That’s why it was horrible to make yourself understood in the hotel. In the rooms all soap shampoo etc was in luquid like in HAMPTON where they did not give you what you need unless you ask for it like solid soap, slippers etc… As a result the hotel was like 1 star boutique hotel for me which should not be even in HILTON PORTFOLIO. No quality no happiness no nothing.

We stayed at this Hilton hotel in the beating heart of Barcelona, and the location alone is worth the stay. You’re literally in the center of everything — shops, restaurants, cultural highlights — it’s all within walking distance. Top location if you want to explore the city by foot. Let’s start with the essentials, which Hilton consistently delivers: – Quiet rooms despite the central location – Full blackout curtains for proper rest – Silent, effective air conditioning – A clean and well-equipped bathroom with both bathtub and shower The room itself was small, and this is something to expect in most central Barcelona hotels. It’s compact — to the point that two adults cannot pass the bed at the same time — but it’s intelligently laid out, and the comfort and cleanliness were spot on. We enjoyed a fresh and extensive breakfast with a lot of variety, perfect to fuel up before a long day in the city. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful — from the moment we arrived with our luggage to guiding us toward the nearby parking. A note about the parking situation: the hotel does not have on-site parking. You’ll need to park in a public garage two blocks away (about a 5-minute walk). You do get a discount using the hotel’s code, but you still need to pay. Unfortunately, during our early morning departure, there was no staff present at the garage, so we couldn’t apply the discount and ended up paying full price — something to be aware of if you have an early flight. One great perk was the rooftop pool — small but charming, and a perfect way to cool down after a hot day in the city. We took an evening swim and found it very refreshing. Despite the compact room size and minor parking inconvenience, we felt the overall value was very fair. Hilton once again shows its signature standard of comfort and service, and that sense of trust and consistency was clearly present. Most importantly, we made a mistake in the hotel booking dates, the staff managed to still accommodate a very nice room. Topservice! If we return to Barcelona — and we will — we’d gladly stay here again. Great value for money, with the unbeatable bonus of being in the center of it all.

Great location. Rooms very big enough, clean, and comfortable, and staff and service were great. Many nice restaurants and shooping in the area. Very good choice for couple and family stays.

Disappointing Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed at this hotel, rated as a 4-star superior, but the experience was unfortunately far below expectations. Front office staff was very inconsiderate to any request.Ask to change pillow 3 time wasn’t done.Hotel of this level doesn’t have chargers or cable The room lacked basic amenities such as slippers dental kit and a bathrobe - essentials that should be standard for a hotel of this category. When you book for 2 you expect room to be ready for 2 guest. The room's ventilation system was noisy, making it difficult to sleep, and the temperature fluctuated uncomfortably between hot and cold. The pillows were also far too soft, offering poor support and making restful sleep a challenge. Considering the high price of the stay the overall experience was extremely disappointing.
